Pricing RatingN/A

Pros

  • Pricing is easy and cheap and the amount of integrations it has is pretty useful. Also, the ability to self host is a big plus for environments with restricted access to the outside internet.

  • Being able to get notified via multiple channels of services and scripts not running has been instrumental to ensuring issues are investigated as quick as possible. Often before customers even notice.

Cons

  • Used it for more than 6 months and it failed me literally never.

  • Lack of graphs for uptime, but not a huge thing to miss.

"A simple enough open source health check monitoring service"

Overall: It has been a reliable service since we started using the hosted version. We really needed a way to monitor how processes and tasks have been going and its configuration and integration is easy and straightforward. With this service, we have been able to solve issues in half the time we spent previously.

Pros: Healthchecks.io is an easy to use health check monitoring service, based on HTTP pings. Creating a new check is easy with its integrated cron expression editor, as well as monitoring how checks are going. Pricing is easy and cheap and the amount of integrations it has is pretty useful. Also, the ability to self host is a big plus for environments with restricted access to the outside internet. Finally, documentation is well written and easy to understand, something a lot of open source software projects miss.

Cons: The software doesn't have much cons, however, just as HTTP pings are simple and straightforward, they can also be a bit tricky to use in situations where there is no internet connection and are a bit complicated to integrate when you want to send more than just an OK to the application. Self-hosting the application is also a little bit complicated, as we suffered sudden downtimes and unresponsiveness of the application.

Alternatives Considered: Better Uptime
