It is the kind of tool that you never expect you need, until you do. For someone in my business (translation) who has to work with a wide range of documents of various types and qualities, it is more than worth the modest price tag. Pros Acrobat DC makes it quite easy to create, edit, and manage PDF files. I particularly appreciate the 'fill in and sign' feature, which has certainly saved me from having to print and scan several hundred pages of documents. The edit and rearrange features are invaluable in preparing documents for efficient translation or further processing. The OCR feature, while not as powerful as those provided by competitors such as Abby and Omnipage, is quite good for the price. Cons The interface seems a bit messy, with icons across top and side bars. It almost seems as if they took the Reader version and then added all the additional features to the side bar, cluttering up the interface. I find it quite annoying that the bar cannot be moved or hidden, especially when I am trying to work with several documents on one screen. Pros I like that I can edit and customize any document. I love that I can scan in a document and about instantly transform it into a fillable form. Cons I wish Adobe could be more cost efficient. I however haven't found another product that offers as many features. We also use a Thomson Reuters product called File Cabinet CS that fights with Adobe Acrobat DC but is ok with the reader version. Pros Adobe Sign allows for the convenience and efficiency of collecting signatures for contracts, hiring packets, purchase orders, etc. An average contract used to take up to two weeks for all signatures to be collected, before I was able to submit it for filling. Today, I can do all that in under two hours. Cons Customer support is subpar. September 6, 2021 5.0 I have been using Adobe Acrobat DC since my undergraduate degree days to view and edit PDF. I have been a working professional for the last 7 years and have used the software almost everyday. It would be really difficult to imagine a day without it. At some point I did not have access to my computer and the PC I was using did not have Adobe. I had to do everything on the 3rd party website and it was just a huge pain. I am extremely happy with Adobe Acrobat and would definitely recommend it to everyone. Pros It's the oldest software for using with PDF and only has gotten better over the years with the addition of digital signatures, fillable form fields, editor, markups. The best part I liked about the software was the simplicity of the user interface. You can find everything you need with just a click, it's the best. Even though I have Bluebeam Revu with much more features I still use Adobe for its simplicity. Cons As far as simple document markup is concerned Adobe works great but it's lacking functionality similar to Bluebeam Revu. Pros My business deals with contract negotiation and administration on a daily basis and we often require signatures from multiple parties before the contract is considered completed. In the old days, we emailed contracts that had printed off, signed and scanned by the parties. Then, on our end, we had to confirm the contract was signed and complete before executing on the project in question. Using Adobe Acrobat Sign, we don't have to deal with any of that. Once it is sent off, we get notified when the contract is complete or has modifications. Custom fields makes it extremely easy for us to use the same template for multiple projects and customize each contract with different types of fields. It also provides the option of collecting and aggregating responses from multiple parties. Cons Our clients sometimes complain that they don't receive copies of the contract in their inbox. We believe this is due to the emails being sent to a spam folder.
