Toddle provides the frame to build high-quality courses that integrate advanced thinking skills in meaningful ways. We use Toddle to deliver graduate-level professional development courses for teachers and administrators, and in less than a year we have moved from a set of fragmented management tools to a fully integrated, course- and program-driven management system that serves both administration and instruction. The student-facing AI tools are a standout. They allow our in-service educators to interact with content within a personalized context rather than working through static material. A high school teacher in our program recently shared that she appreciated the chance to "chat" about a video stopping point with the AI Tutor instead of simply preparing and submitting a static response—a small shift that made the learning feel more genuine and responsive. In closing, LMSs have been part of my professional life since 1998. I have used many of them across every role—faculty, administrator, and support—and I have been part of selection, rollout, and training multiple times. Toddle is a DEFINITE WINNER. Despite the depth of features, the platform remains easy to use, with a manageable learning curve that allows our team to get up and running quickly. Cons First, the interface is heavily text-based and offers little customization—there is no easy way to adjust the look and feel, apply branding, or use custom CSS to match an institution's identity. Cons One area I found challenging was the reporting process at the end of the academic year. Since Toddle serves as our primary platform for documenting learning evidence, formative assessments, and summative assessments throughout the year, it would be beneficial if the system could automatically calculate or generate overall criterion averages and final scores for reporting purposes. Currently, teachers are required to manually compile and enter this information, which can be time-consuming and increases the risk of errors. Another minor challenge is occasional system lag, particularly during periods of heavy use. I really enjoy the portfolio and the ways in which students can reflect on their learning and set goals for themselves that they can reflect on over the course of their studies. Pros Toddle is increasingly user-friendly and more intuitive for reporting, assessment and managing courses. My students now understand when and how to submit their work and view the feedback. I've found the AI assistant to be really helpful in managing feedback and multiple-choice questions. Cons I wish that the worksheet was lockable, to prevent students using AI on tasks where it is not allowed or recommended. It would help with assessing a student's actual level and ability.
