I have never had any issues with it and often recommend it to friends and colleagues. Pros I use MalwareBytes on my laptops. It provides great real-time protection. Scans are quick and thorough. Seems to be low on cpu and memory usage. Compliments Windows Defender nicely. Cons I didn't like some of the pop-ups for purchasing the full version when using the free version. Its ability to detect, prevent and provide remedy for infected systems is unmatched. I also like how easy it is to set it up and use chiefly because of the clean and intuitive UI. One other thing I like is that it has a very low false positive rate than most other products. September 11, 2019 4.0 I have been extremely impressed with Malwarebytes so far. Once you have installed this, you don't have to worry about losing your data or formatting your PC just to get rid of the sickest viruses or malware. Malwarebytes will do the job fairly easily and quickly. It will also clean up your system getting rid of any residue files. Pros Malwarebytes is one of the strongest cybersecurity options out there. You don't need to worry about malware or cleaning up your PC once you've installed this software. It has the ability to detect threats which another antivirus software don't even recognize exist. It has an extremely rich set of functionality which allows you to quarantine, save reports, permanently delete threats once they are inventoried. For me, being able to quarantine and the ability to selectively choose what to do with each threat is the most important one. Cons Most of its functionality is paid. Although it will detect all the threats, to perform further operations, you need to have Malwarebytes Premium to be able to actually do anything about it, which does sound reasonable, but that's probably the only caveat there is. Pros The first thing that comes to mind when talking about clearing Malware is Malwarebytes. The simple reason is that it has been used by us since years and we don't even know there are other similar software, it is just that good. - The free version has all the features except Real Time Protection and clears all malware with just as much efficiency. - One scan periodically will keep the workstation/computer safe from all possible threats. - It prevented a total loss of data when the system got infected and files were getting corrupted. - Unlike other free solutions, it actually does clear and there are no false advertisements that scare you into buying the professional tool. - Can be used along with another antivirus, so its perfect as a supporting tool. Cons The customer support was really bad, im using a really old lifetime license which was suddenly locked due to being used on too many pcs (5 i think) but when i bought it there was no mention of a pc restriction anywhere! While explainig this they were really unfriendly. I feel that the monthly price is a bit much to ask compared to other av softwares out there. Pros A few years back I was using Webroot to protect a PC and some malicious software got past it and infected the PC. I used Malwarebytes to work thru, remove, and restore the PC. I am a big fan of this software. It did take a lot of work to get things corrected but I was able to get the PC back up and running when I thought it was not possible. It's lightweight and doesn't slow the system down, and I have never had an issue with it like I have with other solutions. Cons Updates with Malwarebytes could be a little more seamless. Everytime you fire it up and start a scan, the program updates its malware definitions automatically and scans your entire system quickly. Nowadays malware can hijack your CPU power and many other nasty unwanted things, so using this software is paramount to normal usage of a computer. I appreciate that the scans are done quickly relative to other anti-virus software and it usually is able to find and eliminate threats. When doing this it doesn't take up too much processing power unlike other softwares. All in all it is a solid layer of dense for our computers. Cons I really wish that the free version did a better job because premium is expensive so we're forced to run the program alongside other anti-virus software in the hopes that they can catch everything between them. Pros What I like most about this software is it is very good at proactively catching malware/virus and also it is very good at detecting problem websites and alerts me and prevents me from going to a website thereby preventing damage to my PC. Of course, this functionality is not perfect because sometimes there are false positives, but Malwarebytes gives the option to proceed to the website. I encountered both of these scenarios. Cons What I like the least about this software are: its update mechanism to a new version is not easy and automatic, sometimes the application icon cannot be found in the tray area or if it is there and I click on it then the main program window does not show up, and 9 out of 10 times I cannot view the history of the issues Malwarebytes caught or identified. The truncated functionality of the free version of the program. Sometimes there are problems with access to the interface. The program does not want to automatically update the virus database.
