We ultimately moved away from it to Sophos. Pros I felt the user interface within the malwarebytes console was easy to use once you were familiar with how to navigate. I was able to use the console for client deployment and management of tracking what devices in our environment had the endpoint installed with ease. Malwarebytes was able to effectively detect the threats on our systems most of the time in terms of real-time protection with 97% accuracy. Cons The Malwarebytes scanner when performing the daily scans would slow down our clients considerably. We confirmed this by opening up task manager and verifying it was eating up most of the resources. Other considerations are it doesn't offer as many features compared to Norton. As a freelancer, the protection of the many company's data and network I work with is of the utmost importance, and Malwarebytes has exceeded my expectations in this regard. The software is incredibly effective at detecting and removing malware, and I have noticed a significant reduction in the number of threats since implementing it. Pros I enjoy not having to think about it.It uses minimal computer resources and operates silently in the background. Pros The software is very light and and does the job. The enterprise management console is very good and helps keep track of all the computers and servers that the software is installed on. You can trigger a scan from the console. The installation is also very easy if you need to roll it out to the field. Cons The UI of the software is not that great. The free trial, in which you have the real time protection, is amazing. Way better than using Windows Defender Cons I don't like that it keeps popping up messages offering to switch to the paid version and offering updates. I use it at least once a week just to make sure my computer is protected and clear of malware or other viruses. I did eventually learn about all of the possibilities the software has but it really would be nice if there was a way to be more upfront about all it does instead of having to mess around and dig into the software. Trial and error isn't always comforting when you're working with a computer you need to run every day and can't afford to replace. Pros I love that Malwarebytes does a really great job thoroughly checking every file. I like that there's a deep clean option and I trust that the software really does work well. It has helped find issues on my computer and made my computer run more quickly and keep it safe from malware more reliably than other similar options. Cons Learning everything Malwarebytes can do is takes some time. Adjusting settings and fixing things the way you want them to be instead of the way the default setting is, can be overwhelming. Sometimes it can feel like changing one thing will really mess up your computer. There's also not a comprehensive guide of everything Malwarebytes can do so if you aren't one to learn by doing, you may never use the software to its full potential. Review Source Rob C. Though I haven't actually gotten a virus on my computers in years now, I always make Malwarebytes one of the first things I install to any new system. If something does go wrong, I know it will help me make it right. Pros I first heard about Malwarebytes years ago, when we were trying to figure out why our home PC was struggling. AVG antivirus wasn't finding anything, so we didn't think a virus was to blame. And yet it was slow. Then someone suggested we try Malwarebytes, and we saw our PC was completely overrun with little digital nasties. That experience has held through the years, to the point that Malwarebytes is a go-to for me when I'm trying to solve family computer woes. Our IT company, which puts a lot of thought and care into selecting products for keeping our computers safe, also uses Malwarebytes as part of its toolkit. If you want to make sure you catch absolutely everything, get this product. Cons I've never had anything to complain about with Malwarebytes. Maybe just that it doesn't come pre-loaded on every PC. It's so powerful and efficient. I use it in my day to day usage to safe myself and my pc fron unwanted malwares. Pros This software works like magic what no other softwares can do. I tried a lot to remove a malware but nothing worked, I was so frustrated because it was deleting and creating shortcuts of my file. It would open in the searchbox whenever I opened any browser. It wouldn't even let me search the word 'malware' in my browser. Then I installed malwarebytes with no hope left because I tried everything else. But to my utter surprise it worked like charm and removed the malware and saved me from an immense frustration. Cons It autostarts and so boot time increases which is frustrating sometimes. It can be turned off in windows settings though. Cons Starting actions in the web portal seems to kick them off into an invisible queue, and it’s hard to tell if a scan, update, etc is actually going to run. Pros Something I really like about malwarebytes is that due to its chameleon technology malwares aren't able to alter it or disable it, which ensures that it is always protecting you against malwares, something that most antivirus don't do. It is really easy to use since its interface is super comfortable and it is streamlined. Even if one is very aware of phishing scams and other security threats, anything can slip through through other methods and it won't really matter if Malwarebytes is running. I set a "cleaning day" each week to clear out the crud that accumulates throughout the week of work. Between Avast and Malwarebytes I haven't had an issue in over 5 years! Pros Not sure if it's because I started using this app way back in high school, but it's the only app I trust to scan and remove malware! It always gives you the option to update but I've been using a mixture of the free and paid versions for years now and I love both! The scans are in depth and you can schedule them to run at the best times that suits you. Cons Like most free apps, you get annoyed with the constant reminders to upgrade to the paid version. While Malwarebytes does this almost daily, they give you a seriously discounted and affordable price to do so. Although, you may not need to if you care for your machine as well as I do. It does what it is supposed to do in my opinion Pros This software does what it says it does, with the latest updates it automatically is scanning in background while you do whatever it is you are doing on your pc. It wont slow up your computer and it will find malware automatically and just pop up with it and ask you what you would like to do with the file. I have had no issues with Malware since using this software. There is a free version when it is expired you just uninstall and reinstall it for free. Cons I dont have really anything negative to say about this software I been using it for quite some time now, granted it will always work better hand in hand with another anti viruse program. it works good as long as I have used it as a basic malware remover. I've made Malwarebytes, the free version, an essential part in my PC cleanup toolkit for both personal use as well as when i'm assisting friends and colleagues. Pros Malwarebytes' threat scan, included in the free version, has always done well with detecting harmful PUPs/PUMs and trojans. Its easy to view post scan analysis for quarantine is great to view the malware's location and type/name (for looking it up online). Cons Within the past, year or two, the free version of malwarebytes, specifically its interface, has been pushing the premium version more than I like. It gives the program a feeling of less worth. I believe the paid version is too costly, yet the Free version scan is still a powerful standalone tool. I often suggest Malwarebytes for others to use, or use it infront of others to help scan their computer. The large "Real-Time Protection premium only feature on the main screen, the activate license bar on top, the all caps "FREE" word on top, and the many many locked settings discredits it's free version authority.
