Pros Something I really like about malwarebytes is that due to its chameleon technology malwares aren't able to alter it or disable it, which ensures that it is always protecting you against malwares, something that most antivirus don't do. It is really easy to use since its interface is super comfortable and it is streamlined. Cons You must keep in mind that this is not an antivirus so other types of threats can still infect your computer, that's why I recommend you use it with an antivirus. Review Source PK Pam K. Pros It's great for Home Use. Simple updates, good security coverage. Cons For Enterprise the deployment was a little sketch behind our enterprise firewalls. It seems to need full access to the Internet to behave consistently. Pros It catches everything Windows Defender doesn't and eliminates it. Even if one is very aware of phishing scams and other security threats, anything can slip through through other methods and it won't really matter if Malwarebytes is running. Cons Active scanning can be intense on my system and can cause lagging in other programs if it's running simultaneously. Review Source kevin M. I set a "cleaning day" each week to clear out the crud that accumulates throughout the week of work. Between Avast and Malwarebytes I haven't had an issue in over 5 years! Pros Not sure if it's because I started using this app way back in high school, but it's the only app I trust to scan and remove malware! It always gives you the option to update but I've been using a mixture of the free and paid versions for years now and I love both! The scans are in depth and you can schedule them to run at the best times that suits you. Cons Like most free apps, you get annoyed with the constant reminders to upgrade to the paid version. While Malwarebytes does this almost daily, they give you a seriously discounted and affordable price to do so. Although, you may not need to if you care for your machine as well as I do. They tend to take over my laptop and hog resources. I use Windows Security for live virus checking but have found that it misses some malware that Malwarebytes finds and quarantines. Pros Ease of use. I have the free version which means I have to remember to run it when I feel it is needed. This is not a problem for me. Cons There really is nothing to complain about. The interface is simple and a full scan takes very little time. It does what it is supposed to do in my opinion Pros This software does what it says it does, with the latest updates it automatically is scanning in background while you do whatever it is you are doing on your pc. It wont slow up your computer and it will find malware automatically and just pop up with it and ask you what you would like to do with the file. I have had no issues with Malware since using this software. There is a free version when it is expired you just uninstall and reinstall it for free. Cons I dont have really anything negative to say about this software I been using it for quite some time now, granted it will always work better hand in hand with another anti viruse program. it works good as long as I have used it as a basic malware remover. I've made Malwarebytes, the free version, an essential part in my PC cleanup toolkit for both personal use as well as when i'm assisting friends and colleagues. Pros Malwarebytes' threat scan, included in the free version, has always done well with detecting harmful PUPs/PUMs and trojans. Its easy to view post scan analysis for quarantine is great to view the malware's location and type/name (for looking it up online). Cons Within the past, year or two, the free version of malwarebytes, specifically its interface, has been pushing the premium version more than I like. It gives the program a feeling of less worth. I believe the paid version is too costly, yet the Free version scan is still a powerful standalone tool. I often suggest Malwarebytes for others to use, or use it infront of others to help scan their computer. The large "Real-Time Protection premium only feature on the main screen, the activate license bar on top, the all caps "FREE" word on top, and the many many locked settings discredits it's free version authority. The user interface (UX) is very simple but very effective. You can run scans when convenient or pre-schedule them for certain times when you are away from the desk. It detects and notifies you if it finds anything that needs your attention. Cons It is over-all a very useful tool and millions of users around the globe will agree. Pros The quarantine system makes it easy for us to analyze possible elements so that we are able to leave them if something was incorrectly identifying them. Unlike other tools that can sometimes remove something that is not a threat Malwarebytes gives the quarantine option which is one of the best features. The interface is easy to use, we can schedule and analyze with just a few clicks, no complicated process to complete. I'd like to use it again someday. Pros I've always loved Malwarebytes. Used for many year I can't remember. I've received and indication and always trusted it to protect my PC. Never thought about it on my PC, I just knew that it was there. I find using it a painless experience. And, unlike other solutions I've used in the past, Malwarebytes focuses on a broader list of threats (e.g. adware and ransomware; not only viruses). Pros I think the main advantages of Malwarebytes are: 1. It's way faster than the competition. I've used several different anti-malware solutions over the years, and Malwarebytes is simply the fastest I've ever used. 2. It focuses not only on viruses, but also other types of threats. Adware, ransomware, among others. 3. Its free! It offers a very good value for the price. Cons The only disadvantage the free version of Malwarebytes has is it lacks real-time monitoring. For that, you either have to pay (it's not cheap) or use a secondary anti-virus to take care of the real-time monitoring (which isn't optimal). Parental filters can be managed through a Microsoft account that makes use of the family feature and Windows Defender has a Firewall. I also protect our system with router firewall. In my opinion, to offer all of the extras that are already able to be managed through proprietary system tools would be foolish and would bloat the program. Pros There are two things that I really love about Malwarebytes...First, it's SO user friendly that takes all of the scariness out of dealing with virus', malware, spyware, etc. out of the equation. It is so easy to use and intuitive that someone who has never used this type of software can easily understand what they need to do to make it work. the second thing I love is that it has a free version that ACTUALLY WORKS. So many virus removal programs either install their own kind of spyware while they work or they don't protect you from the latest and greatest bugs. Malwarebytes however, removes even the latest bugs that they have definitions for, for free. Cons There are some features that one might be interested in that just do not come with Malwarebytes - Like parental filter and it doesn't have it's own firewall. Review Source Adam L. Pros I use both the mobile and desktop versions and they both provide very accurate, up-to-date virus detection without being too over-sensitive. I myself will use no other Malware program. Pros I like that every day this software is scanning my computer for malicious files and it automatically scans and quarantines or deletes the files. And the price is low compared to the others and does a better job in my opinion. It is complet and leaves out nothing. It's incredibly easy to download and navigate, and it's clear how to run either a quick or full scan and remove threats. I've had some pretty bad viruses on my computer that Malwarebytes has had no problem COMPLETELY removing whereas other virus scanners still will leave traces of it on my computer. Whether you use the paid version or free version, this program is awesome! Cons Only complaint is having pages or downloads blocked that I know are safe because I've used them in the past. I can disable malwarebytes in these instances so I can continue with what I was doing, but it can be somewhat frustrating at times.
