For real-time protection you'll have to upgrade, but the extra powern is worth the modest cost. Pros I love that it's free, but even more so that it actually works! Malwarebytes catches malware and other nasties on my PC reliably, with very few false positives. Any false positives are easily added to a whitelist so they don't repeat. Cons If you want more advanced features like real-time protection, you have to pay for an upgrade. But the free version is excellent at catching malware that has already landed onto your device. Pros It has a very advanced zero-day technology. It would not be a good option as a main antivirus because of the time it works, but as a second protective layer, it manages to find very small attacks that the main antivirus has not been able to detect. Cons The Malwarebytes bonus and real-time protection are only obtained with the PREMIUM version that is paid. It's great peace of mind to know that MalwareBytes is on top of most things. Cons The on-prem version of the management software leaves a bit to be desired. Though we are moving to a cloud based version soon. When not running the program it has an "offline" feature that tells you that you are either secure, need to run a scan since it has been a while, or that there is a threat which is convenient. Overall, the program has come highly recommended to me for being straight forward and user friendly, even for those that do not have a broad understanding of Malware. Cons It is not antivirus software! It must be used in tandem with another program. It will not prevent infection, just will let you know when you are at risk. The features are limited to keep the user interface simple. It does not scan web pages, emails, wifi etc. I am a forgetful person so I would like to see a feature where you can schedule scans. All you need is code and internet connection to get started. It scans in background and lets you know any risky sites as well as attempts on your computer and what you can do to stop it Cons Every time i renew I get a new activation code. " September 12, 2018 5.0 Pros I used half a dozen other anti viruses and anti malware tools before I bought this. And I havent used anything since. Its super simple to use. The scan is fast and efficient. The detection rates are great. And it is really REALLY lightweight. You wont even know its running in the background. And unlike other anti malwares this will also find any PUPs (potentially unwanted programs) on your system that got in because you click Install to quickly without noticing all the bundled bad stuff that came with some free software you used. Its such a good all in one utility that I replaced all my other PC protection with just this. Cons Nothing specific really. Cons Sometimes as deep as the program is able to scan and search your PC for any potential threats, there are still some viruses and malware that are smart enough to allude the programs search and therefore cannot be caught and removed. Pros Malwarebytes is very lightweight and an overall excellent tool to use. Since implementing this tool, we've seen a marked improvement in system responsiveness/resource usage, as well as a reduction of adware and other junk. For one-time scans where the full suite is not installed, it does an amazing job of removing all traces of malware. It is rare that we encounter something so bad we need to resort to other tools or imaging the system. Cons We have not had a single bad experience with this tool. Occasionally scans take longer than expected, but that is typically due to mediocre hardware or system performance.
