June 12, 2020 5.0 Malewarebytes allows my company the freedom to explore the internet as needed without having to worry about being attacked by the things out there that destroy computers. Pros What I like most about Malwarebytes is the ease of use throughout my company. I am able to install the program on multiple devices. My employees are able to use it without error. The program runs in the background and if necessary we are able to scan our devices in the event of a threat of a virus or maleware. My employees like it because it makes them feel secure. Since not all of my colleagues are tech-savvy, it is important to have a protector which run easily and lightly on their system while also providing good protection. Malwarebytes is such a program. Pros Malwarebytes is very useful in catching possible malicious programs threatening your computers. It runs light on resources, making it almost unnoticeable, unlike some other antivirus. Malwarebytes also updates regularly thus capable of noticing malicious programs undetected by other antivirus. Cons Its description says that it cannot replace an antivirus. While I understand that Malwarebytes' focus is on the newest threat, I don't understand why it cannot design its software into a full-fledged antivirus. Whenever I had to research to figure out the problem of something I would find Malwarebytes to be mentioned all the times. There was another program that I used to help clean computers that was also purchased by Malwarebytes. I thought I would check out the software, which is very reasonably priced. It just works and I have told many a person that Malwarebytes is the best at what it does. Pros It is thorough and just works. I've had systems in the past that have fought each other. The free version is already a good product if you're on a budget but buying the yearly subscription is easily well worth the money. Having real time protection that works is invaluable. It is constantly blocking suspicious sites from displaying in the background and stopping shady processes before they even start. On a business level their enterprise software is really robust. It's easy to install and manage clients on the back-end without disrupting end users. Cons I have no complaints at all. I enjoy how it allows me to pick and choose what I agree is harmful and leave what is likely unnecessary to remove. I tend to use it most often when working on friends and family's computers before tracking down issues. I've used it occasionally at work for when we have hard to debug issues. It's managed to rectify one issue in the workplace. Cons Probably getting a bit bloated with unnecessary features that it doesn't need but I encourage them to continue to keep progressing because there will eventually be an additional feature that makes life easy. It works well cleaning out browser hijackers and spyware. One of my clients got the enterprise version for mass deployment and management of antimalware. It works well for the most part, but there have been a couple infection strains that are only held at bay by the website blocker, or are removed only to come back the next day. On top of all that it's a bit pricey. It saves me time, sure, but it also requires me to invest a lot of time in chasing down what it misses. Pros Does a good job at cleaning up most common, low-level malware infections, and is my go-to first response tool Cons In enterprise deployments, it has been found to critically miss a few common infections, which return over and over again. The ability to scan quickly and seek out malware in realtime is very important. It is reliable and is always working behind the scenes to keep you safe online. Cons Often times there are flags on files that are normally fine for the user. These false positives can worry the user when in reality they are just fine for the system. Pros The free version of Malwarebytes offers plenty of features, unlike some that do absolutely nothing for you unless you buy something. It scans your computer in the background and lets you know of any potential threats. Cons The free version doesn't actually fight any threats, but I don't mind paying to keep my computer protected if I need to.
