Pros Very thorough and powerful. Ive trusted it for many years now. The custom scan has many options. It has removed parts of viruses that I typically have to remove manually. Cons It can be a little tough to find some options, notifications can be distracting. Ive learned to tune them out. Malwarebytes has a relatively fast scan time and gives regular system reports and analysis. Cons There isn't very much to not like. However, the GUI could be improved to a more modern and user friendly interface. Also the paid version is a little too pricey for me. Pros Simply put, Malware Bytes has every feature that any other commercial Anti-Virus would have. What I particularly like about is it does not eat literally every available resource in order to protect you. I have seen first hand machines slowed to a crawl due to Anti-Virus working. Its great to protect your computer, but if you can't use the computer your protecting then whats the point? Malwarebytes protects while letting you use the computer. Updates are properly done to keep you protected and the UI is clean and easy. Cons Not a huge complaint, but there really isn't a point to the free version. Microsofts built in Defender is also free and seems to be the same and is easier to install for Windows machines. Paid version is good value though. Review Source Vicki P. It's fantastic for this use and I can see how a less PC savy person would prefer the UI to that of windows defender Pros The industry standard for excellence in the space, if you are not sure if your windows defender missed something Malwarebytes will put you at ease. It has a very easy to understand interface and clearly tells you what is going on. Cons Windows 10, windows defender is so good these days you rarely require a 3rd party anti virus/malware tool. I can't say it a tool I want running all the time, but when I do have it active, I actually feel protected. And as opposed to other apps of this type, this one doesn't seem to hog a lot of memory in my system. Pros The online world is a scary place. With pieces of software such as Microsoft Office moving to the cloud, I find myself using the internet more and more, even for things like writing a text document. While this is true, I still keep a lot of files on my own computer. Malwarebytes came to the rescue a bunch of times and it gives me peace of mind knowing it checks websites for malware or errors and blocks them before they can cause any harm. Cons Sometimes it's actually hard to understand WHAT it does. Since malware and potentially harmful elements are so sophisticated these days, it's difficult to understand the shielding it provides. So I sometimes just activate it, let it run and scan and if everything goes great (and nothing is detected), I uninstall it. Perhaps some more explanations would help. Review Source HG Herb G. I tried many security software like Norton, Kaspersky with the latest updates. But in vain. As a last resort i turned to Malwarebytes which detected and removed all the nasty threats after only a half an hour of quick scan and Voila my computer was functioning just like a new one. I have been using Malwarebytes products since they entered the market and never had any malware/virus related problem. It catches almost any type of malware and virus and autocleans or quarantines the files. It is very stable and I do not notice any slowdown of my pc during a scan. Pros The products works pretty well. I have used it to clean up after a 'problem' in Safe Mode. It runs very quickly. Cons A few times a year they give you a free trial of their Pro version which you pay for. when that is running in real time it 'blocks' a lot of stuff. However, when you run the free version it seems to almost never find anything. I have to then find a suitable site that is not endangering my secure information that is installed. Pros I love that this software alerts me without me having to squash the Trojans and other attacks that try and demolish my programs installed on my devices. The ease of installing the software did not require too much and I have purchased it for my daughters to use on their computers. Pros Malwarebytes has been my go to virus scanner for a couple of years now since it does scanning very well. It tends to find more things than I've found with other scanners that I've tried and it helps make me more confident that my PC is virus free. Cons Sometimes the scheduling of the scans tends to be missed. It should scan every day but it'll be missed and won't have a scan for months.
