But its the system we are using so unless they try to raise prices dramatically we will likely continue along Pros It is built for companies like us and offered a construction focus Cons It does not adapt to Canadian concerns or Trade contractor concerns. We ask for improvements but because Canada would represent a small volume of their business, we find they do not want to support improvements that would help us. Our trainer was very slow and unorganized but once we knew how to use the system we have enjoyed using it. Pros We enjoy that all of our information is in one place. We can see where all our materials and subcontractors are going and easily see where we need to improve. Cons We wish there was more room for correction. You are unable to remove data once submitted. This has caused some problems. There are work arounds but they make reports cluttered. Office Manager Construction Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Customer Service Needs Help" July 6, 2023 4.0 Pros I can not describe what I like most. It is very difficult to say nice things when you are having issues. If someone asked me if they should invest in the system, I would tell them all about the customer service. Cons The least thing I like about ProContractor is their customer service. I am still waiting for help and its been 4 months. When I contact them about my open ticket they just say " we will get back to you when we can " They have now cost us in service fees and late fees more then what we pay them for a year subscription. Pros We use Procontractor primarily for estimation. It has great integration with our other Viewpoint products. Estimates are easily setup and updated. Cons Lack of feature updates. Currently cloud hosted and are forced to use it as a remote app. Would be better if it didn't require the remote app connection. Little has changed. It is great software if you can get any support, you will be lucky. Pros Its great software easy to use. Customer service is the worst I have ever seen. Cons Customer service is no good. If you go down, it takes days weeks months for someone to even call. When they call all they do is set another case and you Waite some more. I was down for 3 months due to errors on Pro contractor,. It is ridiculously expensive. Review Source DK David K. Pros It's easy to use and easy to teach new employees how to use it. Cons I'm never informed on when an update is released. Most of the plans are very hard to read when imported into the software. Plans with photographs are impossible to read when imported. Reason for choosing ProContractor Price and at the time customer service and support. July 12, 2023 4.0 Good Pros We have been using ProContractor for over 10 years now. The integration from using our old software (Sage) to ProContractor went very smooth and training was very helpful. I like that everything is separated into categories, to a certain degree. Cons I feel like there could be links between the categories, so that you didn't have to go out of one screen and into another and menu options, and that it would be much easier if it was simplified. I know 5 other companies that have tried this and left ProContractor. I believe you could make this an easier software to work with or others will leave this software for a more user friendly software. Pros I don't believe there is one PRO to this. We are moving on to a different package in the next year. Pros Procontractor has been virtually unchanged since 2015 when I began using it so I suppose it should get some points for consistency. Cons 1st Viewpoint and now Trimble has given Procontractor no support or resources to implement improvements or advance in any real way. Review Source SS Sarah S. Cons Reports are either too little information or too much info. I find myself looking at several reports to make sure I have the correct info. Also tracking errors in order to fix them is very hard. This is not a simple/user friendly software. There are many other items we should have been trained on but did not think to ask about at that time - for example month & year end journal entries. Reason for choosing ProContractor At the time, we were looking at 1 other software but heard is was based on an old platform (like American Contractor) and heard the training was terrible. Not Pros Able to open multiple screens and tabs which is helpful across multiple screens Cons Not fully customizable, have to constantly change settings, not user friendly in the field of use (accounting), some areas are convoluted, reports/queries are missing key fields, and one of the biggest pet peeves is that it is NOT geared for screen resolutions in this day and age. This program is truly awful. I would not recommend Cons Everything. The Customer Services is a JOKE. My program kept closing every time I ran a report. I opened a ticket on Nov 12 and still on Dec 27 no one has called me back. I've made at least 6 calls to their customer service for help each time waiting on the line for almost 30 min. The reports are good and have lots of options to drill down... Cons I don't like the posting necessity of transactions, making adjustments through journal entries is too time consuming and makes the financials hard to follow for a non-accountant... When I have an issue, I can usually get the issue solved in a timely fashion. Pros Pro Contractor for the most part is easy to use, and most new users need just a few hours of training to start using the program. I have never had so many complaints on a software. Pros Works when it wants... customer service is polite but not very helpful, its like they are trying to learn it at the same time they are trying to teach me... They are great at up-charging you just to get the program to function correctly for your business. Cons Data entry takes forever... every task has tons of steps and screens that you must go through. The program is very unforgiving, any mistakes you make take forever to fix and adjust. Issues take forever to get resolved or you just find a way around it and leave the issue.,.. this is not a good solution to a problem that I pay customer support to fix. Cons Sometimes it is easy to use but when billing can be easier, instead of adjusting the entry wish it could be deleted. I like how easy it is to use and the cloud system. Pros I think one of the best features now about ProContractor is the cloud. It makes using the software much easier when I can access the database from my office as well as my home office. Cons Unfortunately there are some connection issues sometimes that will cause a lag in the system when you are working on a take off. Review Source DD Doreen D.
