Would like to see the capability when setting up security features to be able to copy them from one person to another. for example one Purchase Manager to another Purchase Manager both will have the same security but have to setup each one individually. Pros There is a lot of security and there is a lot of history to see when something was done and whom did the task this is a great feature. Cons Use of the help feature very hard to understand. Cons I cannot search by an invoice number or an amount. You cannot open a transaction from the check register and adjust if needed instead it takes 3 steps. I have work on many construction accounting software and this is at the top. Easy in setting up projects. Cons When inputting PR input info will change after changing due a date correction. July 6, 2023 1.0 After we quit the program, they would not give us the data we entered that year. We keep a subscription, so we have access to the data in the event we get audited. The transition to a different software was also difficult since they were butt-hurt so they would not help. The company is dead to me. Pros The project dashboard was easy to use. Helped us understand where projects were at quickly. Cons Our accounting department had to double enter information again and again. Our choice was to drop pro-contractor to avoid hiring extra help with the data entry. Review Source RP Richard P. Cons very minor item things. On the estimating program we cannot go "back" if we digitize a line to long or in the wrong direction. Besides that, we really have no issues. Review Source DP Debbie P. Pros Horrible software, worse customer service! Cons Constantly malfunctions and doesn't do what it is supposed to do. Support is a joke and they rarely fix the problem, let alone return emails. Yes it has hundreds of bells and whistles but 99% are useless. It's obvious that whoever wrote the program was a IT person and not a construction person. I honestly can not name one thing I like about the program. Cons There are to many steps in trying to set up a bid. Having to create an estimate, then create a bid, then allocate and the numbers change, then have to go back in the summary and adjust the numbers, allocate again and it changes a couple numbers then go back to the summary and do the numbers again. Then to print a bid can be a big pain in the neck. Everything about it is horrible and not user friendly. Review Source MM MaryKate M. Cons I sometimes how to go into the programming and build my own reports, for certified payroll we have to have ethnicity on our reports. Cons The ease of use could be improved. Having used many different accounting systems, I would not recommend. Accounts Manager Construction Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Accounts Manager" July 27, 2017 5.0 I have been using the Software as ProContractor for 4 years but used the predecessor to this program (The Contractor by Maxwell) for over 17 years. I have always been pleased with the service and support by both the sales and technical support teams. They are there when you need them! Pros Flexible Product. Open database allows you the flexibility to add your own fields, customize reports and drop any report or data to excel making endless possibilities for analysis of your data. Comprehensive program that links all of your data and gives accurate analysis of your construction projects. Cons When your employees make mistake it leaves an audit trail of their mistake. Many employees wish they could just correct their mistake and cover it up. This may be a con for some but as a manager, I like being able to see the adjustments. Procontractor gives an audit trail of everything that is done but this increases the steps that it takes to correct a mistake. Review Source JH Jason H. Even truck drivers were able to figure out the time keeping. Cons Mobile time tracking and signatures don't always load. This delays my ability to monitor and approve timecard entries. Review Source PB Patricia B. accounting Construction Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Hate it - was the next step up from American Contractor but they should have left it alone " January 10, 2018 1.0 Cons Too many keystrokes needed, too many screens different screens to get the job done, not user friendly, must have been written by a programmer but then never tested out by an actual user. And the tax reports and filing that I used to do myself, now has to be done through a 3rd party which is additional money I hadn't planned on spending. Plus had a special report designed for us specifically - paid to have it done - and the 2 upgrades we've had now causes it to not work again and had to pay a 2nd and 3rd time to get it up and running again. February 20, 2017 3.0 This software has some great potential. It has the goal of almost complete coverage of a construction business process for day to day use, but it has some serious issues the limit this ability. I do believe these issues can be fixed, but at the moment they seem to be working on them. Additionally, it is not always as intuitive as their presentation makes it seem. People with lower level computer skills will have a tougher time getting proficient. Pros 1\. Great potential. With some bug fixes and some changes, this product could be so much more. 2. Covers (can cover) from estimating to collection of payments. 3. Very flexible estimating system. 4. Form and report flexibility 5. Document management 6. Above average costing ability Cons 1\. Cloud service is slow at peak times 2. Estimating flexibility could mean a user affects estimating catalog. 3. The mobile app was almost completely unusable until very recently. (I am still wary). 4. Technical support is sometimes unable to solve problems. 5. Some key documents are not in project document package. 6. State specific certified payroll not in the system. 7. Consultants do not follow through during training sometimes. 8. Expensive for a product that is not fully at its capability. Review Source JW John W. Pros For a small company it works, as it is a fully integrated construction application. User interface is well laid out. The warnings prevent unwanted postings. Processing prime contract billings is easy and well laid out. Cons It lacks the necessary attributes to be able to use third party applications, thus it is not easily expandable.By that I mean applications such as third-party HR; credit card platforms; Subcontract payment applications such as GCPay. Canned reports are limited. Reason for choosing ProContractor ProContractor was in use when I arrived. It was a legacy application acquired by Viewpoint and a new name given to it. Large improvement over our previous product suite! Pros Ease of Use! TimeCard Importing from the field is a time saver! As we continue to grow and add more employees, our current process is easily extrapolated! The Project Management side is easy to use and accurate and allows are Project Managers to quickly and accurately access the production and profitability of all of their projects! Cons Reports are challenging to customize and often times require you to hire out billable services from the company to get a report customized as you would like. December 20, 2017 4.0 Not enough to justify the cost and frustration Pros Once you get everything setup correctly its fairly streamline. It's got some weird quirks but all and all not bad. Cons Customer Service and training are terrible! Trainers do not understand the construction industry and do not listen to the clients needs. We ended up with huge mistakes and wasted training time directly due to the lack of knowledge of the trainers. It took 7 months to finalize and go live, I was told it would only take 6 weeks. Our trainer made two mistakes in our bookkeeping module and we are told we must pay for more training time! We don't need more training, we need support to reverse the mistakes THEY made. This has gone on for 16 months. We are ready to cut our losses and go to another construction software. Review Source BS Bruce S. Document tracking and creation. Pros All tabs are linked based on job and contract number. Once your templates are uploaded, it is easy to autofill information and formalize documents.
