For immediate users, you may not see momentum without a perspective of where it has been. As of current, the cloud offering shows both potential and momentum for development as well as recent additions of drill downs for reports. Reports may not be easily customizeable without some knowledge and expertise. Pros \- Great PM accounting solution (allowing for easy Contract Billing or Time and Material Billing) - Basic accounting functions - AP, AR, payroll are all functional - The new chat feature for support (makes quick questions much easier than waiting for a drawn out response) Cons \- The user interface could be updated (can be confusing and complex) - Can't integrate through API - Some design aspects and the speed of development could improve - Would benefit from some more company accounting specific improvements (like fixed asset module) Review Source BW Ben W. It serves as a central database to create, save and send documents for projects. Cons Procontractor can be difficult to manipulate. Cons We purchased the accounting and estimating software in October 2013 with the goal of going "live" on 1/1/14. Now it is May 2014 and we are live, but we have had nothing but problems with the program. Our reports have bad numbers, we have performance issues which they have told me are their internal issues that they are working on, and we have no faith in the integrity of the program or the reports. The support team seems to be overworked and has slow response time. They clearly don't seem to have idea how to get our reports to be correct and have no answers at this point. The videos on Clear View have been very helpful as well as the people who I contact for assistance. The reports are usually what I'm looking for in terms of data. If not, I can use a couple reports to obtain the data. If you can't get help with installing the product, how can you have a good perception of it? Pros Seems to be a good program for Construction estimating, etc. Cons Technical Support- Very poor, very slow to respond to my request. When they did respond, I requested an estimate of billing time it would take to help me install the product. I had a case number but instead of giving me the estimate they terminated my case due to lack of response. They also said it would be 4 to 6 weeks before I received technical assistance on my installation which is unacceptable Review Source ME Mark E. I feel that the product has been designed with best practices in mind. It's design also appears to be focused on taking advantage of new technology advances in the IT industry as a whole so that we can leverage capabilities as they become available. We very quickly found out this software must have been written by programmers not ever involved with construction as the use is terrible, takes twice as long to do things and is very nonfunctional/conforming to change. So many other software companies out there that "get it" Pro Contractor does not. Unfortunately, our accountant is comfortable with using it which in turn makes the rest of us suffer. Overall it has gone well. We utilize it AR, AP, Estimating and Project Management currently. It has greatly reduced the amount of double entry in our business. Pros The customer service and the product development had been the high points. Cons There is some functionality improvements that would make the software a truly all in one solution. Worst customer service, be prepared to be billed for any help. We implemented our Accounting section and have used the estimating module to open up projects and have found the integration feature of the software to be very helpful in providing the management information we are looking for. We had American Contractor for 20 years and it was nice to be able to transfer all our existing active data. Procontractor has much more detail and the formatting is different, but it has way more features. Cons It's been a little challenging to learn, but the customer rep has worked very hard to help get us trained. I'm not a big fan of the some of the coloring, it's a little hard to read sometimes. Also, having to reduce the size/screen resolution makes it hard to read sometimes. There are some features that are not in the program and sometimes it's a little more complicated than it needs to be. Simple can be better on occasion. Review Source AS Augie S. Cons They are great at packaging and presenting simple one-stop software for estimating, project management, HR, AP, AR, etc. The cost of the software, maintenance, and training is very expensive. They change every typical construction terminology they can to make it 'special'. A simple attachment is now a "binder item," and the estimating database is now the "catalog." I would like for them to add an undo function and the graphics are less than par, but it works well for our company's needs. Pros Will do takeoffs on multiple categories.
