This Solution allows us to estimate projects with more ease and efficiency, and also helps to track our projects more effectively. Also, we are able to speed up our process, which in turn, allows us to bid more work. Going paperless with this process has proven extremely beneficial to the streamlining and organization of our business. We highly recommend Maxwell Systems to any type of construction business. October 21, 2014 3.0 The conversion was a nightmare...the support and speed of resolving problems is worse than a nightmare and the costs are very high for the level of support. The service after the sale is lacking and everything is blamed on their buyout by Viewpoint and not having enough knowledgeable staff to efficiently and effectively answer calls. I could go on and on about my experience with this company. The software could be wonderful, but we are a year into it and still running into issues that should have been addressed earlier on. Cons Coming from QuickBooks and having no prior job costing experience, the concepts and terminology of Maxwell were a bit difficult to grasp. The training flow of the company confused this issue a bit more, but the employees of Maxwell are very approachable, easy to work with, and dedicated to making sure the system works for you. Cons It's very difficult to navigate. The reports are very limited. Some basic reports are not available, and the support response is always to export the available information and manipulate it. Cons Only that it can't create a cut sheet as part of the takeoff. This will not be important to every user. They couldn't answer any questions relating to Quickbooks integration. We find the two programs work well together and we have never had any issues with either of them. They are both very user friendly and hold tons of information. We are looking forward to one day getting it all consolidated into the one system. We would recommend these programs to anyone looking for new, easy to use, productive software! We have been using the Quest system for many years. We find this software to be similiar in nature, but with faster and more precise and accurate results, all while making our take-offs paperless. We started a commercial framing and drywall business, made a large investment with ProContractorMX, and have been fighting it for eight months. Cons WBS codes are confusing at first and can be cumbersome if all you are working on are bid item estimates. But once you get the hang of them, it can make breaking out items much easier. ProContractor is a fully integrated software that can be used with companies with different volume levels or general contractors and subcontractors. The ease of use could be improved especially in the accounting module. Customer service time is slow but improving. Pros Full integration with all the modules. Cons Not user friendly especially if you are not strong in accounting.
