Pros The MDC application is multi-platform with a consistent experience on iOS and Android. The application is responsive and quite intuitive to use even for people not familiar with GIS technology. The features of the application doesn't excessively simplify map interactions giving a lot of flexibility. The ability to capture polygons and lines from the field, use external GPS devices and to capture multiple photos associated with a single form field are stand out features. Cons Multi-user account management is not very convenient and if a large number of map projects are shared with a user it can get quite cluttered. Also the way the platform manages data makes it quite tricky to present data to individual users only for interaction via the MDC app. This can limit usefulness for some workflow requirements. Traffic Engineer Civil Engineering Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Standout Product with Great Customer Support" May 15, 2023 5.0 Pros I really appreciate the customer service that GIS Cloud provided. I had virtually no experience in the GIS world before creating my GIS Cloud account and setting up my projects. I was able to prepare a project that was more or less “idiot proof”, where every input needed for the finished database was clearly stated in the form and easily completed using the app. The field work employees didn't need to have any knowledge of GIS or complex systems; they simply followed the step by step options in the form. Then any time I had issues or received a question from field employees, GIS Cloud had a lightning fast response to help navigate the problem, which is all the more impressive considering they're based out of Europe and I'm in the United States. If I'm involved in any future projects that require GIS data management, I will certainly recommend using GIS Cloud. Cons I didn't see any missing features or options. Review Source HI Hiroo I. However, it is difficult to use for management purposes (update exsisting inventory data). I can use a base map off line environment but I cannot see points I collect until I upload points to the server... Pros Easy to design my survey forms. My team can use this on both Android and iOS devices. No coding. It is very easy to collect new field data. Cons Cannot see my collected points when it is offline. Putting points on the map is not that intuitive. No spatial video capability. It is difficult to update existing inventory data (tree and facility management). Técnico Comercial Information Technology and Services Used the software for: 2+ years ### "MDC Review - Global Code Technology" June 3, 2022 5.0 It has been great, we use GIS Cloud MDC to change the way people and industries collect their data, from paper to digital way, where we optimize their processess for swift data collection, real time quality control and automated reports which use key variables and indicators of a set location or AOI which has had their cartographic information uploaded to the MDC. Pros Overall I like the application very much, being able to collect data online of offline is the best feature, and having the downloaded map is key to the operator for guidance and it does not consume much mobile data on the phone, you can just work offline until you get to a router on base. On real time work with good internet connection, I find great how we can make quality control of the collected points to improve our field collection data and the way we give the usage lessons. Finally it´s easy to integrate with our business due to the file types and easy settings. Cons Personally I don´t have troubles using the software, but older people need a little more time to get used to the application and need more practice to get the proper usage and trust that the information has been uploaded. The feature that could be improved is the selection of pinpoint location or GPS, being able to switch gives the operator too much freedom and can be used improperly, I believe it would be great if we could limit this change. Needs one or two examples to train new users, very easy to implement and use. Pros The MDC connected to our DB, what helps us collect all the data from the field directly to our stats and dashboard. The collector is really good and working with no issues. You can use it in different kinds of fields like i'm using it in architectural conservation. That's the important thing of GISCloud MDC. Pros I was looking for an easy way for collecting data on site and I found GIScloud MDC. Both creating online survey on website and using app on field is really easy. You can create your own survey method including adding photos in this survey. If you want you can change or develop your survey later. Cons Personally i don't have troubles using the software. Data collection forms customization are straight forward, and updates are easily refreshed on all MDC apps. This tool has helped our NGO to easily collect data on the field even with poor/no internet connectivity and later uploading these to the cloud server.
