The assistance we received from Kapil, however; made this learning process much easier. Kapil was extremely responsive, detailed, and overall a great resource for support. Pros The familiarity of the software that we were replacing (Winshuttle). Cons The query scripts seem to be overly complicated, especially compared to Winshuttle. We are about a month away from rolling out the tool to end users so this will have a big impact on our overall experience. Pros The mapping tool is powerful. Using Excel as the end user interface makes it easy for non-technical people to use the software. The tool simplifies mass data load and extraction in/out of SAP. Finally the cost of Process Runner made it more attractive than other tools. Cons The learning curve for writing scripts is a little steep for people who have had no experience with other tools like Process Runner. Our company is moving from Winshuttle to Process Runner and we are finding some differences between the tools that make it more difficult to create certain scripts. I can also make that performed after I have left my office using the scheduler. Pros Process Runner is very secured and very easy to use for non-IT people. It enables any SAP business user to upload/download and update SAP data in mass in a few seconds. Cons Franckly, nothing. It allows me to quickly and reliably upload data from Excel to SAP without requiring deep technical knowledge. Almost any transaction can be automated, whether in SAP R/3 or S/4HANA. Especially during system migrations, this is a huge advantage because large amounts of data can be processed efficiently. Cons So far, I have found very few limitations. We use the application for uploading & downloading the data. It is easy to develop & easy to use in production than the Code changes in SAP. We upload & download Thousands of records from different SAP Modules. Pros Process Runner is simple to deploy. It doesn't any special access to upload/download the data. In the first we started using Process Runner as a backup application & now it is being competent to the tools like LSMW,DART. The tool is very user friendly. Now in the organization when there is a topic huge/mass upload then we think of Process Runner. Any usecase that needs to be performed on SAP GUI we think on Process Runner. When we struck with something either technical,functional/admin any kind of issues the support we get from the team is really wonderful. They not only fix the issue but will also guide us on adopting to the best ways of working. Thanks to the entire team for being available just a ping/mail away. Looking to continue the relationship with Process Runner & also the great support that we get from the team. Cons I would like to get the connectivity to the SAP web portals through Process Runner. I also got communication that this is covered as part of SAAS model, but I am yet to check the feature as we are still on perpetual model. Each script contains examples and I follow these to make sure the data has a good quality. Pros process Runner is the only way to mass upload data into SAP, it saves us tons of time and hours of boring work, plus it also asure a certain quality of the uploaded data as we can follow patterns that have been used before. Cons It is kind of complicated to program a script. It has done wonders for my department and for our organization. Not only do we use it in 90% of our daily processing, it also has enabled us to develop a solution when we have had needs in others areas of the business on an ad hoc basis. We have realized our investment many times over. Great product!!! Pros The software was very easy to implement. We did so without IT involvement. The product is extremely user friendly. In SAP, we previously used LSMW's. We changed all of our processes to Process Runner. This allowed us to be more flexible to in meeting every-changing business requirements. We were able to automate processes to the point where reduced staffing by 33%. The product paid for itself in one year. Cons There really was not anything to not like about the software. At times, the response from customer service was not always helpful the first time around, but we would eventually get there to resolve the issue. It reduced training time for our master data team, as well as empowering them to manage the their data without the need for IT resources. Pros It enabled us to move away from the SAP LSMW tool for mass management of master data in SAP. We were able to eliminate the need for a programmer to run mass updates, enabling the work to be done within our master data team with limited IT support on a day-to-day basis. Cons For a SMB, the cost per license is high. Pros With a database license, we use process runner to replace most of the most repetitive tasks in Sap, including order placements, data change, subsitutions/transitions, and document cancellation. Cons It can get costly, and licensing can be difficult to manage if you don’t go with an enterprise or server license. Since it is generally tied to a user, it’s hard to arrange backups for people who vacation and our primary developer has to work often for an hour even on her vacation days if the business itself is open and running. Cons Regardless of the transaction, you may require a more in-depth understanding of the functioning, attributes, and specific instructions to save. Our entire Engineering change process is built on it. Pros Process Runner is simple to deploy. It uses existing SAP security and requires no special installation or server-side changes to use. It's simple to get started, but it can do so much. After nearly 10 years, there is no SAP process that Process Runner has not been able to automate. When I do find something I can't figure out, I can turn to customer support and often get a solution in a few hours. Just today, we talked about updating 150,000 line items. Other groups in the business gasped and talked about the days it would take to do. My team just shrugged and told the managers, " We have Process Runner, it'll take a few hours." Cons I would really like enhanced threading. Multi-thread processes are wonderful, but sometimes updates will fail because the record is locked due to another update.
