Also, supports QR code for adding accounts. They also updated it so that the codes are masked when you open the app and tap on the account you will only be using so it protects other accounts from peaking. I am using google authenticator for my Gmail account to secure one step ahead. We are storing crucial data over Gmail and I like QR codes to authenticate which is really too fast. Like Gmail, we can integrate google authenticator on other applications that contain more sensitive data just like Git. When I log in to the Git account, it asks me for two-factor authentication. Cons Google Authenticator entirely discards desktops from the equation, with no support for Windows, Linux, and macOS. Opening the app and finding the code makes it a seamless experience. Cons Two things the Google Authenticator has is displaying all of the connected applications and the timer. Since codes reset after a certain amount of time, if you log in at the incorrect time you may have to wait for the code to reset. Pros I really like how google helps me secure my accounts with the 2 step verification process, I rarely worry about getting hacked nowadays all thanks to this software. Cons It's a great app but I feel it can be improved with the ability to scan QR codes in-app. What I mean is, usually you have to scan your code with your camera from another device, it's an headache when you don't have two devices with you, but if it can be improved to scan screenshot images with QR codes even in the app, it would be fantastic.
