Cons For me, the main reason to pay for Google One is the extra storage. Google One is a set-and-forget cloud backup tool for 95% of regular users out there. However, even as someone with technical expertise who cares about pure uptime, speed of data access, and immediate customer support, I feel comfortable recommending it to others. Pros Google One provides an amazing cloud storage ecosystem which is very consistent and uniform. From the architecture point of view, cross-product synchronization of Gmail, Drive and Photos provides a seamless data pipeline which is better than that provided by many third-party fragmented storage services. Regarding Storage and Value for Money, Google One's scaling of storage tiers is done brilliantly in such a way that you can scale your storage across different Google Family groups without having to do any administrative work. As for Ease of Use, the device backups are entirely automatic, and File Sharing access controls are also easy to implement. However, the thing that amazed me most was Google One's Customer Support service. I made a mistake of initiating a wrong subscription of about 2000 rupees in my backup Google One account, but when I contacted Google One customer support about it, it took only 20 minutes for the assistant to resolve it and give me a complete refund. Cons Google One’s weakness when it comes to power users is in the File Management and Device Compatibility settings. This service does not have native block-level sync capabilities, and the select sync settings seem restrictive when compared with command line tools such as rclone. It has made managing my storage much easier, especially since I take a lot of pictures and keep important documents in Google Drive. The app is easy to navigate, everything stays backed up automatically, and I've never had issues accessing my files from different devices. For the price, I think it's a great value if you're already using Google's services. Pros I like how easy it is to use. It gives me extra storage without having to constantly delete photos, videos, or emails. Everything syncs across my devices, and backing up my phone is simple. I also like that I can access my files from anywhere as long as I'm signed into my Google account. Cons I honestly don't have many complaints. The only thing I wish is that the lower storage plans included a few more premium features, but overall it does exactly what I need it to do.
