"Podcast cloned for no reason and poor audio quality "

**Overall:** Hubhopper seemed to me a good alternative to Transistor for hosting multiple podcasts on a single account, without paying extra fees. But as the months went by, the quality of their service deteriorated. It starts with the inability to play episodes with chapters from Apple Podcast, so it's no longer possible to create enhanced episodes. All my podcasts hosted with them are duplicated on Apple Podcast: in fact, Hubhopper has cloned the podcasts with the same RSS feed. According to them, this is because the main podcast is left over from a transfer from a previous host. So I have to claim their cloned podcast and delete the old one. But if I do that, I'll lose all the subscribers I've managed to get over the years. For a company that supposedly specialises in podcasts, this action seems totally absurd. The only difference between the two versions of the podcasts is that they have added their Indian parent company \[sensitive content hidden\] as a supplier. It's a bit of misplaced advertising. They answer half the questions when you send them an email, and don't even answer my requests for explanations any more. Finally, on my latest podcast, the episodes have very poor sound quality: you can hear audio artefacts due to over-compression of the voices, which makes listening difficult. Hubhopper deliberately degrades the sound of the episodes by re-encoding them at 64 kb/s. So I'm looking for a new host for my podcasts, and I can't recommend Hubhopper as a reliable host for your podcast.

**Pros:** The possibility of having several podcasts under the same account, at no additional cost

**Cons:** \-Unable to play episodes with chapters from Apple Podcast -Poor sound quality: episodes uploaded at 320 kb/s are automatically re-encoded at 64 kb/s -Podcasts are cloned into Apple Podcast for no reason -No customer support

**Alternatives Considered:** [Transistor](https://www.capterra.com/p/231028/Transistor/)

**Reasons for Choosing Hubhopper:** There was a deal on appsumo that allowed you to do without a recurring subscription

**Switched From:** [Podcastics](https://www.capterra.com/p/10005007/Podcastics/) and [Ausha](https://www.capterra.com/p/234628/Ausha/)

**Reasons for Switching to Hubhopper:** The possibility of having several podcasts with a single account at no extra cost

Hi Alexandre, We sincerely apologize for the confusion. Hubhopper does not "clone" podcasts. When you published your podcast on Hubhopper, a new RSS feed was generated and distributed to Apple Podcasts as selected. The duplicate listing exists because your podcast was also submitted to Apple Podcasts via another hosting platform, creating two versions—one from Hubhopper and one from your previous provider. If you were migrating, a 301 redirect would have been needed to merge both feeds and prevent duplication. We also warn users not to redistribute to platforms where their show was previously submitted. To resolve this, claim the Apple Podcasts listing you wish to keep, update its RSS feed to your latest Hubhopper feed, and retain all subscribers. You can then request Apple to remove the duplicate. Please note that we do not re-encode audio files to 64 kbps. We maintain the highest audio quality, ensuring files remain at 320 kbps for optimal sound clarity.
