I couldn't work without it anymore. Recommend it 100%. Pros It's fast to get started, so you save time right away. The process of creating templates is easy. I love their dropdowns and boxes I can check. My EMR also has templates but I prefer to use Dilato, because it's simpler to build templates and I can insert dot phrases in any fields in the EMR. Cons Dilato doesn't have a web app, so you have to download the app to use your templates. Also, I hope it will soon be possible to share templates (I saw it's planned on their roadmap page). I love that there are certain frequently used elements such a normals and pertinent negatives, that I will never have to type again. My neck, fingers and wrists all thank me! I love how my customizable templates and features follow me wherever I work so that I am not at the mercy of whatever EMR the facility I am working at uses. I also no longer have to waste time pulling out my phone or opening a new tab or program to search through my notes as I can just input key pearls into my templates. Pros Dilato is absolutely amazing! I’m a family physician and I use this product for charting and note storage. I regret not knowing about such a product sooner as it has made me so much more efficient and has turned charting into much less of a chore. Integrating charting templates with annotated reminders and medical notes that don’t appear in the chart, is such a smart concept. Not only does this centralize my workflow but it also allows me to tag templates about any given topic with reminders and clinical pearls. Accessing templates with shortcuts is such a joy. Type a few letters of your choosing and your templates pop up immediately. With a simple click or Ctrl+V, you can insert your template anywhere your cursor goes. The portability of this software is a major advantage as well. Every template is accessible wherever you place your cursor across any computer or program, whether you work at multiple clinics with different EMRs, the hospital, or at home writing a medico-legal report. If you relocate or are trying a new clinic or facility, Dilato and your templates follow you. The new version is quite user friendly with upgrades occurring regularly. I very much see myself using this as my primary note storage software in the future when formatting annotated text improves. Can’t see myself not using Dilato anymore! Cons To be fair, the “Multi-Select Dropdown” feature has room for improvement, as when you have many items, especially if long items such as sentences, text goes off page and managing that feature because a bit of a headache, but with short items and small lists, it works as advertised. I prefer using the “Checkbox Grid” feature anyhow, so this doesn’t bother me too much. The icons and the names used for the various checkbox features were not initially that intuitive but they have improved and once you start using Dilato regularly you get the hand of it very quickly so it doesn’t matter that much. I am still waiting for formatting and in-template search features to be added for use in annotated text, that way I can start fully depending on Dilato to start storing notes for reference. I hear this is in the works. The developer is very responsive to suggestions, so I have no doubt these are around the corner. There’s this neat new feature called logic, which is still in its infancy, but shows a lot of potential. At the moment, it still has a programmer feel to it, but in their defence, they rolled it out admitting it’s an experimental feature. I think it has great potential once they smooth out the corners and am confident that they will.
