I would recommend people to try it. Pros I added the chrome extension of this app and now it can read out any document and page on my system. It saves me a lot of time. I do a lot of copyediting and my brain gets tired. Being able to listen to the text aloud helps me focus and go faster. In fact, I have trained my brain to listen at 5x the speed so I can power through editing at record pace! I love the web app or browser extension I use both. Pros \- The ability to listen at 5X the speed. This helps me edit articles so much faster which is crucial for my job - The variety of accents. I love the British male voice! - The ability to scan even written text and turn that into text to speech Cons There's nothing I don't like about Speechify Text to Speech! The only pro I can think of was that it has an app although unusable. " January 25, 2025 5.0 It's been very good so far, I wish I remembered to use it more often because I always enjoy it when I do. Pros I use Speechify to help me ingest long-form text documents. I read a lot for my work (and for pleasure) and Speechify alleviates the stress on my eyes and gives me a new way to take in info. I also love the narrator voice selections! Having Snoop Dog read you a long, boring document is a game changer! I also recommend it to my clients. The product of my work is very text-heavy, which doesn't work for everyone. Speechify helps them take in and learn the information they paid for. I also like that I can be mobile while listening to long documents. It opens up time to get some movement into my work day. Cons I don't always remember to use it, I'm so used to reading everything. I tend to reach of it when my eyes are weary, but I should use it more often. " July 28, 2022 5.0 Speechify has helped me save time, get more reading done while simultaneously getting other work done, balance my professional life and student life by reading texts to me, as this frees me up to work on multiple projects and be present for my team while also getting some reading done for my academic program. Pros Okay, as a student in an MBA program, a sales team supervisor, AND a mom of two, I'm short on time all the time. Speechify allows me to not only multitask while having information read to me that I would've otherwise been glued to a single page to read, but it allows me to speed it up! I'm a fast reader and, did I mention short on time? So, the faster reading feature is super helpful. Cons Sometimes, the software will pause after titles or changes in sections and this forces you to stop what you're doing, revisit the page/tab, and press play multiple times. It doesn't happen often, just on pages or documents with a lot of section titles. This is my only con thus far. Review Source SS Somi S.
