Pros This product helped me out when i was in a crunch. I needed to send out questionnaires in a short space of time. I was able to do that with this product. Questionnaires were sent out for my survey and because it was sent to individuals emails i was able to receive a large amount in a short space of time. It was also great because the data can be presented in simple tabular format for ease of use and analysis. The data can also be extracted to use in SPSS or excel. Cons It has so much potential for big data and to use for more complex data analysis. We are constantly monitoring whether our guests receive the experience that they are promised when they first become a customer. Pros I rated customer support although I've never spoken to them and never had a need to. I didn't want to give them a low or average rating, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt with a 4-star :) Truly, this is software that you can set up with little to no management on a regular basis. When you are ready, you can pull the data you've collected and do some fancy filtering when your team needs further insight into one aspect of your data collection. It's a no brainer to add this to your business process. Cons For the most part, I don't have any! Plus they have a monkey in their logo... who doesn't love that? In both experiences I found participant interaction and completion to be quite steady thanks to the attractive UI. Were I to create surveys on a regular basis I would probably find myself coughing up the cash so I could keep the data and run a variety of reports. The data is solid, but keeping it with the free version is difficult. Pros This app provides more options than other free counterparts like Google. It’s also for more aesthetically pleasing ‘s and I found clients more likely to participate with a survey monkey survey than others. Cons Exporting data is difficult with the free version. They also don’t maintain the information in their database past a certain number of months. It’s not impossible Since members can pay for more features, but free sole proprietor who can’t afford a pricey subscription it can be rather limiting. The software itself is simple to use and is incredibly straightforward and surveys themselves are quick and easy to setup. Overall a great product and it allows us to get a wide range of diverse answers to the questions we ask! Pros Survey Monkey is great for sending out quick customizable surveys to large audiences. The way they convey the stored data from participants is also greatly appreciated as they make it incredibly easy to understand by providing easy to read charts and tables. Overall survey monkey is an incredibly user-friendly platform, and they are doing things right in terms of design and ease of use. Cons A bit pricey for smaller establishments and the free version is very limited in what you can do with it. I would also say the survey analyzation tool could be improved in a few areas, however apart from that the software is great! At one point it felt like a ghost business. If there is a phone support number I could never find it. Email response takes days and sometimes weeks. Use the product but hope you do not need support. Pros Nice customisation available. Applying our own branding was fairly easy. Completing a survey as a user feels slick and snappy. Cons I needed to deploy this via API. To get the survey results relied on Webhooks. That took me awhile to get right. What I truly found frustrating was the cap on API calls (500). To lift the cap meant taking our account to a commercially unacceptable price. Five times our existing plan to double our API. Calls. In addition it took weeks to hear back from customer service. They only got in touch after I went public on Facebook. This allows you to make some more logically complex surveys, which can be useful in collecting more accurate information. Cons Compared to other options (like Typeform) Survey Monkey really lags behind in the visual design department. With the proliferation of things like Canva, Typeform, SquareSpace, etc - services that put aesthetics at the forefront - there's really no excuse to not have a greater focus on how the surveys look. It's not a huge drawback, because the data collection is good, but from a user experience side the visuals just aren't as nice as other options. I liked the design and colors of the themes. For my research, the option to limit respondents to certain criteria was a very good option. Lastly, I received quick data information from respondents, and SurveyMonkey analyzed if participants answered all the survey questions or only a few. That was a big help since I had three online surveys. Cons It can be complicated to set up and use all its features. There was no option to speak with a customer representative, only a help menu. Also, when I exported my data to Excel I noticed columns of information that were not included in my surveys. So I had to delete the columns each time I exported the data. I couldn’t afford the subscription which allows the user to export to SPSS, but I managed my data okay without that feature.
