I prefer to do my own statistics anyway. It is clear that the company is working to improve the product and catch up with the competition. For the low to mid-level users, it is a great choice at a good price. For more advanced users, or those looking for an easy commercial output, other products are better. Pros Surveymonkey is very popular and has a great price -- especially with a site license. it is versatile in both question format and look of the survey. With question suggestions, it is great for the beginner. It produces some useable graphics and tables easily. Data can be exported easily into other data programs. Cons Surveymonkey is running behind other products. Data analysis is not as easy or as complete as in the competition. The look of surveys could be updated. Pros I have only used Survey monkey a few times, but each time has been a very enjoyable and intuitive experience. Adding questions of various types (text, multiple choice, etc) couldn't be easier. And reviewing the results of your survey gives you quite a few convenient ways to visualize the results. All for free. What's not to love? Cons I don't honestly recall not liking much about SurveyMonkey. However, I think I wished I could have made a tiny edit after sending out the survey. But I totally understand why that wasn't possible, because it would have basically invalidated the results because different users would have seen different questions. From Why Not Shop? to Promotion Response to How Often You Visit? to Awareness, I've gotten answers to all of this and more. Cons I love this software, there's not much negative to say about it. Pros I use Survey Monkey on a monthly basis to get feed back into all kinds of things. I reach out to my team and poll them on the effectiveness of initiatives, action items for the next team meeting, and general feedback. I also use it to get feed back on specific events or items we have completed to better understand the successes and failures of each item. With this feedback I am better equipped to adapt for the next time around. Survey MOnkey makes all of this data gathering simple and easy. Cons There is a delicate balance of how many surveys you should send out. You dont want to survey out your staff. Its also important to make sure that its not a survey for surveys sake. I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great tool in creating fantastic surveys! Pros SurveyMonkey makes creating surveys a piece of cake. It allows a large number of participants and this is awesome. It also gives you a direct link, which by the way works on facebook, and this is a BIG PLUS! More and more professionals are using Facebook as a social media platform and it is a big help that the links actually work! It is very easy to use and it allows you to structure different questions and get detailed answers from your intended audience. Not only that, its reporting features are excellent! Cons I just wish that they could add more templates and improved designs. Surveys must be catchy and need to be pleasing to the eyes. They can do this by allowing graphics/videos to be added on the surveys. I also hope that they could allow users to personalize the survey even more by being able to bold or underline certain words that need emphasis. I do not use it often enough to excuse paying for a frequent membership but when I get to a point where I would like to find out what my clients are thinking, I would go for Surveymonkey over GoogleForms. Pros There is a lot to like about SurveyMonkey, honestly. There are templates catered to whatever audience you are trying to reach; for example, you can ask your ideal clients how to get their business or you could ask your current customers how their experiences have been. They provide lists of individuals that you can purchase to try and market to that group. It's very user friendly and laid out quite well. People know the "SurveyMonkey" name so when they receive a survey in their email, they feel more comfortable opening it. Unlike Google Forms, you do not need to register a domain. You also get analytics with each survey. Cons There are some places where I feel that they nickel and dime you. I had to pay to upload my company logo to a survey - even after paying for a membership. It is very convenient for me and for those that I send the surveys out to. I really like having a formatted survey to get answers to many questions from many people in an easy way. Pros What I love most about this software is the ability to use it for multiple purposes. You can use it to gather data about the different things people believe and experience. You can also use it to gather data for food and environmental preferences for events and activities. I also like being able to format the questions the way I want to, with multiple choice answers, fill in the blanks, short answers, etc. Cons I wish I could do more with the data I gather without having to pay for it. I wish all the extra data featured on SurveyMonkey was free to everyone. SurveyMonkey makes it so simple to fill out a survey that most of us hate to do. The UI is very user-friendly and almost makes filling out a survey fun. I definitely prefer to take a SurveyMonkey survey than the old school way with snail mail. Cons Don't really have too many complaints. February 21, 2019 5.0 Overall, I really like Survey Monkey and what it can do. I like how it presents the information after the survey. I would like a simpler format sometimes when I want to print, but other than that - good product. Not great, but good. Pros It's very easy to use and you can put together a nice looking survey in a few minutes. It also keeps old surveys, so you can always go back and reuse an old one with just a bit of editing. Cons What you pay for is almost comparable to what you get for free from other survey sites. The things that you don't get with other sites, like your responses compared to national averages and stuff....doesn't really mean much in my business. Also, with all the cool things you can do now with graphics and stuff, I feel like Survey Monkey should up thier game with what we can make surveys do. Pros Setting up a survey was easy. I really liked the reporting tool and the summary report is great!!!! Cons Initial setup was tricky and setting up users on the account was confusing the recipients. Not clear. Reason for choosing SurveyMonkey We also use Google Forms/Surveys as well. If we need to generate a summary /report and depending on what the survey is about we would use Survey Monkey for that purpose. We have since moved to Qualtrics as we have a campus account. Pros It's fairly easy to set up and free to access. We did also have a paid account for a couple of years in order to access additional data functions. Cons There are some limitations to the free version that are not obvious until after it affects you. For example, I did not realize that with the 100 response limit for survey that comes with the free version, if you have more than 100 responses, even if you delete your oldest responses because you've already dealt with the data, the responses #101 and onward will not be accessible.
