Pros Can quickly set up, customize, and transmit surveys to clients, email lists, potential clients, or social media users. Works great as a first run focus group tool. It is so easy to create surveys and quizzes with the simple user interface. I also love it because I can gather feedback from my clients by sending them a link or sharing it through email or social media. Pros SurveyMonkey is the only survey tool I've ever used and it's great. The dashboard is really easy to navigate and lets me see all of my surveys, polls, quizzes and their completion rates. It's allowed me to answer questions that I've been wondering about for a long time, like "What are my clients most interested in?" Cons Customising survey design could be easier. On the other end I'm not as familiar but it is easy when o have used it in the past. It organizes the info into usable tables and charts for easy retrieval. I have used in for two different companies that I have worked with and it allows me to personalize my surveys depending on the topics. The program is very easy to use and the pre made report analysis is great for presenting the information. Pros SurveyMonkey made creating a survey extremely easy. It is as easy as clicking and dragging your desired question style into the pre made template. The report analysis is also very detailed and breaks down answers into graphs that makes it easy to present. Cons If you want to use some of the extra features, you will have to upgrade your account. It could get a little pricey if you do not do surveys a lot. The free version only gives you so many responses. Pros We didn't use the premium package so the functionality was somewhat limited (only a certain number of questions and responses). That said, it is easy to create your survey and there are a good number of options when it comes to question types. Cons I only really needed to use it once or twice, so didn't want to sign up for the full (more expensive) version. This meant that I had to split everything in to 2 surveys to cover everything I needed. Yes, this is me being cheap, but for occasional users it would be nice to buy surveys with full functionality on a per-survey basis rather than on a monthly subscription. Pros Survey Monkey's user interface is a model of transparency and ease of use. The dashboard incorporates onboarding, knowledge sharing, and easy access to user surveys. It looks good; it works well. I found the HootSuite integration to be particularly helpful and interesting. Cons SurveyMonkey seems to be missing an opportunity here by not offering conversational forms and competing directly with TypeForm. The free plan is kind of useless, especially compared to Google Forms. Unlimited surveys don't mean much if you can't do anything with the data. What better way than find a product that will produce all of your questions and give you the answers you have been looking for. It really helps to get a large number of request in one bucket. Pros In the company we use this to get a general idea of what co-workers want. We have used this from deciding on big project to what coffee machine we should buy. What I like about this is that’s its real user friendly. Not only does it help your company but each survey help charities. I support this companies business practice. Cons There isn’t really much that I dislike about this website in general. I sometimes end up taking surveys from other companies besides my own, so a lot of people seem to use it.Compared to other survey websites I really think this is the most user friendly. I have never had to look for another tool for survey. The post survey analysis is also made very simple through the software. Pros SurveyMonkey helps me build my survey using different types of questions. Whether it is using multiple choices, single choice, mandatory questions, required field or open questions, the tool is capable of incorporating any and every type of questions. All I have to do is generate a link and embed it in my email to my customers. That's awesome. Cons I wish I didn't have to direct customers to an external link. There should be a way to embed the survey within the email itself so that I don't digress customers from the main email content. It will fulfil the needs of your surveying initiative. Pros I initially used Survey Monkey to assist in the launch of a friend's game style cafe. We used it to gather data on customer play styles, preferences, and opinions. It worked phenomenally well and I was amazed at the accessibility of all of the data and how succinctly it correlated it all. It was quick to access and check updates and made noticing trends an instant capability. Cons The site maxs' the number of surveys you can view (I'm not sure on the exact number, but it is fairly low) which, while receiving the data regarding those surveys you CAN see is simple, the fact that you don't get the full picture can be frustrating. The word survey is limiting, because the amount of information and more that I can glean by making one survey monkey form is more valuable than a 'survey' would be. I use survey monkey for both business and community engagement, just to get a feel for what those I'm working with are thinking. Cons I feel that, sometimes, I'm held back some of the options. I understand that a platform can't be completely customizable, but with the amount of personal touches I put into my surveys, I'm frustrated sometimes when I run into a wall preventing some tasks. It's easy to build and to use, but if you are only sending out surveys a few times a year it may not be the right choice. You would be paying quite a bit for not a lot of use. It really depends on how much you plan to use the platform. Pros I like that building a survey in this software is very easy. They offer a wide selection of question options such as ranking, drag and drop, multiple choice, etc. The building of a quiz is for anybody and can take less than five minutes if you have all of the information ready. The ability to track the responses and learn more about your audience is an added bonus that anyone should take advantage of. Cons The cons are the pricing models available. I feel as though the prices are a bit steep for monthly billing on a survey platform. In addition, the free service only allows you a certain number of responses per survey that you send out. So, if you send a survey out to 300 people, you may only be able to see 100 of the responses. And, with the expensive price tiers, it may not be an option for everyone. Review Source Jason (JB) B. They allow you to get your payouts quickly and will send you reminders to take surveys. Cons This software just like others similar to it sometimes will have you start a survey and even get a few minutes into it and then you don't qualify for that survey. I currently use this program the most to capture feedback from corporate training classes and at times will need to add to or change criteria on some of my survey questions. I also like how the program allows for multiple choice, true/false and open-ended questions which allow individuals the ability to provide additional feedback for my training classes. Cons I have not had the easiest time with the reporting tools. It took a little work and research to figure out the reports that would fill my needs but now that I am more comfortable with reporting, it's easy to run the reports I need for my surveys. I like sending surveys to clients so we can see where we are doing well and where we need to work on things and this free product is very beneficial. Pros I enjoyed how easy it was to use their templates. It was also pretty easy to add pictures. I enjoyed their statistics after sending an email, and the ability to resend one if it needed to go multiple times. I also liked that you could send it to hundreds of people at a time. Cons I did not like how you have to add the emails and contact info for multiple people. It wasn’t so much difficult as it was time consuming and slightly frustrating when you had a simple issue. Reason for choosing SurveyMonkey We didn’t really have any other alternatives. Our upper management didn’t want to put a lot of money into it at first, but since we’ve started, they really think the feedback is great and useful!
