" October 18, 2018 5.0 Pros I use Survey Monkey multiple times during my work week. I find it to be an effective way to gather critical data to better business with current and future clients. The ability to copy previous surveys and survey question styles makes use easy and time-effective. The NPS survey is something every business should know sbout itself. I especially like the new "Present Results" dashboards - it allows for simple visual presentations in a condesned view in one spot. Cons I have been a Survey Monkey user for many years and have watched development grow and change. There have been a few features I was not a fan of in the past, but they have since changed, and I can no longer recall any issues I had. I overall recommend this product. February 19, 2020 5.0 Love SurveyMonkey! I use it so often with my alumni volunteers at our University to get their feedback. One thing i find interesting is a lot of people have no problem accessing survey monkey on any server, which i think is unique. Many people who have a preferred email as their business email, they can't access google forms/surveys i send, but they CAN access Survey Monkey - so its always my go to! Pros It is so easy to get started on a survey, share it, edit if needed, collect and analyze data! You can export the data right into an excel spreadsheet to manipulate, create additional charts if needed, and share with others the results. Survey Monkey even provides their own fun and engaging charts of your results that you can directly share with others if you don't need to dig deeper. They have fun interactive survey features, as well as templates you can use from similar other surveys and an easy way to archive and refer back to your surveys. Cons Nothing bad to report! Even with the basic/free version you get a lot of features and as you want more features, you obviously need to up your subscription to unlock additional features that better cater to your needs. Additionally, it makes it simple to distribute surveys via sizable email lists, and the analytic component is really helpful. Cons As much as we would like, it does not fully support customising survey design. The price models may not always be suitable for the needs of the company or the size of the organisation. Pros Fairly inexpensive and useful for setting up surveys for your own panels. Cons Survey Monkey's proprietary user panels were extremely inconsistent - I would not recommend their use for professional surveys. Customer service was abysmal, emails took over 24 hours to get a reply. They had a payment outage and refused to continue a stopped survey. This caused a nearly a week-long delay for a survey with an estimated "24 hour" completion time. Van Westendorp survey analysis uses a different UI and dashboard than their standard surveys for some odd reason - the issue is it lacks even basic filtering and sorting tools and is practically unusable. I had to calculate rudimentary data using excel which tripled the time required for basic analysis. Review Source OD Okunade D. December 14, 2018 5.0 Pros So far, the tool has been absolutely wonderful. There are a bunch of variables and the amount of options available at the FREE level, but especially at the PAID level we started. The options are great, helping you see different ways you can survey. I developed a survey for 75 participants in an event and needed their feedback. I had typed up some ideas and it was super easy to just copy and paste into the Survey Monkey interface and it was able to interpret my questions into the various question forms I needed! Genius! It also does an evaluation of your survey's "quality" by a scale system they've created. I didn't see it so much as an evaluation but a way to consider an optimal survey structure. Great help. The results, too, have been great, able to keep a track on user comments, reviews, etc. Cons The emailing system was completely confusing. I still don't know if I got the survey out to everyone I needed to. It uses .CSV vs Excel regular sheets to organize as one of the options (which is how we organize this kind of info) and it didn't relate at all. It struggled with names with spaces, etc. So copying and pasting the list of emails into the "email to" list was also an issue; the menu didn't expand, you couldn't see all the options, etc. Really needs to be looked at as it should be just as easy and useful as the other tools. Holds it back a bit for sure. Right from offering me templates I can use to providing a simple way to create my surveys, I will say it provides all my needs as a user and I am proud to say I am a very happy one. Pros You can use SurveyMonkey to create surveys for research projects and you can also use it to take customer satisfaction responses. It has an intuitive and beginner-friendly interface which makes it easy to create surveys. They have very good templates too you can use to quickly create your desired survey. It's an easy way to receive input from staff that are working in a lot of different locations. Also easy to run reports after if needed. Cons Found it difficult to use in some browsers, but as long as I was creating the surveys in Google Chrome there were no problems. I have used SurveyMonkey from things as simple as polling friends for where to have a celebration to asking for feedback on a new product rollout. Pros SurveyMonkey allows you to quickly poll a group of people as well as create long-form questionnaires to garner feedback. This is really important in both business and social organizations. It is a free service which also is appealing. I have been using SurveyMonkey for years and have been satisfied. Cons I really don't have any complaints about using SurveyMonkey. I have used SurveyMonkey as both a survey creator and survey taker over the years and have only had positive experiences. When we use for internal surveys (inside our company) it works well. We tried twice for external surveys and the results were mixed. We use only the paid version for external. Would like for more features and would prefer to better customize my own metrics. Pros It is easy to put together a basic survey. I have used both the free and upgrade versions. It's simple to send the survey out as well and to get feedback. Data can be generated automatically and quickly. Good metrics. Time stamping and more. Cons To be fair, the options on the free version are understandably less. But setting up a survey on the free version is wonky and limited. We only have used for internal. On the paid version you have more options but I'm not impressed with many of the templates. I do try to keep in mind it is a low cost option. They even have the Genius Assistant (now in beta testing) that helps you design the questionnaire for you! Once you receive the results, it is also easy to gather data because they have automatically created the charts for you. Cons It requires more than just a sign up. They gather your info like your role, where you work, what survey questions are suitable for you, how many questions are suitable for your questionnaires. These are quite nonsensical to be honest, because SurveyMonkey is not a social media tool, we don't go on SurveyMonkey to spend lots of time there. We just wanna create our questionnaire, send it out and be done with. For the reasons of simplicity, I'd actually prefer good old Google Form over SurveyMonkey. We use SurveyMonkey to collect usability and likability data at the end of our study and scrutinize our participants' experience. The software was much appreciated by our participants, as it makes easy and simple to fill our surveys. On the research side, we have appreciated the variety of tools that can be used to build questionnaire as well as the immediate representation of data! Highly recommended! Pros The best thing about SurveyMonkey is how extremely easy it is to learn and get used to. My first experience with SM was as a student working on my final year thesis and preparing to send out questionnaires to my respondents. Within 24 hours of visiting their website for the first time, I had already deployed my first survey. The process was so easy and stress-free for me that I earned some money doing it for other students as well. Cons To be honest, until I got introduced to other more robust survey software later as a professional researcher, I didn't find anything about SM that I didn't like. But now, I can say that they lacked a lot of functions that could have made my work so much easier, especially when it comes to handling and managing the incoming data. Review Source Angela V. Pros I could create quick, simple surveys to gather basic feedback or do more complex surveys to gather more comprehensive information. I liked the ability to add logic to questions so the answer to a question determined the next question that was given. I also appreciated being able to determine the kind of question being asked. The premium version gives users the ability to create lengthy surveys without limiting the number of questions or participants. Cons There are some limits to using logic to determine which question will be next. We were not able to set multiple users on the same account so everyone had access to all of the surveys. It's easy to use so you can even send out a survey for small projects or something as simple as voting on lunch for a meeting. The design is good enough though that you can use it professionally for client- and external-facing needs. Pros We've used SurveyMonkey both internally and externally for ourselves and for clients. I think that fact alone speaks to how well designed and trustworthy the software is. There's a lot of opportunity to get feedback from employees, clients, and their customers and we've used SurveyMonkey for all of them. It's well-designed and very easy to use, taking only a few minutes to set up a survey and send it out and it gets even easier if you have the survey auto-populated. Given the variety of information you can ask for makes SurveyMonkey a great program. Cons I haven't had any problems, though when we were using the free version I know some people complained about the amount of up-selling that comes with it, but for such a robust program I don't think that's too high of a cost. Pros Survey Monkey makes data collecting for all the firms I have worked for, very accessable, fun, and insightful! We love that administrators have the ability to look up and aggregate the metrics. When we used Survey Monkey for BIG ORANGE PRODUCTIONS, we were able to answer important information about product demos, customer comments about food, taste, allergy concerns, etc. It was a very portable service, one that was easily recognizable and customizable. Speficically, with BIG ORANGE PRODUCTIONS (marketing company from RI,) a large portion of their data collecting relies on Survey Monkey as a backbone. Cons A few times if I hit a blank field (some key that I know not what it was), I was sent back to the beginning, and all the information that I input was lost. Pros You can create excellent surveys even if you are not sure what kind of questions that you would want to have in your survey. You can pick from a wide range of sample surveys which are available for you to use. So, it saves you a lot of time when it comes to creating surveys on SurveyMonkey. You can easily circulate your surveys and polls on social media. You can send your surveys via email to your customers to generate a fare net promoter scores.
