There are things I wish I could improve, like hyphenating words, so I don't have to stop every time to do it. But that should be fixed by the person building the template and is not a failing of the software. Parcel is a very powerful report writing tool, but now Quire has exceeded it in ease-of-use. Pros I love Quire. I have been using it for almost 10 years and have written several hundred reports on it. I was trained on Parcel but migrated over to Quire many years ago. But Qiure is only as good as the templates that are put into it. If the templates are junk and not well thought out, the program will be difficult to use. But that's not Quire's fault. I especially appreciate Quire's constant efforts to improve the product. I don't use a lot of the enhancements, but I know they are there. I also really appreciate Quire's customer service. Like most report writers, I work at odd hours, and every single time I've had an issue with Quire, and there haven't been many, Quire has always responded quickly and gotten me working again. I can't even describe how valuable that is. I also really like how I can leave comments in every section of the report for my Reviewer. Cons Very little. Sometimes the program locks up or certain screens won't drop down, but that may be a problem with my computer and not with Quire. It’s helped us cut through a lot of the repetitive information that used to slow us down. It basically just cleans up the process and saves us a lot of hours every week. Pros Our company switched to Quire for our reporting and inspection workflow several years ago, and it's worked out well. The platform is easy to learn and easy to use. Utilizing Quire has saved our company so much time. Cons It’s already good, but adding a few more specific features would take the user experience to the next level. Overall easy to use in the field on tablet and on the desktop. Pros Ease of use in the field. Not needing a wi-fi connection at all times in the field and are able to upload once you do have wi-fi. Also love how photos are saved in app as well as the camera roll. Cons The latest app. The photo button on the iPad in the center instead of the right side makes taking photos of measurements very difficult. Also the first letter of each word on photo captions are not capitalized. Have to manually do it on every photo. It is capitalized when using speak to text. Occasionaly there is odd spacing in the PDF versions. I like the ability to click on the menu on the left to go to sections. Pros The track changes and comments to the left allow reviewers to comment and communicate with report writers within the program. Cons The component pricing library. I would like to see it be a document for review instead of just key word driven. Key words are not always used by every report writer. So it does not always provide the correct information. If it was just a document we could upload and the writers could view they could pick the information they need. Multiple users can use at the same time. Can customize templates. Cons Site maps are a little wonky. The map drawing tools aren't very intuitive and it can be glitchy. Quire is miles ahead of previous attempts by the organizations that I work for to come up with their own PCA reporting formats. Pros Clear, concise, and very thorough format. Lots of flexibility in writing the report. The photo gallery is especially handy. Cons It seems like it takes a lot of time to change from the main body of the report to the Reports Tag and then back again. Just the only minor irritation that I can think of. November 21, 2024 5.0 If you couldn't tell already, I'm a huge fan. I've utilized Quire for approximately 3 years now and it truly helps with work efficiency. Glad to be working with the platform, and happy to provide some positive feedback when it's much deserved! Pros I tend to find my Word Document projects slower, and this helps save me so much time. Aside from the extremely user friendly interface, the biggest pro I will note is that I appreciate how multiple people can tackle huge projects all at the same time if necessary! In addition, I personally find the aspects of commenting, highlighting, being able to import situational word banks in, checking off completed sections, unchecking sections if you are a reviewer, and more to be extremely helpful. I note this because when you are completing a project that needs to be generated into a pdf you can expect the following: Your comments will be hidden away; your differently colored text (often used to indicate what needs to be changed) is automatically changed to black; and your highlighted portions remain which is great for pdf review so that you can see if you still need to make edits somewhere, or can be used for portions where a manager may prefer to make minor alterations in PDF. Cons I would say that the trait about Quire that I like the least currently is mainly based around human error on our end rather than Quires. However, we utilize EDR Lightbox for all of our Phase I ESA Reports and we use the "external orders" portion. This generates the data directly into the current Quire template, which is immensely helpful most of the time. The only times this doesn't work the best is when someone does a pre-limary type of report where our templates are still Word based; or when someone accidentally uploads the wrong template and we externally order through this. Again, this is all more or less circumstance and/or human error on our end. But, if we could get a way to import the external orders from Lightbox into a full report or new template, then that would be amazing. Review Source LV Lyndzie V. Reports are more consistent looking, and content is more consistent. Pros Quire made report writing a lot easier. There are many features that allow the reports to be written in a consistent fashion. My increased production has also paid off financially. Pros Quire is extremely efficient. I am able to tailor the print, input, and library formatting easily. I am able to write my reports in 1/2 to 2/3 the time it took to use a WORD template. Cons I have no issues with quire. We started with one service line, but when others saw what Quire can do, they were quick to get on the train. We still have some holdouts, but eventually they will probably come around. Pros Standardizes report template and format across a large company footprint. Quire has improved our report writing efficiency. Easy to use- if your users can use MS Word, they can use Quire. Multiple collaborators can work on the same report at the same time, if that's your thing. Great customer service/support. Issues are rare, but quickly addressed if they happen. Cons User permission levels are not customizable WRT what each permission level can/can't do. Pros The SUPPORT STAFF, every single one of them is incredibly competent and helpful for all my Quire questions. Even if they don't have the answer they direct me to someone who can help like my own internal Quire specialists/account reps. Cons The lack of flexibility with adapting the report template output such as TOC labels or formatting specific parts of the report. Cons While offering some flexibility, Quire seems to lack robust customization features though it has not affected my scope of work at all.
