It seems like they don't actually consult meeting planners, or else they would know why certain things are needed (assigning meeting rooms to agenda items, making registration items mandatory - right now you have to make mandatory registration questions to be sure you have accurate numbers and then a separate, duplicate process to have them also add their registered events to their agenda to be sure they have an accurate schedule, they need better event templates, they need to eliminate being able to do the same thing in three different ways/locations of the software - this makes it hard to be consistent through the whole process. Pros The customer-facing options and ability to customize pages. Also the Attendee Hub. Cons Ease of use is very low. Things are not easy to find and update. You really have to search to find where you need to go. Also, the Attendee Hub custom pages have too limited design elements, and the Attendee Hub needs to be a little more customizable in terms of menu options and linking out vs only to custom pages. Clicking into attendees and checking their status and history was easy as well. Cons Support was great and responsive at first, but was sometimes spotty. If we had an issue with something, they would find a workaround but after a while those temporary workarounds came back as an issue. In short, they were finding short term "bandaid" solutions instead of understanding our event needs and figuring out the larger problem. Review Source Alex V. Our group sales team has a little ways to go, and we're thinking about integrating it with SalesForce now that we've made that purchase. Great tool. Pros Getting proposals together is a snap with the RFP tool, because it cuts down on all of the manual work that used to be the RFP generation process. GDS integration points are slick as well, and... although we've only dabbled in the event management tool side of things, there are a lot features in that which make it attractive. We're still learning it, but so far so good! Cons Well, it's a bit of a learning curve, and the HTML email editor is a little clunky, but we brought in someone from the digital side to help our team with that. Other than that, not much. The easy of copying previous events. And the way that you can pull reports for historical data Cons Can be difficult trying to change something and then having to go through the registration process each time to make sure the change worked. Also, no being able to see a final email with the actual information that you are trying to pull from cvent. The program is average at best. I am disappointed that there is not more customization since many of the reports and functionality are very difficult to gear towards your specific business. Additionally, we have had some issues with the program accepting payments from customers along with the way that the reports mislead you into believing that a payment has been processed successfully when it really has not been settled and funds have been entered into bank. When we consulted CVent they provided guidance that caused all of our payments to not settle for five days, which really caused a lot of needless work. They also need to provide an app that is not so pricey. Lastly, you will receive support from them but it is often overseas and the reps are very difficult to understand due to language barriers. Pros The software is fairly easy to use. Cons The software does not provide customization. Event invites look professional and having a database of events is useful for future planning. Cons It can be very hard to set up an initial invite, and pulling reports is very confusing, requiring a lot of training. Thankfully they have good customer service to address questions. The frustrations are more than worth it for the benefits we receive. It has helped move our main annual event to a world-class level conference. Pros A full-featured customizable event website that is integrated with the event registration process, abstract management, and mobile app. I also like that we are able to automatically send our attendees their continuing education credits after the event is ove. Cons Cvent tends to launch products before they are fully functional which is very frustrating. It is also not always intuitive to use. Website design is not "drag and drop" and can be cumbersome to customize. It can also be expensive to add the extra features you need for your event. I was hesitant at first as I have used the classic system for many years. However, as I have become more familiar, I am enjoying the flexibilty and capabilities of the design functionality. Once I got past the learning curve, I have found that it is easier to build sites with more complex designs, more ability to personalize for each event, etc. Cons The learning curve to understand the Flex system was difficult. I also would like to see increased functionality in the reporting features. July 30, 2018 4.0 Pros How much can be done with it. There is very little that I've come across that Cvent can't do; you just have to figure out how to make it work for you. Luckily, the support network is great, and you can likely find the info you need online, or you can get in touch with someone to walk you through it step by step. Cons Because you can do so much, it's incredibly overwhelming at times! I might learn how to do something once, and then not need to do that same thing again for ages, and it's easy to forget. I also get overwhelmed about the various places you can update information, and worry that I might not update it in a location that is tied to tags, and then I'll have incorrect info somewhere along the line. Because it's such a robust tool, that means that finding and correcting that error is very difficult. Review Source AS April S. The interface is "cleaner" on both the front-end and back-end than other similar applications I have tried. Their customer service is very helpful. Cons The abundance of features and options almost makes the application overwhelming. To me, the organization (how things are laid out on the back-end) could be improved upon. She is my go-to person for everything and if she doesnt know the answer, she will find out who does and get back to me. Cons back end is a bit hard to navigate, have to go thru many screens to get to where you need to be at times. Pros Accessing reports was every nice. Cvent produced a lot of information in various reports. We had several different groups coming and the group leaders wanted reports that contained just group members. Cons Covid regulations significantly impacted our conferences. Cvent was unwilling to work with us to adjust our prepaid registration payments due to governmental implemented shutdowns. Review Source JD Julie D. Has the ability to deploy simple, one day webinars or handle the logistics of more complicated, multi-day events. Customer service is outstanding and the ability to customize different user experiences is appreciated. Cons Sometimes this system is "too complicated" for simple events. Can be tedious and there is a lot of room for error because the system is so complicated and robust. Features often change so it's hard to keep up with changes and best practices. The ability to network with other participants is a plus! Cons My experience was all positive. I think the look of the interface can be updated a bit but I understand I just have different personal preferences. So maybe a user customizable look would help out. We also have the ability to send out RFPs for events that can nicely compile all the information you need when your are sourcing events. Their customer support team is amazing, and has useful tips and tricks when you are trying to finagle around events. Cons It is VERY slow sometimes - waiting for things to update makes you feel uneasy and yet you cannot refresh the page.
