I think the people that use it regularly enjoy its functions. Cons However, Cvent is completely opaque for someone who is not fully immersed in its functionality. There are things that I wish to do, that I consider relatively simple, and I have not been able to perform those tasks. Whether that's due to Cvent itself or organizational constraints, I can't say, but it is incredibly frustrating. It is also highly customizable which makes it suitable to any company. Cons Sometimes, the process can be bit overcomplicated but as mentioned above you can customize almost anything here. Their communications options made it easy to communicate with people who had registered and potential customers. It allowed us to set automated messages for registrants as well as our marketing emails and made it easy to convert the data into the file we needed to create name badges, etc. The financial tools were fairly easy to use as far as setting up payment processors and could handle refunds, additional charges, etc. The service provides an option for follow-up surveys of attendees to identify areas of improvement for the next event. It is a very comprehensive solution for managing events. Cons The biggest drawback is that it would not integrate completely into our website. We had to link to an external site. It has made the whole process of collecting information about attendees so easy. You can set up seating chart, and send communication to attendees any number of times you want. Cons there are limitations like: You cant pull one report for multiple inquisium feedback surveys. It allows to pull one report for one survey at a time. Budget: It needs to be more user friendly. Our procurement team who knows nothing about the event business made us switch to a slightly lesser cost option. We paid for it on the back end time and time again. We’re back with CVENT. It was a painful 3 year agreement with another tool. Couldn’t be happier with diving back in and leveraging the Flex version. Also just hired a CVENT specific for an event technology role and will start to integrate and consolidate disparate technologies and fold into the CVENT platform. The events you can set up can be complex and your customers can have a great experience. Cons The software can almost be too complicated when you want to put on a simple event. We use it here at Long & Foster for classes and many classes don't need to be presented as complicated events. Sometimes creating simplistic classes takes just as much time as the more complex company events. Everyone from the sales team to account management to customer service is absolutely amazing. The best people I've had the opportunity to work with. Pros Very user friendly and easy to understand. If I have a problem or questions, the Customer Service team is so easy to contact and offer immediate feedback and solutions. Cons Some of the event settings seem to be is places I wouldn't think to look for them, and I wish I had an "Apply to All" feature that I could check if I wanted my settings to be the same for all my registration paths or registration path pages. Account managers are well-versed in the product, full of best practices, and great to work with. Cons Pricing structure and add-on fees can make it hard for smaller organizations or state-funded schools to justify cost. Makes it easy to follow up with guests. Also like that reminder emails can go out automatically. The customer service team is fantastic and always willing to help. Cons I dislike the fact that you have to input the information individually for each registration type and that invite lists don’t copy over from one event to the next. The system itself is not very user friendly. This cuts down on paper print outs and can be used for attendees and exhibitors. It allows attendees to communicate between each other and to learn more about a speaker from any of the sessions. Pros Seamless integration with Cvent, application is very user friendly for attendees and for myself on the back end. The application looks professional and easily customizable. Everything is more efficient and you can run regular reports to gather any required data. Pros The best part of this program is how configurable it is. There's a version and a set of features that will fit your event. Cons Their new version of the program, Flex, is still working on some of the features that were standard in Classic.
