The customer service group has been able to help with any issues over the past 2 years and always willing to do so. The follow up on issue that are not resolved immediately is great. It is not a call and forget system. Pros Easy to use and train new employees. Easy to add new tests and integrate into EMR. Cons There are some reports that I would like to customize for our lab and that was not an option. Using Schuylab opened up a world of possibility. While other programs did shine in stability (it never crashed) it was a nightmare to produce the most basic statistical report. Pros Ease of use. Having experience with LIS based on Concurrent DOS and Linux, working and maintaining Schuylab is such a breeze. Not difficult to use and yet very elegant, specially when you interface your Schuylab with other systems and or analyzers. Cons Because it ease of use most users underestimate the underlying complexity. In most cases we overcomplicate a problem while the solution is not that difficult. Pros The extent of the variables that were put in to the design is impressive. Knowing that many laboratory practices vary widely, Schuyler does force you to follow only one style of operation. I never had an interface fail and I was never down due to software failure. Pros The ease of use and the cost effectiveness.
