Key user insights about ApplicantStack

Based on of verified reviews collected between October, 2009 and August, 2024

Applicant management

Based on 505 reviews
Users appreciate ApplicantStack's features that streamline the interview process, such as allowing applicants to schedule their own interviews and enabling multiple levels of management to interact with candidates. They find it beneficial to have all applicant information in one place, which simplifies communication and tracking. However, some users encounter issues with note-taking during interviews, difficulty in filtering out unqualified applicants, and limitations in application editing and search functionality.

Email notifications

Based on 299 reviews

Reviewers find ApplicantStack's email templates and automated emails useful for maintaining consistent communication with candidates, saving time on repetitive tasks. They value the integration with personal email accounts and the ability to receive real-time notifications about application statuses. On the downside, users report that many automated emails end up in spam folders, leading to missed communications, and they experience email overload due to excessive notifications for every action taken by applicants.

Pros

  • ApplicantStack has been very effective in finding good quality people. It is easy to use and we get many new employees off of here.

  • Overall, it is effective applicant software with amazing customer service. Its great for the price and does what we need it to.

  • Easy for all ability levels to on-board to. The customization ability to our needs helps and we are able to change it immediately if need be.

  • They are very responsive, fair, eager to help and always solution oriented. The system has done so much for making our hiring process and reporting data more efficient and valuable across our network.

Cons

  • I found it a little frustrating when I posted a job in the site and Indeed.com would not post as they required more detail.

  • We switched to ADP and it was horrible. We decided to switch back to Applicant Stack.

  • I also own two businesses. It is odd to me that in one business the cost is $30 more a month than the other one for some reason.

  • I wish I had some applicant stack gear, sometimes we may have some small technical errors when the system shuts down but who doesn't, if it does its back up in no time.

"Very user friendly! I've worked in several different ATS and this has been the easiest one yet!"

Pros: It's very easy to use and is step-by-step throughout the entire process. Their customer service is very helpful and accommodates most all requests we have asked for. I love the email templates with mail merge features, the flags we are able to customize, and that you can trigger automatic emails throughout the stages.

Cons: I wish it was easier to add pictures, embed videos, links, etc. It's also not user friendly on the reporting side. I'd like to be able to have more functionality to pull different reports. For example, I would like to have a report for jobs that we are still currently recruiting for (still actively trying to find a candidate). I don't necessarily want to see all "open" jobs because in ApplicantStack, they remain open until the job is "closed/filled". I do not want to see jobs that have a candidate that has already accepted an offer and is in the background or pending start stage. Unfortunately for now, it's a manual process of my recruiters reviewing over their "active recruiting" jobs and sending me weekly update reports by email. We are also still working out the ability to integrate with ADP (our HRIS system).

Hi Meagan! Thank you for taking the time to write a review about ApplicantStack. I will forward your feedback to our development team. We take feedback very seriously. Also, I would suggest contacting support on how you can add pictures, embed videos, and add links using our formatting tools. Changing your filters to show inactive jobs might also help with your concern about seeing open vs. closed jobs.

"Great tool to recruit candidates"

Overall: What I like the most from using ApplicantStack is that we can post all our jobs in one place and share it with multiple job boards.

Pros: The application for candidates to apply is very user friendly

Cons: Having to pay separate fees to utilize certain job boards

Switched From: Indeed and ZipRecruiter
Reasons for Switching to ApplicantStack: They didn't have the job application and personal job board feature

"Performance is adequate "

Overall: Overall we like the system. Hoping for a few upgrades or automation upgrades

Pros: All applications in one location and all job postings as well. We don’t use the postings as much as review of applicants

Cons: Convoluted web portal People can put in multiple apps. No easy way to quickly eliminate dups. Feel like there should be better / separation between applications and job postings

"We LOVE Applicant Stack"

Overall: Helpful and knowledgeable sales and onboarding team who promoted a great and very affordable option.

Pros: Customization and control over the workflow. I also really appreciate the e-sign features and integration with other softwares and systems.

Cons: I would have appreciated another set up/onboarding meeting when getting started, but the system isn't too complicated, and we self-served ultimately.

Alternatives Considered: JazzHR and Workday HCM
Reasons for Choosing ApplicantStack: Cost and benefits, e-sign, knowledgeable sales, quick onboarding
