The features meat all our needs. The new Texting capability has been very helpful. Cons We have alot of the emails go into candidates spam or told they did not receive it. It would be nice to have a delivery and a read receipt capability. Reason for choosing ApplicantStack I find Applicant Stack to be very user friendly. I have implemented it at 4 companies that I have worked since 2008. They have made several advancements to the program and continue to meet our needs. One problem that I have recently encountered is that we suddenly saw a drastic drop off in job applications being received by about 75%. I sent an email about it to see if there was anything I was missing. I never got a response, but the next day we had seven applications come in. It was just strange. But I do think that the service is a good one. Pros I enjoy how easy it is to use Applicant Stack. Reports are easily accessed and navigated to and being able to add job candidates that fill out paper/pencil applications is very helpful as well. Cons I feel like the customer support staff can sometimes just give you a by the book answer instead of giving you a way to resolve your problem. Although it could improve, the software works okay for what we need. I do believe it is making improvements (and am hoping our office utilizes the new texting feature!) Pros I like the custom auto emails and all the options that come with those. It's also simple to track the steps of the pipeline and discussions between All parties. Cons You can't search by a phone number. You can't search by partial name. It's Very difficult to track using the reports. I think there are some pieces that work okay, but these need to be simplified, especially to minimize user-error. For example, source reports; there are three different places to put three different sources! Also, if you enter an inquiry with an application request and/or link, it's counted as a Completed Application. Lots of things are inaccurate, which is never good when trying to get information about which sources are worth the money and which sources are not. July 11, 2023 3.0 Applicant Stack was put in place during Covid when we were forced to hire remotely. It was a quick fix, however, is not really conducive to what we need long term. Reporting is poor and very difficult to get something done. Applicants often forget their login information, etc. Pros Somewhat easy to post an opening and / or clone a job posting. Cons Hard to get reports built to the way we need them. Reason for choosing ApplicantStack Applicant Stack was put in place during Covid when we were forced to hire remotely. It was a quick fix. It's quite cost-effective for what you get out of it. Other job boards and companies can be known to price gouge when it comes to postings, so a flat monthly rate is a nice change. The adoption of this sofware earlier this year (2018) brought us into the 21st Century (the world of everything online). Pros I like how well the software functions. I have not experienced any issues or glitches. Customer service is quick to respond and assist with anything you need. They don't look to screw you over - we requested a custom application and they opted to not charge us for creating it. The overall modern look of the site is a plus as well. The partnerships with online jobboards (mainly Indeed) is a major factor in applicant turnout, as that is where we receive the majority of ours from. Nearly every question you have can be answered with prewritten questions and responses for just about every aspect and function. Customization is a huge player in this software - you can order and lay out exactly how you want your data and information to be presented to you so you don't have anything that is unnecessary. Cons The formatting of certain aspects is sometimes a pain. When you are writing a job post, the window you type the text is set fairly short as far as how much vertical space it takes up on the page. If you are looking for an ATS that is easy to implement I would highly recommend this cost-efficient option. What's great is it doesn't feel like a budget platform! Pros This ATS is fully customizable. Anything you can see you can essentially edit. I love that I don't need to go to a rep for every small request. Cons The lack of dashboard functionality. I've already tried to set up some API with third-party accounts and they have limited integration. I will add that does add requests to their technology roadmap. I was thrilled to have discovered this cloud based software. I managed the recruitment for 20 office locations for a home health care organization. This software was very friendly to use and posted to all the major job aggregators. I never had any interfacing issues and they were constantly improving their system. Their tech support was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. I enjoyed being able to rate the applicants, communicate with them and more right from one screen. I was also able to access applications from my smartphone which was extremely useful. Cons I really do not have any cons. I am so glad I found them. Marketing & Design Used the software for: ### "ApplicantStack - Great 'Off the Shelf' Job Board Solution" June 2, 2010 4.0 Overall recommendation is 9.5 out of 10. The product does the job. It has good core features. Customer service is superb. If you need a job board and can't have custom programming done, or don't want to buy a big, bloated or overly complex system that you'll have to install and maintain then I think this is a great choice. We've had it online for about two weeks now. We have had a few hundred applicants for 4 job postings. We were able to quickly process the apps and hhave hired three people so far without having huge piles of paper. Pros Product set up was taken care of by and was painless. They created my template quickly and were amenable to make some changes I requested. Customer service is excellent. Not only did they take care of problems quickly they actually modified a couple features based on feedback. The default workflow is set up in a logical fashion which really helped as we weren't sure what the best process would be. The automation features are useful and a real time saver. The reports and ability to add custom fields to the back and front end allow customization. The ability to build reusable questionnaires, email and job listing templates is great. The recently added layout templates add so good additional functionality for more advanced formatting of the front end. The application also generates job specific links and email addresses so that you can post them in other forums. There is more but I didn't intend to make this a feature list. Good, easy to use solution. Cons I would like to see the question page layout feature continue to evolve to include some type of editor - not really a 'con' as this is brand new functionality. I think the questionnaire needs some 'label' and 'image' components so you can add additional instructions to your app. A multipage form option would also be useful. We have a multipage job application which would mean lots of scrolling down. We opted to use a smaller initial form and just send the full application to those who pass a certain point in the hiring process but it would be nice to have all our legal mumbo jumbo in there. There are a few areas where I'd like more control - perhaps adding header and footer areas where you can customize the content. These are more 'features that I'd like added' than cons. Pros I like the ability to have our potential hires go through a trackable pipeline. It’s easy to see where everyone is in the process. The ease of posting job openings is really great too. Cons I’m hoping that will provide some free connectivity to our main CRM, Hubspot. We do lots of email campaigns and on-boarding email series to stay on top of our new hires before they take training. It would be nice to have some information passed back and forth between Hubspot and Appstack making the platform even more valuable. May 17, 2018 3.0 It's just what I was given when I took this job. The whole thing seems pretty outdated and not user friendly in any way. Pros It's easy to log in and remember the site name. It integrates with AxisCare. Cons 1) It's not possible to create and publish your own application, you have to allow designers to spend days doing the work for you and then get charged extra on top of the premiums you pay for service. 2) You can't allow applicants to use LinkedIn/Indeed/Facebook to auto fill an application, this is a pretty basic option that almost every other applicant tracking system has implemented. 3) Customer service is slow and often times just says "we'll get back to you" Review Source Response from Swipeclock May 21, 2018 Hi Jesse! Pros I love the ease of use and the fact that I can set something up and easily clone it rather than recreate the wheel each time - I love having templates. I also love the ease of emailing the candidate to keep them posted on their progress and the ability to automate that through the stages of the application process. Cons I wish I did not have to completely repost a position in order to refresh it on the job boards. To refresh it to get closer to the top I have to completely bring the posting down and then re-post it and move any active applicants to the new posting. Reason for choosing ApplicantStack I used at my last company and because it was so easy to use, had the cloning feature and easily posted to online job boards I implemented it at my current company. Setting the system up was easy and straightforward, and the ApplicantStack team are always responsive to our questions as we continue to evolve our recruiting and hiring processes. Pros workflow is very easy to set up. The ability to format questionnaires for applicants to complete provides a very professional look. The customer service is excellent and very responsive, especially when we have a technical question regarding extra functionality. Cons No real cons, to be honest. It also allows me to go to one site to pull applicants - rather than 3 - 4 (plus, it has reduced the duplicate applications!). It also allows me (the main recruiter) to better coordinate candidates with the hiring managers, as we have a central database. Pros Easy to set up. No contracts - easy to upgrade or cancel. Utilizes multiple job boards. Integrates to other systems - including Indeed Sponsored ads. Great support. Same features and abilities as more expensive ATS systems. Cons Can't embed graphics into job postings - including logos. Uses major job boards, but still need to manually post to "niche" boards (although they do give you a link to use). Pros AppStack (as its affectionately called in our organization) goes a step further than most ATS tools in the market these days - they include resume parsing for scoring keywords! Cons It is difficult to tell that a job posted successfully to a job board. Sometimes a job is launched successfully, but never makes it's way to the intended job boards, for various reasons, but it would be great if that issue were more transparent in AppStack. December 10, 2019 5.0 Pros I was looking for an ATS that would fully integrate with many of the major job boards and nailed it! I can full manage all my campaigns with Indeed, Glassdoor, and LinkedIn Jobs all in one site, sponsor jobs from my site as needed, and even bring on my partnering hiring managers from my client companies to collaborate on the hiring process. Sending emails right from my system was a top requirement of mine when shopping for an ATS and again...ApplicantStack nailed it with the ability to write my own custom message as well as creating a library of templates to use for standard communications. Great product! Cons The only "gripe" I would say is that the graphic user interface (GUI) of the system is not as robust as many other systems. It took a good deal of time to get used to navigating the system but all that was still quite minor. Switched from [Freshteam](https://www.capterra.com/p/166825/Freshteam/) The ratings of were much hiring and so far, my experience with the customer service professionals has been above and beyond what I received when working with Freshteam/Freshworks. I think that everything has its faults but really does make it easier to get information about a large group of applicants rather than me going through Monster or SimplyHired and doing it myself. Pros What I enjoy most about is how much information you can receive on just one applicant and that I am able to email them, put them through to the next stage and can be linked to other software so moving forward in the hiring process is easier. I am also a big fan of our Account Manager. Is always helpful, returns calls quickly and willing to take the time to explain things that are confusing. Cons At times I find it hard to use as I wish it had more features. I have mentioned to our Account Manager that it would be nice to categorize differently or have separate tabs that classify who is in what stage so you don't have to look through a bunch of information. It would also be nice to filter out the duplicates, the ones that were already denied moving forward and such. May 24, 2018 4.0 Pros offers all the functions that we need for a small business, at a budget that is affordable. It allows us to communicate with candidates via multiple sources and maintain a single record of dialogue. Recruiters are able to easily assign candidates to hiring managers while tracking progress throughout the recruiting lifecycle. The job posting function allows us to widely distribute openings efficiently. Cons 1) Some of the steps needed to make updates to our configuration can be cumbersome, but this is not a major issue, as these adjustments are infrequent (less than once a month). 2) The resume parsing feature does not always accurately capture information that other (more expensive) systems tend to get correct. I don't have experience with other like software, but I have been please with the results thus far. Pros I like that it gives me an organized view of not only my candidates, but what stage I have them in the process. Cons When doing reviews of multiple candidates, I have to usually go back to the home button the restart from the stage I was viewing instead of just going back to the list of that stage of candidates. I wish there was an automatic pop up menu for when I click on a name of a candidate instead of the browser page advancing. This would save time and energy. They've also done a great job updating their software in appearance and features/ functionality over the years to stay relevant and modernized. It's very easy to navigate, easy to learn, and easy to customize. It's great for anyone who just needs basic features and ease of use. Pros It is very simple, easy and straight forward. Very easy navigation. It also has all the basic necessary functions/ features most small-mid size companies would require. Cons Multiple entries for the same candidate/ applicant, causes redundancies and potential to miss prior history/ notes. I'd prefer one universal entry for all applications per candidate. April 19, 2018 5.0 Pros Eliminates paper applications, easy to send one email to multiple candidates, easy to use. One of the best decisions we made to improve our Recruiting & Hiring process. Cons 1) Expensive for multiple users, we have limited our users due to the high cost; 2) Wish there were a better way to capture notes within candidate records that aren't 'buried' in tabs and mouse clicks. Putting notes into the application fields ends up pushing the row size too large. Is there a way to create a sort of "sidebar" for each candidate where the user could put in a lot more text for notes? Also, have a similar "sidebar" on the main screen. 3) Reminders - would like reminders to be sent through the system to the Hiring Managers about their interviews, etc. 4. You can easily view candidate notes in the History tab. The filters at the top allow you to see only the notes if you prefer. We do have task reminders. These are emailed to the user and they can easily see their tasks on their own home screen.
