I’ve been using Documentero for a while now, and it has quickly become one of those tools I can’t imagine working without. I use it in 3-4 workflows in my company and in apps i create for my clients and some of them generate 200-300 documents a month without any problem. I've used it within N8N workflows, Retool app and Laravel app. Sometimes i even use built-in forms to create very fast PoC showing client how it can help with document creation. What impressed me most is how seamlessly it integrates into existing workflows. Instead of wasting time on repetitive tasks, I can now generate perfectly formatted documents automatically, directly from built-in forms or through the API. As a developer, I especially appreciate how clean and straightforward the API is. The setup took minutes, not hours, and the flexibility it gives me in building custom automations is incredibly powerful. At the same time, it’s not only developer‑friendly – my clients and non‑technical partners can also work with Documentero templates without needing any special skills. That balance between power and accessibility is rare. The template system is another big win. Updating or creating new templates is simple, and the generated files look professional every single time. No formatting headaches, no manual copy‑paste work – just reliable automation that actually saves hours each week. Documentero genuinely changed the way I handle document generation. It’s reliable, flexible, and developer‑minded, while still being approachable for non‑tech users. If your business deals with recurring documents of any kind, I can’t recommend it enough. And last but not least - the support is fantastic, responsive and kind. Several times the author of the app helped me to understand or find something in docs

Pros

\- document generation from complex templates - it can create tables with complex structures (e.g. i can create a 3-levels-deep structure that will create 3 sets of 4 tables with 10 rows using json call from api) - i can offer my clients an solution for creating complex protocols, invoices, summaries, offers, any kind of document really, - i can send the template to client and ask them to prepare the looks, margins, logos etc. and i can focus on code/api calls etc. - it can also insert pictures int the document and its a game changer for me (one system i've built for a client has generated more than 1k documents with 10k pictures - photos of damages - inside)

Cons

\- It's not able to generate excel documents, - the web template editor is very basic and i don't use it (i always use word to get the pixel-perfect templates) - sometimes it is hard to handle the tables (e.g. you can't skip rows when they contain no data) - documentation is not very well structured (it has a lot of info but i always struggle to find something :))
