" April 16, 2023 5.0 It has been a huge time saver for me, and is now the default reference & thinking tool I use when doing complex research. Pros Great Interface, simple and easy to use. Using it on a digital pen enabled device, like a tablet layout input make it worthwhile. As one of those people who still loves scribbling and noting things down, having an easy tool is a big deal for me. Cons While it can integrate with two of the most common reference managers, the ability to import would be nice. There are standardised formats out there, so its not dependent of these two. I very useful tool is also to have the chance to select text even in pdf files that are "protected" Cons I have not found any back draw in liquid text software. Maybe sometimes it is difficult to synchronize my space but could be an internal problem. Pros I personally like the thing that it contains all necessary features at such a nice price point. You can edit any pdf, open any doc file, do multitasking and make the notes at the same time. Would say that definitely go for this. Talking about professionals and students, this is the best that they can get. Cons Need to add the feature for changing the thumbnail of the documents. Pros I love the fact that I can store multiple documents in one file and search within the whole set in one go - it really helps in synthesis of large amounts of text. Pros It packs all the features required for PDF management. We can edit, collaborate, make notes, mind maps and commenting are regular used features and serves their purpose well. Helps a lot by supporting almost all document types and all of the documents can be stored at one place. Totally satiesfied with this purchase. And I don't think LiquidText is for business. Like Zotero, it's a tool for academics who want to read pdfs, take notes, and organize annotated pdfs. And also comment on student papers. For academics, whose main business is doing this, it's the best tool available. IMHO instead of trying to capture the admittedly lucrative business market with this stuff about 'integration' and 'teams' you should just focus on the academic market. There are other pdf readers and handwriting apps around but nothing nearly so good as LiquidText for our purposes. I would focus and market aggressively to academics because that is LiquidText's strong suit. Pros I can underline and highlight pdfs and take notes on the side! File management is also pretty good--I can organize all those pdfs. I'm an academic--that's all I really want: to be able to read journal articles, highlight, and annotate, as I used to with xeroxes. And to have them all on my iPad so that I don't have to deal with huge stacks of paper. I don't 'integrate with business processes' because I don't have business processes, whatever they may be. I just need to pick up pdfs, read, highlight, and take notes and for this LiquidText is uniquely good--a treasure for academics! Never xerox again! Cons I wish that for taking notes that in addition to the desktop or whatever where I take notes that scrolls there were a \*stationary\* desktop where I could put stuff to refer to wherever I was in the scrolling desktop that would stay put. E.g. I'm doing Greek, have a pdf of the textbook and do exercises on the scrolling desktop. I'd like to have a place that didn't scroll where I could link vocabulary and grammar appendices from the textbook so that I didn't have to keep scrolling back or moving the links to refer to these things. Also, when I've created pdfs from liquidtext files the notes I've taken come up separately from the body of text to which I link them. If there were some way s.t. the pdfs could display the text linked to comments on the side that would be terrific! I'm also not interested in integration with other applications. I have my organizational scheme set up, it works fine, and I don't think that any integration via LiquidText would be cost-effective for me. Also, sometimes handwritten annotations don't show up well on pdfs. I use liquid text to comment on student papers and sometimes the comments aren't legible. This really needs to be fixed. Also I wish you'd go back to having notes with colored backgrounds rather than just colored bars on the side. Review Source KS Khyati S. Pros It’s extraordinary ability to edit the pdf file is really nice and handy. Combination of all document related features is good. Haven’t used this feature a lot but the pointing kinda thing that we can link a topic of a pdf to a comment is really nice though. Collaborative feature are good also and I found this app the most advance one in whole Apple ecosystem to be honest. So, you can definitely go for this. Cons 1\. it is not available for android which is really a headache.2. It’s note taking experience is not as good as Goodnotes and team should focus on improving this.3. August 16, 2022 4.0 Pros Great app to process documents, extract ideas and construct content maps. LiquidText is superb when it comes to combining original content with notes and organizing information in user-generated maps. I haven't seen anything similar. Kudos to the design team. Cons Unfortunately, LiquidText jumped on the monthly subscription bandwagon and extended features are only available if you "subscribe". As I write, HBO Max, Disney, Netflix and other subscription based content providers are seeing users dropping their subscriptions in record rates. Users simply can't keep up with incremental players with pay-per-view business models. They will eventually pick and chose the vital few. I see this coming to software as well. The tide of SaaS apps will become unmanageable and we will migrate to the vital few. From the company's perspective recurring income is seductive, until you realize that it has it's limits. If LiquidText has any intent of growing into a serious long-term player in the software field, I would highly recommend they reassess their business model. I would gladly pay more for additional features if I'm offered an option that doesn't tie me to a subscription for life. The App AGENDA has an interesting business model where you make a purchase and any upgrades developed during the next year are available for download. And if you don't decide to buy the upgrade subscription for the following year, you have a fully functional app without the shackles of a pay-per-month model. Review Source SW Scott W. Multi document searching function is one of the important features which makes it easier to track what you looking for and find specific content with ease. Ability to consolidate meeting notes and allow one to track open items and prepare for the next meeting. Cons The disappearing ink text when writing with Apple pencil; need to undo writing for the information to reappear. Inability to change ink color once written through the use of lasso selection. But after getting used to the environment and terminology, and very helpful improvements in the latest release, it’s been a huge help. I’ve used it both on some research projects and info related to recent health issues. I mostly gather PDF files and this is the best tool I’ve found to extract the information I need. Pros Many functions and options. Brilliant concept and implementation. LiquidText lets me review/analyze material and highlight/annotate for future reference. Cons Biggest issue is documented support, almost exclusively video. I’m surprised a product designed to work with text has minimal text support. When I am working on a paper, I can store the same documents in a project and organize the excerpts in the same workspace. It feels like I can cut pieces out and rearrange them on the floor, but it is all electronic. This allows me the flexibility to organize information in a way that makes sense to me, without the hassle of physical copies. Cons It would be nice to be able to rotate PDFs.
