January 9, 2026 5.0 I have built many sites with WIX and have never had an issue I couldn't figure out or get help quickly from their customer service! Pros I have been doing websites since 1996! I love WIX. So many easy-to-use options! No crazy plugin updates like WordPress. Plus, the customer service is fantastic! It is by far one of the absolute best website builders on the market! Cons My complaint is that I haven't been using it since 1996. :) I wish I had been using WIX to build all the websites I built for clients! I've not navigated to WIX Studio. That will take more time than I have thought that product is great looking. Pros Whether via the phone or test the customer service I received form them is stellar. It's a learning process and they are present to help you. No heaving handed AI blocks. You can get human help when you need it. AI works will on minor issues. Cons Challenging and complex system but thank goodness the customer service is great and I learn a bit more each time. The main stuff I do is updating pages, publishing content, tweaking layouts here and there. It's noticeably faster than whatever I was cobbling together before, and I haven't had to touch code for most of it, which was kind of the point. Pros Day-to-day management feels fairly consolidated. Content updates, layout adjustments, basic SEO settings, once you've figured out where things live, it doesn't feel like a chore. The mobile/desktop consistency has held up better than I thought it would going in. Cons Coming from the regular Wix editor, the Studio interface took some getting used to. Tools had moved around, and I kept second-guessing myself trying to find settings that used to be in obvious places. It wasn't a disaster, but the first week was slower than I'd have liked. The help documentation is decent for general questions but not always useful when you hit something specific, I ended up just poking around until I found the answer a couple of times. Costing me triple bevause ha ing to rebuild all again and being offline for a few months! Pros Easy is not their game, pros? Good marketing, so they have many initial users.... Cons Having to re-build my whole website, after getting so many compatanility issues with booking.com and airbnb (multiple dounle booming due to failing software connections or synchronisation!!!). And then jabing to deal with their failing customer support up to third level and later management. Reason for choosing Wix Studio It seemed better than it was, but they had such good marketing....we fell into their trap! Set it up myself over a long weekend, no agency, no developer, just me and a lot of tab switching. The fact that I can update things on my own without panicking is genuinely a relief. Customer service has been better than I expected too, actual helpful responses not just FAQ links. Four stars because one thing tripped me up early on but overall this has made my life easier not harder. Pros Templates are clean enough that you don't feel like you're starting from scratch but flexible enough that the end result doesn't look totally cookie cutter. The CMS features especially surprised me, I was able to pull in some data and have it populate pages automatically which saved me a ton of time. Navigation is pretty intuitive once you spend a couple hours poking around. Cons Page limits kind of snuck up on me. I didn't realize there was a cap on dynamic pages until I was already mid build and had to backtrack and rethink my whole structure. I think it's fun to play around with more time to create a vision rathing than coding Pros It is an all in one package and yes it has teplates to work from and you still have to put in the work to make the site work for you. The Wix suppor have been nothing short of being helpful, kind and supportive. Not like what you get today a half an answer or won't help you learn. Wix guides supports and directs if you ever found yourself in a predicament. Wix will work if you put in the work! Their support is straightforward, quick, and kind, and the platform is very reliable. My only real issue has been with the persistent Wixsite domain that doesn't seem to be disableable. Pros Wix is a wonderful platform for its ease of use and straightforward website builder! Unlike many other drag & drop website builders, Wix allows you to fully customize every detail of your site, from color to position on the page. I've tried many other platforms, including Squarespace, WordPress (using Elementor), and a few others, and I always come back to Wix for its great freedom to design the way I want. Cons Wix, like any platform, does have some downsides. Their plans, while often discounted, are quite expensive overall. Also, the apps available in their App Market are often similarly expensive. Additionally, I'm not a fan of the fact that my free Wixsite domain, even after linking a custom domain, still exists and often competes with my custom domain's SEO on Google. I wish I could disable the Wixsite domain after linking a custom domain. I really like that I can open a new city/town/location within an hour. Cons Too difficult to reach a chat agent. If it's tech issue, for example, all I can get is Knowledge links. Not helpful. Email marketing limits need to be removed...this would definitely bring in more business for business owners. Bookings, increase from repeat bookings of 8 to 10 or unlimited/non stop weekly appts. Nothing too complex. Before this I was bouncing between WordPress and a couple other builders, and honestly I just wanted something easier to hand off once a project was done. Pros Responsive editor lets me adjust layouts per screen size without digging into custom code every time something looks off. Having the CMS, SEO settings, analytics, and email tools all under one roof is convenient too, less tab-switching while I'm mid-project. For the kind of sites I typically build, it covers most of what I need without a lot of workarounds. Cons Support has been the main pain point. Hit a publishing issue on a client site and spent way longer than I should have trying to get past the chatbot to talk to a real person. The problem did get sorted out eventually, but when you're up against a launch deadline that wait is genuinely stressful. With WordPress, clients would occasionally break something in the backend trying to make simple edits, and I'd end up spending time fixing things that weren't part of the original project. Pros It's so easy to use, I always recommend it to small business clients. They get the hang of it no problem, very quickly! Cons When it has errors, though not often, it takes a while to get an agent on it. For example, I was struggling to get access to my published posts this week, after 5 years using the site. The tech team is looking into it but I had to talk to the chatbot for a while before getting a person. Great customer service, excellent product. It evolves with us as an agency. Every time I think that we may need to seek another platform, they publish an update that addresses any issues I had. Pros Huge stable of features, and adding more daily. As a marketing company, it's a one-stop-shop. Everything from SEO, email marketing, social ads, analytics - you name it, you can work with it on WIX. Cons Small features not available, like redirecting domains to a specific page vs general root domain. Any struggles with my website were mainly me trying to wrangle with data, but this was not due to anything in Wix's control.
