### "breath of fresh air"

Before WorkStory, completing annual performance reviews was drudgery. WorkStory is a "breath of fresh air" from the traditional performance review process. Their onboarding process was also excellent, coming directly from one of the founders.

Pros

Their common sense approach has made the performance review process magnitudes easier and less stressful. Their chat/email integrations streamline the process. Connecting WorkStory with Microsoft Teams was a breeze!

Cons

With their chat integration (MS Teams), you answer a question and then it's sent and gone, into the void of their cloud. It should be easier to review what was sent or to make corrections after the initial question was sent. So, I'm supposed to log in through the web to do this? There is an option to "Sign in with Google" but no SSO/OAuth option for my work email?

Pros

The platform is very user-friendly, with a clean layout that makes navigation simple even for first-time users. I appreciate how it streamlines the review process without feeling overwhelming or time-consuming. The prompts are clear and helpful, which makes it easier to provide thoughtful and meaningful feedback.

Cons

One downside I’ve experienced is the high volume of review requests, which can feel overwhelming to manage and may lead to notification fatigue, making it harder to give each request proper attention. Also had some issues with Slack integration.

The ability to pick and choose the specific level of anonymity for each review or response is incredibly valuable, as it allows users to provide honest feedback when necessary while maintaining transparency or identity when appropriate. Cons

The high volume of questions coming through daily was a challenge. The sheer quantity sometimes felt overwhelming, making it difficult to maintain focus and diligence. Related to this volume, I found it often challenging to provide unique, thoughtful comments that were distinct from previous answers, leading to repetition and potential review fatigue.

Good tool. The Teams plugin is a good idea; it saves time. It would be nice to have an option to remove closed surveys from Teams conversation as an option.

Pros

Nice tool saving time by regularly sending surveys about employee performance, allowing giving feedback to employees quite easily, with privacy options to make it anonymous or visible.

Cons

It does not allow for giving feedback via Teams proactively. It would be nice to let's say write @Name Surname and just start writing feedback that would be processed later by AI (categorization, etc.)

### "Workstory review"

I really like the tool, it looks like performance review process will be easier this year comparing to previous ones, when I spent more than a day to write reviews about other employees and myself.

Pros

I like that my feedback about employees is gathered in small parts. Every time, I answer to specific question, so I assume it will be more helpful for managers at the end. The tool is very easy to use, its configuration is simple (I set up integration with MS Teams).

Cons

The only thing I found currently is that the notifications of new goals specified in the systems are not send with an email or Teams message. But that's rather a minor issue.

### "Wonderful Easy Approach to Employee Performance Feedback"

So far, I've just participated in the free two week trial of the WorkStory software. However, that in and of itself is a huge feature. No other software that I found had a trial available and we don't have the time or budget to invest in something that ends up not being useful for our organization.

Pros

I love the "hands off" approach to performance evaluations. I also like that the software is designed to provide continual feedback, not just once a year.

Cons

I don't have any "cons" about WorkStory. I am looking forward to learning how to utilize all of its functions and reporting capabilities.

I enjoyed it! I thought it was a great way to keep track of performance throughout the year. As mentioned above, I would recommend including project specific questions so there's a record of more concrete things that went on.

Pros

Integration with Slack made it incredibly easy to respond. I also enjoyed being able to track my own stats.

Cons

Some of the questions felt like repeats of the same point, and were a little bit vague. I think there is an opportunity to include more specific questions.

### "Feedback on Workstory User Interface and Points of Improvements"

Overall, the goal of the Workstory tool is good and the idea to make year-end reviews more measureable is definitely something HR representatives stuggle with. But the execution and platform should be more accessible and easily understood by the user - the employees - so that they look forward to seeing the feedback received rather than spending half the time looking for where the reviews are.

Pros

The ability to rate your colleagues easily with the star rating system

Cons

The user interface - the dashboard could be improved for seamless browsing. For example, what's the difference between home and dashboard? People can be reworded as Team Members, there's shouldn't be this may tabs for my personal profile, organisation/hierarchy can fall under people/team members rather than it being a whole other dropdown. The filters under the dahsboard has a loophole where if i select filter by managers, I can see what my manager has reviewed about me, even though they say it's anonymous (defeating the anonymous feature); likewise with other filters. The different tabs under the dashboard can be moved as a drop down on the side panel, also the user profile tab is the same as the personal information tab. What does each emoji mean on the score (analytics)? How is the analytics measured?

So far, I like it. I can see how this will help track issues that can be used for training.

Pros

I like that it gives a continuing story for assessment that can be tracked during the year instead of being forgotten until review time comes again. In order to grow you need to be able to track what is going on. This looks like the solution.

Cons

There is nothing that I have seen so far that I do not like.. I am having a little trouble understanding the numeric rating though..

### "Great way to remove the hassle out of 360 reviews"

I was looking for a 360 review software that 1) doesn't take more than a few seconds, 2) can be done completely within Microsoft Teams, 3) aggregates the data for our users to use/see immediately. Workstory hits on all the points above. Most of the challenging part of using the software is on the backend but they have a team ready to assist with this whenever needed.

Pros

Completing a 360 degree review can be a tedious process, especially if you have a large number of colleagues you work with. Workstory effectively removes the hassle out of the review process by drip feeding the questions one at a time. Being able to complete the questions fully within Microsoft Teams also helps reduce downtime for reviewers as they don't need to navigate into a separate platform to provide their feedback.

Cons

The backend or administrator view isn't great. It's not too intuitive in terms of where I'm supposed to go to view certain information. Adding/removing/modifying questions for multiple users can also be a bit of a hassle if I want to do it myself. Thank fully they've got an incredibly responsive team that helps with this process.

### "My favorite tool in our tech stack "

The team is fantastic! They respond within 12 hours (most the time sooner) are willing to walk anyone through any part of the process and the value of the tool is tremendous when compared to avoiding the damage you face with letting a bad culture develop and avoiding HR nightmares.

Pros

The ability to track employee performance over time allows me to have a record of key players and more importantly call out those who are not the right fit. Usually it is a struggle to gather enough documentation which further degrades the culture. This allows us to reward the over performers and get the bad eggs out asap.

Cons

Logging in and getting it connected to slack is a few too many steps. We have lots of people who speak Spanish and those who aren’t the best with technology in the restaurant industry. If there were only 1-2 that would be ideal but I understands making things extra simple is even harder. A Spanish translation would be amazing too!

Reason for choosing WorkStory

They were willing to customize the product to the needs of the hospitality industry. It also played well with slack which our company already uses.

I think WorkStory is great. Is is very easy to use and there is a lot of application. I think the hardest part is figuring out how do you apply the information that you received. There is a ton of data, and feedback. It can be hard to keep track and really figure out what you can do with all of these insights and ensuring that your managers and others are taking advantage of it. As such if you are using Workstory you for sure need to have someone who is staying up to date with it. Who is thoughtful enough to interpret the feedback, provide insights and to encourage others to use it.

Pros

I have not seen anything on market that does what WorkStory does. There are a lot of feedback programs out there but they take a lot of work and can be very distracting. I like how WorkStory integrates easily into Slack. Reviews can all be done in Slack, so no having to go into another program to do your review. I like how you can schedule reviews on a regular cadence and get prompted to give feedback with specific questions. It is also nice to go into their dashboard as an employee or manager and to see what people having been giving you for feedback. As a manager you can also see how your team is doing as well. The process of doing a review is very simple and really takes someone just a minute or two a week to fill out.

Cons

Workstory is great software. a couple of things that I think could be improved on 1) It can be hard to manage cadence and quantity of reviews. For instance, when a new hire joins the team you need to set them up to ensure that they are getting reviewed and are reviewing others. There is no way that I know of currently that shows you a nice summary of all employees and who they are reviewing and who is reviewing them without going into each individual profile. As such I track this offline. I do this because we want to ensure that people are not overloaded with reviews and I want something that easily shows me at a glance the quantity of reviews 2) Also when you set up the cadence you put down how often you want reviews to occur. There is no way to individualize this so if the cadence is every 2 weeks, if you have a manager who has 15 people assigned to them they would be doing 15 reviews whereas someone with only 2 reports assigned to them would be doing 2. 3) Also the system works/requires ratings. This can be both good and bad. For our team I have found that having ratings for reviews sometimes caused employees to become to fixated on the rating and less focused on the review. Also employees tended to rate employees higher because they didn't want to offend them 4) Also there is a ton of data. Sometimes it can be difficult to keep track of all of the feedback.

Reason for choosing WorkStory

WorkStory is really the only company that I found that does what they do. All other alternatives are very bulky complete performance systems.

WS allows us to provide specific, actionable feedback to our teammates. Managers and their team members are able to have deeper conversations by both working off of the same, objective data provided by the team members' peers.

Pros

Being able to have teammates be consistently reviewed by their peers every week by asking simple, specific questions, has made our ability to have detailed, objective performance reviews with teammates at any given time a key value addition to working on our teams.

Cons

It does not yet have the ability to be customized with company colors. I have requested a couple of custom features (which the WorkStory team is implementing on adding as I type).
