### "Revit is worth the time to learn to use"

September 19, 2024

4.0

I am a decades long AutoCad user, switched to Revit in the last few years. The switch over was fairly simple. Working with models already created to manipulate them is quite intuitive, creating stairs, roofs and schedules is challenging.

Pros

The ease at which a building design can be changed, multiple ideas and concepts can be explored.

Cons

There are some simple tasks in AutoCad that are made much more difficult in Revit. The ability to create tables by just adding the data yourself is very difficult. Schedules in general are tricky to set up

### "Feature rich at a high cost and steep learning."

November 8, 2024

5.0

Amazing and frustrating at the same time. So many features and plug-ins to use but the learning is steep and can be rather complicating. But if you know how to work around them, it shows why its am industry standard tool.

Pros

Standard and feature rich tool for floorplans and even designing!

Cons

High Cost and feature rich means steeper learning curve.

My experience with Revit is extensive and spans various aspects of its use in architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) projects. Revit is a powerful Building Information Modeling (BIM) tool that facilitates the creation of detailed 3D models, comprehensive documentation, and collaboration across multiple disciplines.

Pros

The tools allow the Civil Engineer to draw the structural design and analyze the integrity of the proposed design.

Cons

The user interface of the tool is difficult for beginners to understand.

### "Revit the best yet the worst!"

January 5, 2024

4.0

Overaly, its a good software. its just too bulky, and too difficult to learn, and the UI is too old school. other than that , it does deliver

Pros

Revit provides a platform were different diciplines in contruction can work together simultaneously i.e an architect and an enigineer dont need to change softwares to wokr on rhe same project , everything all of then need is in the software . 2. Revit is morden, and provides all necesary tools for a morden architect, engineer or designer. 3. Of all BIM software , revit has the most support from different partners. it has the largest stick of assets on the market

Cons

1\. its too bulky. 2. It has the stepest learning curve 3. the user interface is a mess, it still resembles ancient softwares like autocard. Archicad is more morden and easy to use compared to revit 4. the controls in the software are quite a work around

### "O Revit para Arquitetos."

May 5, 2023

5.0

Cons

O problema do revit é a dificuldade.

### "Best tool for parametric modelling"

January 2, 2024

4.0

Very comprehensive and easy to use software that has made creating models and streamlining design easy and fast.

Pros

Revit is the best and easiest tool to create parametric bim models when compared to the others. It has the shortest learning curve and the most tools available

Cons

It struggles when importing geometry from non revit formats even if it is coming from the same ecosystem (autocad). It also needs to improve the topography

### "Utilizing Revit"

December 14, 2023

It's a love/ hate relationship. It's a good tool but needs a lot of further development to connect with other tools. It's good for production if set up properly.

Pros

Revit is a system, and if set up properly, will meet a lot of needs. But a lot of additional plug ins and tools necessary.

Cons

Having used the program many years I know the quirks. There are a lot of them... Many simple things you'd think would be simple are not in that the way the program was built. Slow timeline for improvements.

### "architect employe review "

July 19, 2023

4.0

I believe that Revit is so far the best program out there. Everyone can use it even without going to courses or classes. It's at everyone's reach either they are designer's or not. It suits beginners and experts.

Pros

Revit is one of the easiest yet practical programs out there for architects and interior designers. Its very easy and we can say forward and straight to the point. having to draw either 2d's,3d's, details drawings, etc. is very doable even if you don't have a great experience with it. It helps you from the first year of collage until even working on you first job.

Cons

What i least like about Revit is the outcome of the final renders are not always with high quality even when you change the settings to the best, yet sometimes it turns out not as good as you need. The lighting and it's settings are as well a but complicated either the sun light settings or even the illumination of any lighting fixture you add.

### "The key to get into 3D modeling era."

September 8, 2019

4.0

Overall I hightly recommend to purchase revit if u are in construction business. This software is cost effective and less time consuming interms of creating 3d models. This is a visually appealing software to work with.

Pros

My construction firm uses revit as a standard software for 3d modeling and interior designing for more than 2 years. Our company strongly believe in keeping up with the latest technology as a strategy to stay solid in this competitive business. For that revit itself has evolved alot during this two years. I feel rivit is a must know software for any architect, civil engineer or an interior designer. The best part using revit is u can give attention to each and every element individually with more care which will make a huge difference inthe final output. The inbuilt library feature is large and requires some time to master in it.this product can be integrated with Autodesk recap,3D max, sketchup,Autodesk cloud..etc. from the root level of a design to validating a design revit can be used without a question with industry standards.above all revit not only satisfies the user but also the client .

Cons

Honestly revit has nothing much to worry as a basic 3d modeling software, but it of course requires some time to master but at the end of the day its worthy. And also it demands a computer with high functioning capability. And also I have noticed that we can not input any pdf formets into it. And there is no reterograde compatibility since the older version had no cloud feature. As my last point revit predominantly focuses on structural elements only I wish if this improves further to help the designers as well.

Alternatives considered

Reason for choosing Revit

We chose revit because of its advancements and the ability to give special attention to individual elements of a design model. And also it has good reviews from the users compared to other softwares that we encountered.

Switched from

[AutoCAD Architecture](https://www.capterra.com/p/172801/AutoCAD-Architecture/)

We switched from Autocad because autocad mainly focuses on 2d designs. The world is changing so we have to keep up with the new advancements.and also from my personal experience revit is more effective and more sensible to use.

### "Revit - A Tool In The Autodesk Toolbox"

June 13, 2022

4.0

Overall, Revit is a clean 3D architectural program that makes designing a breeze. It's build for what we need and accomplishes almost every task we ask it to.

Pros

Revit is exactly that, a tool. It's there when you need it as long as you know how to use it. It's been an important part of our business in landscape construction & development. The greatest part of Revit is that its integrated with the rest of the Autodesk products. I can swap back and fourth from AutoCad, to Revit, and render it in a different program with Photoshop. It can be used as a standalone tool but it's best integrated with the whole suite.

Cons

Revit is very intuitive to use but at times it's easy to get stuck when you're new and they don't have as much built in training as some of the other programs.

Reason for choosing Revit

Revit seemed to be the most put together program with accompanying tools such as Autocad and Photoshop, tools that we use frequently together.

I love Revit! It made my life easier when preparing Construction Documents.

Pros

I love how easy it is to coordinate with other team member. Also, it is helpful when trying to avoid mistakes since elements are related and changes in one view will update other relates views.

Cons

I think Revit is a complex tool and it can be difficult and expensive to implement in companies.

### "Evaluando Revit"

November 4, 2022

5.0

Switched from

### "Revit review"

January 7, 2022

4.0

My experience has been very good, it is a modern BIM authoring software and deploying this across our organization has been reasonably easy with training. Once users start using it they do not want to go back to 2D ways of working.

Pros

This BIM authoring software works very well against modern AEC information production and management. The software benefits from many plugins and integrations to help with this as well. Dynamo integration is very helpful to automate and speed up information production and management.

Cons

Very expensive and the subscription model means that each year prices increase by around 5%. Autodesk has also been criticized for not developing the software adequately, especially in light of the price increases. Once you are in the software it is hard to move away.

### "Revit excels at creating both 2D and 3D designs, as well as modaling and beautiful perspective rende"

December 26, 2022

5.0

This program is using by large, developed companies, and there is a strong market demand for it among construction companies. Because of my expertise of it, it brought me a lot of money and saved us time and effort. I counsel every pioneer in this subject to learn and used it.

Pros

The Autodesk Revit program is a 3D design tool that is vital to the collaboration between engineers with different structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and sanitary specialties. As a result, there is a high level of coordination in the work and fewer mistakes because of early project teamwork. It is one of the most significant applications of Building Information Modeling (BIM), where construction engineers can enter realistic properties of objects and simulate how they interact with one another before actually implementing them. It is a sophisticated way to create models from buildings and structures that are completely similar to reality. Alternatively, a film that demonstrates the project's progression through its many stages without countless words and descriptions

Cons

Backwards incompatibility and absence of an automated changelog

### "A solid assurance to find project systems flaws before implementation."

March 7, 2023

5.0

Revit has become an indispensable tool for our projects, as we can always find interference between systems, as well as we can find appropriate solutions without affecting the workflow on the site.

Pros

Revit is the best BIM program ever, and they have strong modeling tools, which enable us to design a thorough 3D simulation for all civil and architectural works and the project's MEP systems. Revit provides great cooperative capabilities, which enables us to distribute the burden of work according to the specializations with high efficiency, as well as we can involve external advisers at any time to participate in the design or amendment of some parts. It is great that there are many ingredients and ready-made elements, as well as integration with AutoCAD can easily import two -dimensional plans and work to assemble them within Revit so that we can get a very accurate three-dimensional simulation for designs, which enables us to discover any interference between the different systems of the project and work on Amending its course before a time before the actual implementation of the site appeared.

Cons

We cannot talk about the negatives of Revit if we exclude the high price, which is an obstacle to adding new members from within the institution. It should also be noted that the device's capabilities have a major role in the smooth use of Revit, and the user will suffer if his device has weak capabilities. Sometimes I also face difficulty when opening plans from previous versions.

My overall experience is great as I get to produce work for multiple industries in construction.

Pros

Features I like the most are the collaborative tools on Revit as they help me explore more ideas from other experienced users.

Cons

It should be designed in such a manner that interior designers can use it too. It is quite difficult for interior designers to use it because it is focused more on exterior designs.

### "Agrxis Review on Revit"

May 13, 2023

5.0

My overall impression of Revit has been quite excellent. It is a really helpful tool for creating and modeling building structures, in my experience as an architect. The software is simple to use and intuitive, making it simple to create 2D and 3D graphics. The program has an incredible array of features and capabilities that give the design process a great deal of flexibility.Having said that, there have been instances where I've thought some aspects were underdeveloped or challenging to utilize. For instance, I would like to see additional customization possibilities in some of the annotation tools. The program can also be fairly resource-intensive, which might affect how well it performs on PCs with less horsepower.Despite these minor drawbacks, I consider Revit to be a vital tool for my job and would strongly advise other architects and designers to do the same. I was able to develop more precise and thorough models of my projects with the aid of the program, which has greatly expedited many areas of the design process. Overall, I have had a great experience working with Revit.

Pros

Because Revit has such strong 3D modeling features, I really liked using it. I can make intricate building models with the software, and I can view them accurately and realistically. I also value having access to such a large collection of pre-made components and having the freedom to design my own unique elements.Additionally, Revit's collaboration tools are quite useful because they let numerous team members work on the same model at once and quickly communicate updates and changes. The excellent annotation capabilities in Revit make it simple to provide thorough annotations and dimensions in my drawings.Overall, Revit has exceeded my expectations, and I heartily endorse it to anyone working in the design or construction sectors who is searching for a robust and user-friendly 3D modeling program.

Cons

I have used Revit and have come across some features that I believe should be enhanced. For instance, I occasionally discover that the rendering capabilities are constrained and that it can be challenging to create my 3D models with the desired level of detail. Furthermore, although the software provides a variety of tools for annotations and documentation, I occasionally find these tools to be challenging to use successfully.

### "Advantages of using Autodesk Revit in the Construction Industry"

March 30, 2022

4.0

Pros

What I like about the software is that it is very user-friendly and very straightforward to use. I have been an Autodesk Revit user for more than 7 years now and I have also used and explored other 3D authoring software, attended training and product presentations and I find the Autodesk Revit software easier to learn for beginners and the user interface is simple and complicated. The processes and workflow for other 3D authoring software are mostly long and complicated which can be confusing to new users and beginners which is I think is the key reason most companies in our industry prefer to use the Autodesk Revit software.

Cons

What I like the least about this software is that it is not backward compatible which is sometimes troublesome during the start of the project because Revit files that are saved by the latest version of Revit cannot be opened by the older versions which sometimes creates problems when the parties involved are using different versions.
