I is professional, you draw every line so you know what you made and dont have to rely on parametric design. Pros It is industry standard in architecture and engineering. I am using in for 30 years now and still coming back even if it tried Revit and Archicad. Cons By years it has becomes very robust, 20% of features I have never used/need. As I dont need 3D I am using just LT version. It is very expensive but alternatives doesnt meet the usability and compatibility. It definitely takes some time upfront to learn properly beyond simple line work, but once you get your routine down, it’s fast and dependable. The price is annoying and 3D isn't its strength, but for getting actual construction drawings out the door, it’s still the tool I rely on most. Pros What I like most about AutoCAD is just how fast and precise you can be once you know what you’re doing. Setting up custom shortcuts, layer standards, and dynamic blocks saves a ton of time on repetitive work. Plus, since pretty much everyone in the industry uses the .dwg format, sharing files with other teams, clients, or consultants is completely painless. Once you have your templates set up, pumping out clean, accurate drawing sets is as straightforward as it gets. Cons The subscription pricing is definitely the main downside—it gets expensive real quick, especially if you're running a smaller operation. On the other side, it becomes slow while using it, mainly for the "autosave" feature Pros It's still the best tool to make 2D drawings from scratch. It's very easy to copy and paste parts of drawings using the block feature Cons I don't like the fact that settings are implemented in user's template. It becomes tricy to edit an external drawing: all settings (for example quotes) don't keep the original drawing setting but they use user's setting. It is great that the overall layout has not changed too much over time where it would be difficult to find many items you are used to in previous versions. There are little refinements over the years that keep making the software better and better. Pros I have used AutoCAD for years and I like the ease of use and how features continually get improved to make drafting that much easier. I like how AutoCAD can be used to quickly draft in 2D when you need to get a drawing out quick as opposed to using Revit which can take some time because of the 3D nature. Cons The thing that I liked the least about AutoCAD is just that some commands are not too easy to find and require a few digging into the menus to find the right command you need.
