If more people used it, the advantages would be greater. I recognize that it is still early in the introduction of the software. It allows me to keep large teams informed and updated as well as prepare signature packages, review signed documents, compile final documents and prepare record books significantly faster than completing these tasks in other ways. The platform's really easy to use once you get the hang of it, and it keeps everything organized so I don't have to chase down docs or worry about version control. I like how it handles signature pages and closing books automatically and saves a ton of time. It did take a bit to figure out all the features, and I’ve bumped into small annoyances like font hiccups or having to mark things as final, but those haven’t really slowed me down. Plus, their support team’s been super responsive whenever I needed help. All in all, it’s a solid tool that helps me stay on top of transactions without the usual stress. Pros The organization of the documents and filing system. Legal transactions are chaotic and Closing Folders helps us organize the documents in a proper way. Cons I didn't realize that marking the document as final was different than doing a final compile. I am not sure why there are two separate "finalizing" options. The customer service offered by Closing Folders is outstanding. Pros I like being able to organize my file and track the status of the documentation. It makes it easy for anyone to log into the file and know exactly where the transaction is at and what remains outstanding. Creating signature packages for our clients to sign has never been easier. Closing books created through Closing Folders makes reporting to our clients a breeze. Cons When I am in the item and I select "upload signature", it would be helpful if it automatically uploaded to that item as opposed to going to a separate window and having to scroll through the entire agenda to find the specific item that signature page relates to. I believe this was an option in the original version of closing folders. Also, when selecting "Manage Signatures" the program freezes quite frequently when you create a new signatory this way. The functionality that allows opposing counsel to view documents without editing eliminates dozens of emails and facilitates a faster closing. Closing folders saves hours post closing administrative work and creates client ready closing books. Cons Updating the agenda can be a little clunky and time consuming. I am able to manage and organize large transactions seamlessly in a very efficient manner. This allows me to have better control over each transaction and have a better understanding on what matters remain outstanding. I also like the fact that I can tag signature pages, easily compile signature package, and then, when the signed signatures pages are received from all parties, easily upload these documents all in the matter of seconds.
