Pros The ability to install this software in minutes on an unlimited number of Macs or PCs is invaluable. Even more so, is the ability to work on a presentation with multiple team members simultaneously from remote locations. Cloud syncing is a huge plus of this software. The user interface is straightforward and intuitive; so much so that you actually feel inclined to use the software and be creative while doing so. The ability to edit a slide real time while not going “off air” is great. Cons It does lack some of the customizability that more complex software, like ProPresenter, provides. It would be nice to send true transparencies out instead of needing to key a background color out (having more background color choices for keying would also be great). Sometimes the presentations can be a little laggy when scrolling, but this is by no means a show stopper. This is so much more than a lyric display software. The resources that Faithlife has already prepared and the tools that they give you to customize those images allows you to do all of your work from within the one piece of software if you are willing to learn to work within that framework. Cons Some things have been a bit difficult for people to figure out because it wasn't intuitive to how they thought. After watching the videos people have figured out how things work within the software and everyone has been able to make good use of it with minimal training. The training videos have been very helpful with that. When it goes bad -- very bad! Pros It easily takes all of the imports from the Logos Sermon Builder platform or from Microsoft Power Point. Cons The inability to control the timing of updates is a VERY BAD thing. Streaming integration - absolutely necessary for this day and age, is getting worse, not better. The help and support available when needed is second to none. We have a number of people contributing on any given worship gathering so Proclaim gives us a great collaborative tool. It has great connectivity functionality and has been making strides towards being wireless and having excellent cloud integration! Pros I currently use Proclaim and it has been very helpful for my organization (religious institution) in planning our services. I use another, similar software as well and so it is interesting to see the similarities and differences with each. What I like MOST about Proclaim is its MOBILITY... I can literally download the software onto my laptop and work on it anywhere I go. If I have a last-minute adjustment to make, I just open my computer, make the change, and it shows up on all other devices logged into my Proclaim account, including the main computer at my organization. That is definitely my favorite part of the software! Cons I don't really have anything negative to say about Proclaim, but if there was one thing to pick on, it would be the lack of media options. I expected the software to come pre-loaded with default media like still/moving backgrounds, wallpapers, audio files, etc, but there hasn't been much selection. I’ve used ProPresenter for a number years before Proclaim and I’d still recommend this product for most churches. The UI is much more intuitive. Pros The volunteers who run this at our church love how easy it is to operate. Although the user interface is intuitive, it is able to do SO MUCH. We have begun to automate our lighting system through the presentation (between worship and preaching, post and pre services). We also have it setup to overlay text to our livestream setup. This is an amazing product and Faithlife has great customer support and actively update their products. Cons The scrolling in the software is sometimes “choppy” but it doesn't affect the use ability. As pastor, I’m upfront so don’t really do the live-streaming part. We have three different groups/people who lead worship, and they can insert song or announcements into a service from home. Pros We implemented the use of Proclaim on a moment’s notice due to churches being shut down in Washington state due to COVID. We needed to purchase a couple pieces of equipment to live-stream, and once we had everything the techies at Proclaim support walked us through the process. They were patient and helpful. Prior to live-streaming we used Proclaim within the church and the learning curve was easy due to the tutorials online. We like the simplicity and ease of putting the service together. Cons There was a bit of a learning curve as to where OBS ended and Proclaim started, but that was overcome quickly. Reason for choosing Proclaim by Logos Due to the pastor being familiar with Faithlife products, primarily Logos, we immediately went to Proclaim. They were a little slow to embrace the software. Funny, they are 35 years younger than me. Pros It allows us to have seamless services without having to jump around to different software to show videos or other presentations. It allows us access from remote locations - really convenient. I don't have to be at the church to update the files. Finally, it allowed us to have fb live and you live services with relative ease. Our online experience was greatly enriched. We can create a new presentation for a Sunday service in minutes. Cons 1\. How can we better use this remotely. I would love to have off site services have access to this software as well as using it for events that are in the community. 2. Integration with outside media, jpg files is still a little strange. December 22, 2020 5.0 I got super excited about this software. It has made me realize the potential for easily increasing productivity, quality, and integration. However, as I mentioned in the cons, it is a bit of a letdown when several of the key features don't work quite as advertised. This being said, there is a lot in this software and if the Proclaim team will keep working to improve, I will be using the software for as long as I can imagine. Pros Makes adding songs, references, and sermon slides crazy efficient by integrating lyrics, clouds, backgrounds, calendars, collaboration, all under one intuitive software. Plus, it allows you to take presentations to the next level with a confidence monitor for the band, and interactive features such as questions that can be answered on your phone and more. Cons Many of the features I got really excited have in practice been a let down. For example, adding chords to the confidence monitor is a big deal! But, the 'key change' feature just doesn't seem to work. Another let down was the remote app. For one, you can't download it to windows devices (like surface) AND if you try to use it to write on verses the verses are blurred on the remote when using the 'real bible' feature. It has given us so many opportunities to share our sermons that we would not otherwise have had. Pros I love that I can work from any where. The cloud based storage is great for working on the go or at the house. I no longer have to be at the church to create slides or finish Sunday's presentation. It also has tons of great features like the recording cues, which publish your sermon automatically to your site! It is super user friendly and I have trained three other volunteers to proficiently use the software. Cons There aren't many aspects that I dislike about this software. There are sometimes when PowerPoints have not loaded correctly and audio has not transferred to the site correctly. Overall, these are fairly insignificant when considering the product as a whole. This has been a fantastic tool! Pros I love how easy it is to integrate a slide presentation made on Apple Keynote into an overall Sunday morning presentation. I can produce my sermon slides and they can easily be added to the slides for the songs that we are also sining that morning. Cons It can seem a bit daunting at first; but honestly, this is easily overcome. Proclaim seems to be highly intuitive, actually. It is multi presentation and location so it can be used at differing meetings at the same time, presenting either the same or differing items. It is relatively easy to learn and the skill needed to just present is minimal. It has the ability to present a very wide range of slides and streams internet content very easil. Cons Doesn't always like PowerPoint uploads from a Mac. Reason for choosing Proclaim by Logos Down to functionality and online access for all, for our needs and pricing, having the ability to multi broadcast and ease of use was important. Proclaim isn't perfect, but it works well for our needs and much better than what we had before. Pros Proclaim's user interface is very good. It's easy to create slides, edit slides, and to reorder slides. Also, Proclaim has good options to add things on the fly. For instance, we can put a Bible verse on the screen that we had no idea our pastor would discuss within seconds. Cons Proclaim provides many slide themes that we can choose. However, not every theme will have all the type of slides that we need. For instance, some themes lack announcement slides while others will lack hymnal slides. Review Source KS Kevin S. Via Proclaim we projected announcements, Scripture, song lyrics, and sermon slides all in one package, and afterwards Proclaim would automatically upload the sermon slides and audio to our website (and as a podcast). It has made life so much easier for us as a small church. Pros We like that Proclaim has a large number of features that are integrated into the application: Importing Bible text, importing song lyrics (even more if one has a CCLI license), and automated recording and uploading of sermons / podcasts to the church website (if one has a Faithlife Site, which we do). Collaboration was a big deal for us too, as our song leader could edit his music lyrics from home while I edited my sermon outline slides. Amazing. Cons The hardest part of Proclaim for us was how it was so unlike PowerPoint, which is what we used before. Proclaim does not have the complex design capabilities. Proclaim focuses really on one idea per screen, instead of multiple bullet points. One one learns to work around and through the clunkiness, it actually becomes second nature to use. Part of the FaithLife family of products, Proclaim offers integrations with a number of the other FaithLife products for advanced features. Proclaim will push Bible verse or screen cues to congregants using the FaithLife Logos Bible app. We have found this feature to be clever, but not terribly useful, as most people use the LifeChurch Bible app at our location. There are a number of quirks in the Proclaim software... it will overwrite songs if you press enter to early when loading a song. Cloud based is great, but the presentation will sometimes lag if the connection to their servers are not strong. Presentation options are limited. Basically, if you are looking to use it outside of their \*exact\* intention, your user experience may suffer. However, if you are comfortable in the box that they provide, you will be rewarded with some great presentation software. Pros Simple, easy to use presentation software. Interface is great for volunteers to help use. Cons Connections to the presentation can be slow, causing slide transitions to happen with a significant lag. Limited display options. Cons I have not come across anything I absolutely could not do without but it would be nice to be able to integrate websites and have access to control them. I have wanted to play a video for a website but could not because once the website is added I could not press play. Super patient - got it done for us! Pros Our congregation made a move to Proclaim a few years ago and we have been very satisfied, both with the functionality and support. Being able to project and also record is really important as is being able to control the screen from a tablet or phone. Pros There is a huge still-image media collection available, and there is a lot of opportunity to edit slides and create new or edited slides. Shorter video files can be added in easily, and importing music files and lyrics for use later also works well. Cons Sermon editing is not as flexible as in PowerPoint. Text effects and multiple items per slide are much more limited, if using more visual elements instead of simple outline is important to you. PowerPoint can be imported, but runs less efficiency.
