### "Crossbar Review"

July 16, 2023

4.0

\[sensitive content hidden\] was awesome in helping us transition from League Athletics over to Crossbar. We are still in the early stages of understanding all that Crossbar has to offer but overall I really like the site, the ease of use, and the number of features it brings to our membership.

Pros

I really like the overall look and ease of navigation of the Crossbar site. Adding content is super easy and provides enough options to really personalize the site. The automatic billing feature is also a big plus for our organization as we have had to track down payments every year.

Cons

I am relatively new to Crossbar. We will be using it for the first time this fall as the season starts. Up to this point, we are just getting everything ready. I find the membership section a bit clunky. I find myself clicking between the member search and registration pages to find specific information. Would also be good to be able to find and delete duplicates. We were not able to bring over our database of members and past members so we lost a lot of our mailing lists. I understand we can upload them but now we will have duplicates.

### "Great tool for sports management!!!"

February 27, 2024

4.0

We love Crossbar and we know improvements are coming to help in the areas it may lack. Look forward to seeing what you come up with. Price is great! Support is great!

Pros

It looks very modern and professional. Very user friendly for setup and use. Support has been awesome and one of the main reasons I would suggest to others. \[sensitive content hidden\] is great!!

Cons

There are a lot of good help documents but they are very high level and could be detailed out more with different scenarios. Examples from other organizations for different sports would be VERY helpful so users can setup based on someone else's experiences to save time and energy.

It was being sold and converted to SportsEngine (I think). But it was very old technology and very pricey and not user friendly.

### "Communication is horrendous "

December 9, 2025

1.0

Horrible, you can see your kids schedule but without notification functionality via email or by phone

Pros

Not much, someone could print a schedule and it will be better than an app that gives no notification

Cons

The notifications DON'T work, the company doesn't respond to their Feedback. If your schedule is changed you dont get notified. If someone uses messenger, you aren't notified. It doesn't even show you received messages. You go into messages and find all these messages you missed. Meaning missed time changes, missed team announcements, etc. They have a feedback spot in their app but provide ZERO responses.

### "Happy we made the change!"

July 12, 2023

5.0

Coming from an antiquated platform over to Crossbar was a dream! The support is amazing and the features were everything that we had wanted and longed for. It produces a nice looking page and easy to use functions.

Pros

Most functions were easy to use and intuitive. I loved the ease of the email function and ability to add links and photos, resulting in an attractive final product. Also having the app functions was a great addition from our last platform. Our parents loved the ability to view the roster and the chat function proved vital.

Cons

We encountered a small learning curve, but the support staff was always quick to answer our questions.

### "Thanks for reaching out to my email box!"

February 27, 2024

5.0

The whole process has been super easy and the staff have always been available to help. I love the chat function, and I have used it many times. \[sensitive content hidden\] makes herself available to me and my board members and walks us through set ups slowly and works hard to make our needs accomplishable.

Pros

Ease of use. \[sensitive content hidden\] is always so pleasant and walks me through things I don't understand.

Cons

I can't think of any right now. We only started using this a couple weeks ago.

### "Great Solution for Club Management"

September 19, 2022

5.0

The software is great. But the people are even better. Not only helped us through configuration, but we added Google Workspace for Non Profits and embed HubSpot forms for us to contact alumni, fundraise, etc. Really solid experience and our site was up in less than 10 days.

Pros

The software is built by hockey parents so it's perfect for us. Easy to set up leagues, tourneys, teams, events and schedules to keep everyone aligned.

Cons

Took a little time to figure out the structure, but once you do you can clone seasons and move seamlessly.

Reason for choosing Crossbar

Great experience with them right out of the gate.

### "Happy with the Switch"

July 20, 2023

4.0

Overall our experience with Crossbar has been very positive, both on the back end and on the user end. We were able to set it up and start using it very quickly, the customer support has been exceptional, and the management is very easy. There are a few things that we have to ask Crossbar to do for us, instead of doing them ourselves, which can be frustrating, but overall it has been a good experience so far.

Pros

The platform is very easy to use on the back end. Creating the website was a breeze and we were able to start using it right away. The implementation process with the Crossbar team was fast and straightforward. The interface is fairly easy for users.

Cons

We are still trying to figure out how to capture info for people who are just interested versus those who are registering, so we still have to rely on our old spreadsheets to a certain degree. Having more of a CRM function would be helpful.

Switched from

[LeagueApps](https://www.capterra.com/p/127065/LeagueApps/)

We were using a competitor program before which was complicated and confusing on the back end and didn't allow us the flexibility of design and control that we have with Crossbar. Customer service at Crossbar is also much better - the response time is extremely fast and we have a dedicated staff person we know we can reach out to anytime.

### "Good site and good support"

February 28, 2024

4.0

The pros definitely outweigh the cons. I would recommend the product.

Pros

I like the fact that within 10 minutes we had a operational site with post and registrations. The costumer service during the setup process was phenomenal and they were very patient with us and our questions. The look of the site is pretty good though I wish we could customize it a bit more. The communication with the teams is very easy and can be individualized.

Cons

In the payment processing, I wish we could print/email a receipt or an invoice to give to the parents after they have paid. The only solution I was given was to take a screenshot, which is not a very professional look. There are a couple of other small things but nothing that can't be navigated around.

### "Crossbar is fantastic "

July 11, 2023

5.0

Pros

Crossbar makes it so much easier to manage a sports organization. We previously used SportsEngine. Crossbar is so much better and so much easier to use. The Crossbar team will train you in about an hour or less on how to use the website and app and what it can all do. I wish we would have switched to Crossbar years ago. Pricing is competitive.

Cons

Learning a new system always is a pain. But Crossbar made it easy and intuitive. Their customer support is top notch.

### "Great Website for our youth hockey club"

September 19, 2022

5.0

It has been great! They are very easy to get a hold of when you have a question and they will answer it so it is easy to understand. We have also gotten a lot of compliments on how easy the site is to use.

Pros

It is very user friendly and easy to figure out how to set things up. I also like that you manage this on your own rather then having to submit a request to have something updated.

Cons

There are some features that could be added to make things a little easier. Most are very minor, but would make a big difference.

### "CFYB Review"

July 12, 2023

5.0

Crossbar has been great for our league and we love all of the features it offers. We believe we took a big step for our organization with the addition of Crossbar and its easy-to-use functions. The mobile app may have been the best addition.

Pros

The complete site was well thought out and makes it very easy for an organization like ours to operate. The mobile app is great to be able to communicate and allow everyone to see exactly what is happening with their team. All of the functions are great functions that we didn't have the best access to before, like the bracketing for our league tournament was much easier than before.

Cons

There were a couple of things we noticed like when you are looking at the registrants and the list is long the scroll bar is off the screen when you are at the top of the list. So you have to scroll all the way down to find the scroll bar then go back and forth to get the the area you want to see. We also had one hiccup with when we selected to upload a birth certificate when an offer was made and it sent a note to the whole league that birth certificates were required for everyone.

Reason for choosing Crossbar

Best offer for what we needed in terms of functionality.

### "Excellent platform that will take your sports program into the 21st century "

September 20, 2022

5.0

Amazing. We compared this against 5 other platforms, and this was hands down the best solution at the right price. Couple that with the amazing customer service, and CrossBar is a homerun!

Pros

It is easy to use yet sophisticated, and the end product looks great. Customer service is also phenomenal. It's not often a platform that will take your feedback into consideration to enhance the product.

Cons

The scheduler is the one piece of the software we continue to struggle with. Much of this is because we are utilizing it in a way it was not initially considered. I believe the scheduler is still much better than many products out there and we will continue to learn how to make it work for us.

### "Crossbar is a step up for our organization"

July 12, 2023

4.0

Overall, our experience with Crossbar has been extremely positive and I would recommend it to any sports club looking to address their overall business website and management needs.

Pros

Our lacrosse club is growing, and we were looking for an app that would help us manage the club and provide tools useful to the club managers and coaches. Crossbar helped us with direct one-on-one support throughout the setup and rollout, and continued to provide support for any questions we had. The apps provide us with all the tools we need for maintaining a quality website with updated information, databases for our all of our families and teams, and tools for managing calendars, rosters, financials, etc. All around great product and perfect for our needs.

Cons

The app does take some basic training especially if users have no experience with a content management system. Advanced communications (e.g., within teams, specific users) requires some practice.

Reason for choosing Crossbar

cost was a large factor. Crossbar gave us most of the desired functionality at a cost that worked for our club.

July 11, 2023

5.0

Great! \[sensitive content hidden\] is awesome at what she does!

Pros

Registrations. Team management. The back end finance aspect is key.

Cons

We need to control how many register per age group. If they are a VT Jr. Cat or not(We offer discounts to our members) what position they are...goalie, forward, defense so we can cut off registrations once a particular position in a particular age group is full. Based on what I am seeing back that would mean we would need about 30 different registrations set up for the same camp or clinic. Too much time!

### "Crossbar makes life easier"

September 23, 2022

Our organization recently started using the platform and it's made my tasks much easier in many ways.

Pros

Lots of the features are user friendly like the registration reporting and web page management. Updates to player accounts for payment plans is very easy to utilize. I also like that USAH # and basic contact information is built in automatically to all registrations.

Cons

I wish there was a way to track dates of offers and dates offers were declined for better record keeping. I also wish that the downloadable spreadsheet for registrations included a column for the registration age groups.

### "MO Hockey Youth Division and Blue Note Cup Tournament Use of Crossbar"

September 19, 2022

5.0

It has been wonderful to have active support and a system that is much more user freindly both to the admisnitrators and all of our users.

Pros

Crossbar eliminated a lot of the hassels we had with our old system. The support we received setting everything up was fantastic. We have converted our regular season league operations to Crossbar and have also moved complete operation of our Blue Note Cup Championship tournament to the system. Corrbar was able to schedule the tournament and work around some of our specific needs and the support staff was there at all times.

Cons

Like any system there are little things that are different but once we got used to the operation I don't think there is anything significant we would change that we have not already put into place.
