Was thrilled when we were able to move the client away from it and onto Active Campaign. Pros Nothing. Really it is a terrible email platform. Cons The design features to layout and design creative emails is horrid. Nothing is intuitive. The platform is old and couldn't even convert a design to a text version. Every email campaign had to be designed first in visual form and then again in text form. It caused terrible overtimes in building out campaigns. Also its email automation/funnel system is really laughable. I need something simpler and someplace where the person I need to talk to for billing is able to be directly talked to on the phone. Here, if you have a problem, it's pass the buck central. Pros Once set up I could use the same template over and over again. Cons The customer service is atrocious and I'm soon going to find a new service. Cons The design components of email marketing are difficult to use consistently. The emails display differently in desktop Outlook and web Outlook, and I presume other email programs. Random formatting issues such as extra bullets, strange font sizes, etc. show up in some emails but aren't visible in the program so there's no way to fix them. Pros The editor is very user friendly as is the list management portion. Cons It feels a little bit dated in comparison to some other CRMs but for basic monthly email newsletters, one-off promotions and a database to store contacts, it's perfect and at the right price point. Reason for choosing Campaigner We didn't choose Campaigner, per say, as it was the progression from our old software, Streamsend. We loved the Publicaster system, but since we were forced onto the Campaigner system there has been nothing but problems - and they do not come close to resolving them satisfactorily. Cons The email designer needs software a better drag and drop email design interface and more templates to work with. The existing email design interface is too rigid and does not allow you to even modify their own templates. I've used it enough to feel comfortable with it. Cons I would like to see more options with the email layouts; more colors, options to choose your own colors, font options, and design options. There is a glitch in the software when loading an image. The software will jump suddenly from the segment you are working on back to the header at the top of the email. This happens frequently. Cons When editing existing contacts using a keyword search, if you edit one of multiple responses, the program sends you back to "all contacts" instead of the search result list. " October 9, 2018 1.0 Campaigner is one of the worst programs I have ever used. Their customer service was slow and useless. I am not sure how they built a program this bad. Pros There is nothing that I liked the MOST. Cons The software was incredibly slow and clunky. No matter what you were doing it is difficult. Inserting pictures? How about go through this 10 step process, oh, and that picture just messed up your entire e-mail. Want a custom button? Think again.
