Overall, you get what you pay for. For those switching from a more robust system you will be very frustrated and unhappy. For those just testing the waters I highly recommend it BECAUSE you can work out exactly what you want from an all-inclusive office software while spending nothing, but some time.

Pros

The biggest pro is the price. The free version is adequate if you have a no frills straight forward practice. If you are a practice that is switching from almost everything paper and don't want to pay a lot for software you will like how easy it is to set up, scan in documents, and keep decent fundamental SOAP notes / patient charts.

Cons

Customer service is as good as non-existent... Don't even try. The "ticket" format is better than waiting on the phone forever, but the response time is laughable. You can save macros/hot-button type things but the end note doesn't look that great (maybe others know how to make that better).

Pros

The interface looks nice. Document upload is very good.

Cons

There's a lot not to like. The worst part may be the EHR's clunkiness. There is a huge lag time and lots of time is wasted waiting for pages to load up. The EHR is very limited in its features and functionality. Customer support is very poor. Two people cannot be in the SOAP note at the same time. The messaging system is poor. Parts of the system completely stop working at times.

Pros

Extremely easy to use! One of the easiest that I have used. Customer Service is excellent they customize the whole software program for you.

Cons

They couldn't make us an inventory on the program that's why I had to go with another company. Not good for offices that don't take insurance and are not conventional

e prescribing is very cumbersome and takes much longer than simply writing out a script. Horrible support. Will take days to get a response! Has often crashed

I signed up for this product 3 years ago, and the most important feature for me was Patient Feedback. This feature separated this EHR from all others on the market. Today I received news that it will no longer be available. I practice in a very competitive area, and patients initially choose my practice based on online reviews, so this will impact my practice tremendously. It will cause loss of income and loss of new patients. Otherwise, there is nothing special about this EHR. After discussing this issue with Practice Fusion support rep I received an email asking me to fill out a survey about their service. Why is it that feedback is important to them, and not to my patients?

Cons

See above. Also, once patient makes an appointment online there is no immediate notification, so my office cannot respond in time to prevent double booking.

Unfortunately, we did not have a great experience with Practice Fusion. We tried for about a month, however due to lack of inconsistency and lack of customer service we had to move forward with a different company. When you call their line, they can't help you directly. They issue a ticket number and they will email you in 12-24 hours, if you ever heard back from them. Too many steps to resolve simple matters. I would rather pay some money per month and have everything run smoothly. I wish I could rate something higher, considering all the positive reviews I heard from friends and family. However, that was not the case with my own experience.

Pros

Most liked would be the fact that you can run the software on free terms. No contracts, Free membership

Cons

Least liked: complicated navigation dashboard and tools, not easy

The only time I was able to speak to customer service was at the beginning. After I signed the year contract I was unable to get help setting up my e-prescribing. I was unable to use it for the entire year, while I was paying the monthly fee.

Pros

It's on of the cheaper products and they made it easy and friendly to sign the contract.

Cons

Poor customer support, unable to set up and use e-prescribe. First year is under contract, if you don't like it they will not cancel the prescription. After I signed the contract I was unable to speak to customer service.

It is available to use on more than PC's. Easy to teach new employees.

Pros

Quick to learn. Nicely laid out for ease of use. Surprisingly detailed. Would recommend for any small practice.

Cons

We did not use the billing portion as it takes another interface. We could have made use of it for some money, but decided not to. Not really a con!

Horrible. This company should not be in business, and there should be a class action lawsuit against them.

Pros

Nothing, this company is fraudulent, scamming customers into subscriptions based entirely on false claims.

Cons

This company is fraudulent. They scam customers into subscriptions based entirely on false claims and once the customer is locked in they claim those claims were simple misunderstandings and refuse cancellation or refunds despite the software being useless to a user.

Pros

It allows small practices to use an EMR that is free and supportive to their practice. This is a badly needed commodity.

Cons

The doctors' notes are organized in a cumbersome way, and thus take a longer time than ideal to do. It would be much better if the progress note could be all together, instead of segmented into the S-O-A-P sections that require many clicks back and forth.

Pros

it has alot of functions connected to online pharamcies and laboratories was free in the past for some cloud based enables access from anywhere. the online version is touch optimized

Cons

costly. not suitable to people at the start of career (independent prctice) no ipad app (the online version is definitely not a full alternative as you can’t have offline copy of ur data) customer support is quite poor , days before u get a reply, if u do. not well suited to people outside of the USA

It's essentially easy to use. Everything is laid out in a cohesive manner. It's a great starter option for a company getting off the ground and does not a have a lot to invest in a more extensive and specific program.

Cons

It's not tailored towards our business. This is a more general medical based EHR and is not very compatible with the mental health aspect of our company.

Robust EHR. Excellent engineers with simplicity for user. incredibly bright tech support & helpful in problem solving.

Cons

Very weak customer service & tech suport. Charts need to be closed & often problems arise with no resolve before signing. Growing company must ramp up this vital aspect of their company - not ready for public offering without this vital component.

Pros

You cannot argue with the cost vs software. The software offers basic functionality so it would be beneficial to purhase another software that integrates with Practice Fusion. The software training is strictly user taught by online eLearning.

Cons

Practice Fusion has limited functionality. It also has alot of glitches in the electronic health record. The turn-around time for software glitches is not immediate. Recently, there was an issue with the software not scanning documents into the correct patient record.

### "PF has real issues that they refuse to deal with"

1\. PF refills come back to the provider who wrote the script. Sound logical but what happens when a provider is not in the office, sick, vacation or leaves. One needs to have their passwords to see their list which defeats the reason to have a password. This is a legal liability for the practice. I wrote PF to have all the refills come to a one list (as they do for labs) from which any provider can sign off on the refills. Can you imagine the difficulty of going in and out of multiple providers multiple times a day, restarting PF each time. This is the irrationality that PF forces you to do. 2. PF crashes a lot due to its use of FLASH. Plan on restarting PF multiple times a day. 3. PF has an internal email in which you can put many names in the 'TO' field. You would think that all those people would see the email. You would be mistaken however since the first person who files the email removes the email for all the other people. Logical? NOT! I could go on an on. Selling points are that PF is free and the script writing is very good.

Cons

No onsite help. Practice Fusion is not integrated with most of image center in our area. We hope to have more labs integrated with Practice Fusion as well. Also, want to have reminder on Meaningful User and PQRS. More templates for specialist.

Pros

I had to learn this software for my new job and could not be more pleased at how quickly I was able to catch on. I really like that I can navigate easily between tabs and being able to scan files have them stored electronically.

Cons

The only thing I can think of is it would be nice to be able to just scan files directly to the program as opposed to scanning, saving to the PC then uploading. Other than that all is good!

I have been very disappointed with the service aspect of Practice Fusion. Their refusal to let me speak to a manager and telling me to get another business email rather than being able to change how a free trial account worked was disappointing.

Pros

I liked that there was a free trial to see how the product worked. I found it was not appropriate for my business and decided not to purchase a subscription.

Cons

The customer service was terrible. I did a free trial and decided to not buy it. I have been unable to retrieve referrals from other doctors who use this product since the free trial because my email is "tied up." I put in 2 help tickets and they were unable to help. I then called customer service. They suggested I get a new business email or buy their product to change my email in their system. I asked to speak to a manager and they refused.

Pros

Pros is Free and EMR is very easy to learn and teach. Some labs are integrated with system and lab results are available on the system.

Cons

Free text option. System could have more problems history sections and family history. Not all lab companies are integrated into system.

Overall, I think Practice Fusion is a great money-saving option for a lot of small medical practices.

Pros

Practice Fusion is very straightforward and user friendly. It's not super fancy, but it gets the job done and will save you tons of money compared to other EHRs.

Cons

PF is not ideal for optometry, though we were able to figure out a way to make it work. It would be nice if PF had more practice management features, but for the price, you can't complain.

### "Customer Service Killed The Transition "

Good reviews. Good concept (big pharm funding to create a platform). I am good with that.

Cons

We were not able to get past the horrific Customer Service experience while attempting to transition from ICANotes to PF. Could not move forward with setting up billing due to a clearinghouse issue which PF told us they would have to resolve and to call when we were ready to complete the transition. Called in to have a ticket submitted. Did not receive a response for over a day. We submitted another ticket and requested to speak to someone (Thursday morning). On Friday end of day we received an email with links but no phone call. Links were not helpful. Submitted another ticket on Monday requesting to speak to someone. We received a call late Monday afternoon. The customer service agent was unapologetic that she did not know how to assist us and seemed indifferent to assist us to resolve the issue. At that point we gave up on attempting to use Practice Fusion.
