It is also able to integrate with labs for ordering and results review. The eRx prescribing functionality is useful and in compliance with requirements. From the outset the program seemed awesome, and the tutorials were helpful. I was excited to be able to modify a patient intake form for my small practice, and change the chart around for what I needed. Cons But what I quickly realized was that "SAVE" doesn't "really mean" save, and that all the work I had done on my custom template disappeared when the program timed out. No warning, nothing. I saved it many times along the way, after it happened the first time, but to no avail~ I still lost what I thought I had saved the second time around. Also, it was unresponsive many other times. November 18, 2013 5.0 To find another free EMR with all the features and support that I have with Practice Fusion - would be a task. I tried other free and low cost EMRs - especially the ones targeted toward small practices - and what set Practice Fusion apart - was the seamless updates and Tech Support. I can chat with a tech or send email and can get a problem fixed in a very short amount of time. The features just keep coming and the blog is kept updated with the ongoing plans and future goals for changing the EMR and the moderators are quite good at responding to threads that have activity regarding changes and/or updates that us - the users want and need. October 21, 2013 2.0 It is easy, straightforward and gets the job done. It is not efficient however. More than one person cannot be in the chart at the same time. There is no way of knowing this (forced stop, warning etc); however, until after you go back and find out all of your work is missing. The office staff and doctor ends up yelling to each other up and down the hallways "Are you OUT yet?" "Don't go in yet!" And, scanning in one person's insurance cards etc. can take upwards of 15 min per patient has each piece of paper has to be scanned, filed etc one at a time. I only used this for a month then switched quickly. Cons You have to use their online calendar to book all of your appointments. If you do not use their calendar, then you cannot use the EHR function. This is a big drawback that creates extra work. You also have to be ok with Practice Fusion selling your raw patient data to pharmaceutical companies. Yuck! Review Source AL Adam L. The icing on the cake is that it's free! There are no servers to maintain or annual upgrade fees. Best of all, Meaningful Use tracking and compliance is all built in! CMA Used the software for: ### "Ease of Practice Fusion" November 1, 2013 4.0 I have used different EMR's before and as far as the ease of Practice Fusion you can't beat it. It was a very easy system to learn and a great one for those just getting into EMR's. You have all the basics you need and even a few perks like referrals, lab results, and diagnostic imaging reports. It can always use more but for a free program you can not get better. I wish there were a few more perks like being able to scan right into a file, or more patient history documentation. Big step up from what we had before as the starting out system for our smaller mental health practice. August 6, 2015 5.0 I've been in the medical profession since 1990 (we had paper charts then). Since then, I've worked with 3 other EMRs and Practice Fusion is by far the easiest to use. We signed up with PF in December of 2012 when we opened our new medical practice. We have nothing but great things to say about PF. They usually perform updates every Thursday night so I like to see what has been added/changed first thing Friday morning. Practice Fusion is always improving. Maybe it's a problem with all cloud-based systems. There is a lack of flow sheet support. It makes tracking HEDIS, diabetes, anti-coagulation, and others very difficult. It is unfortunate that our local hospital system will not invest in the diagnostic portal. That would be very helpful. The templates and the ease of prescribing have been time savers. What I do not seem to have access to is patient satisfaction surveys. Can someone please help me find these aggregate results for my practice. March 15, 2018 5.0 It was easy to use and a great way to contact your Dr. if needed and/or after office hours. Very user friendly! Pros Quick way to contact your doctor or patient! It also provides easy communication and access to personal records! Cons Not too many cons here...but sometimes it takes the office awhile to post lab results and things patients are waiting to receive.
