" July 14, 2025 5.0 Overall, I have had a very pleasant experience utilizing Yahoo mail, I would say that the online platform is extremely used friendly. Pros I really like how user-friendly Yahoo mail is. Recently I have come to appreciate some of the different features that Yahoo mail has to offer such as the customization tool for folders and the security/privacy features. Cons I would have to say that one of the big cons of utilizing Yahoo Mail is that it is not as "mainstream" or common with other email users as opposed to Microsoft or Google. I used to use it to communicate with friends. Of course, this was before platforms like Facebook, Snapchat, and Instagram etc. Cons I disliked the fact that while logging in to Yahoo mail, I would get distracted by Yahoo media or news. I never regretted choosing yahoo over its competitors. Pros The User Interface is far better looking and the dark mode is the best. The competitors are way behind Yahoo Mail, atleast in UI UX. Cons Advertisements, the fact that I see Ads while seeing my emails seems so inappropriate. Competing emails seem to be much better. Pros it does basic mail functionality and that's about it. Nothing more than competing email systems. Cons 1\. Doesn't scale. I have been a yahoo email from it's inception and i have decades of email stored and it's become a problem for me such that i am seriously looking to move to gmail. 2. Lack of investment in new technology. Their competitors such as gmail, outlook have deeper pockets and are usually most up to date with new tech features such as AI. Their yahoo usability and user experience are always playing catchup. Why can't they lead! 3. Security. So much scam email. I just use alternative AI agents and it immediately picks them up as scams. Why can't yahoo just embed it in their system! 4. The advertising space takes precedence and such big display size such that your basic email reading is obscured. I have to always scroll down just to read my emails because their advertising takes up screen space. Yahoo's main priority is not user usability but paid advertising. It's not a free app! I even used Yahoo personals to get married to my wife but they do not have Yahoo personals any longer. Pros It came out before gmail. It has been around longer then gmail. I think I have been using it since I had an aol account. Cons It does not have features like cloud storage. I think it does not use ai, i think they have a long way to go improve this product. Pros Yahoo mail was easy to set up when I needed an additional email address. The biometric authentication also comes in handy. Cons I got a Yahoo Mail account to get a discount on a course and that site now uses "Password-less Authentication."
