### "A for Aolmail"

March 14, 2025

5.0

It was a great service for as long as I had it I had a good experience with it in the beginning but it's it's a good service now I just have two others that I use instead

Pros

AOL Mail was a good service it was easy to log into I loved it that you got mail message when we got an email which was nice I guess that's the only Pro I can think of could have been a while since I've had it

Cons

It lacked advanced features that other providers did but I just assumed that's because it was one of the first email providers I needed more advanced features so that's why I switched to another provider

### "AOL free email options simple to use for people not tech savvy"

January 16, 2025

4.0

AOL is nostaligic and is great free option for personal email especially having had it since day 1. Im noy wanting to have to give people i have corrosponded with thru that email for so many years (and who are now elderly and not good with change) a new email for me. The simplicity of it is helpful for using it in that manner. I have had a huge amount of spam that doesnt automatically get filtered to the spam box which is a nuisance. Also i get free version so more and more advertisememts are happening.

Pros

AOL is simple and basic really easy to navigate. It is compatible with older devices. It has unlimited storage and it is free.

Cons

It doesnt suppprt fingerprint or facial recognition for log in security being an older platform. I dont feel the security is there like GMAIL has and i tend to get alot more spam.

Switched from

[Juno](https://www.capterra.com/p/247582/Juno/)

Juno was incredibly slow and basic and my emails kept disappearing that were very important from my dad before he died. I couldnt find them to recover and i didnt even erase them i had them in folder on purpose si i wouldnt but one day they were just gone.

### "A Dependable Email Service for Everyday Use"

April 23, 2026

5.0

My overall experience with AOL Mail has been steady and reliable for basic email needs. It’s a simple platform that gets the job done without much complexity, which makes it easy to use on a daily basis. The interface is straightforward, and managing emails is fairly intuitive, especially for users who prefer a more traditional setup. That said, the experience can feel a bit dated compared to newer email services. While it performs well for sending, receiving, and organizing emails, it lacks some of the advanced features and seamless integrations that modern platforms offer. Occasional slowdowns or minor glitches can also interrupt the flow at times. Overall, AOL Mail is a dependable option for users who value simplicity and familiarity, but it may not fully meet the expectations of those looking for a more modern, feature-rich email experience.

Pros

AOL Mail offers solid value for money, especially considering it’s free and still provides reliable core email functionality without requiring upgrades for basic use. The platform is straightforward and easy to navigate, making the learning curve very minimal—even for users who aren’t particularly tech-savvy. One of its strengths is email management. Features like folders, spam filtering, and search work efficiently, helping keep inboxes organized without feeling overly complicated. It’s especially useful for users who prefer a more traditional email experience without too many advanced or distracting features. Customer support, while not heavily relied upon, is accessible through help articles and forums, which are generally sufficient for resolving common issues. In terms of performance, AOL Mail is relatively stable. While occasional bugs or minor loading issues can occur, they are not frequent enough to significantly impact day-to-day usage. Overall, it’s a dependable and user-friendly email service that delivers consistent performance for everyday needs.

Cons

While AOL Mail is functional, it can feel outdated compared to more modern email platforms. The interface, although simple, lacks the polish and customization options that many users expect today, which can impact overall user experience. In terms of value, while it is free, it comes with noticeable trade-offs—such as ads and limited advanced features—that other platforms offer more seamlessly. Customer support is another area that could be improved. Most help is routed through FAQs or community forums, and it can be difficult to get timely, personalized assistance for more complex issues. Email management tools, while basic and easy to use, are somewhat limited. Features like advanced filtering, integrations, and smart inbox organization are not as robust as those offered by competitors, which can be a drawback for power users. Additionally, users may occasionally experience bugs or slow loading times, especially when handling large volumes of emails. While not constant, these issues can be frustrating when they occur. Overall, AOL Mail serves basic needs but may fall short for users looking for a more modern, feature-rich, and seamless email experience.

### "AOL used to be the best. They Have been surpassed."

May 18, 2026

3.0

AOL used to be great but it seems it never got with the times. GMAIL is far more superior given it does not have the refreshing issues.

Pros

I have been an AOL user for almost my entire life. It is very user friendly and was the only email I used until a few years ago when I got a GMAIL.

Cons

My inbox has an issue that I can go days on end without it updating. Even if I keep refreshing it, it will not load the messages. This is not all the times but the variance is very frustrating.

### "AOL is the BEST"

April 26, 2026

AOL Mail is the way to go if you want to send/receive emails immediately. They actually spam filter unlike other mailing options.

Pros

I think my favorite thing about AOL Mail is the value for money! I’ve never had better customer support, email management and spam filtering. It is unbeatable! I have had no learning curve, or bugs and issues. Calendar Integration is top of the line.

Cons

I have yet to experience any issues with AOL Mail. I have used the software for 2+ years and no cons to report!

### "Review of AOL Email"

May 17, 2026

5.0

My overall experience with AOL Mail has been very favorable. I highly recommend its service to anyone. It is easy to learn. The learning curve is short.

Pros

What I like most about my AOL Mail is the ability to organize emails into subfolders. This allows for much better organization of files related to the same subject or author. In turn, I am able to retrieve email strings or have an increased continuity of thought. I also like the search feature. I can search by key words and all the relative emails will populate for ease of searching. AOL also captures potential spam mail into its own folder. This allows me to review and delete bad content or allow it into my inbox if I choose.

Cons

I do not like the "junk" email that I get. Just like regular email it is annoying and time consuming to remove.

### "Reliable for more than a decade"

August 30, 2025

4.0

I am very pleased with this service and the fact that its been reliable for so many years. I feel secured having this email

Pros

I’ve had my account for 15 years and have never had an issue of hacking plus it gives me security by having a backup contact

Cons

There are instances where junk mail will go into my regular inbox so it does get tiring filtering whats good and not but that happens with all email companies

### "Old School but Updated "

November 15, 2023

5.0

I've had AOL Mail since I was 17. I am now in my 40s. I have seen them upgrade the system, making changes to keep info protected. I have seen them come up with easier ways to change a lost password. It is my preferred email service.

Pros

I have been an AOL mail user forever! It's easy to navigate. You can find what you are looking for quickly. It was free. I love free.

Cons

I have never had an issue with AOL mail. Maybe just trying to find a password in the past. They have upgraded, and easier to reset.

### "Since You Had to Dial Up"

October 5, 2023

4.0

I've been with aol for years, so most of it is intuitive and second nature. I took a break for a little while, but came back because of ease of use. The organization and layout are a good design to make things feel simple. I like that. It also has a high deliverability rate for sent mail, so even going into inboxes of people I don't know, the email doesn't get tagged or shuffled into promotions or spam.

Pros

The design and layout is simple to use and can be used for a quick glance to determine what's important, what items can wait or what can be delayed just by looking.

Cons

There are no aspects of the product I found unuseful, howere the aol tag comes with a certain predisposition. It is one of the oldest in the industry, and almost ubiquitous, but that may create misconceptions with the intended delivery recepient.

Pros

As a student and student working in college, I have been a user of AOL mail since the beginning of high school and I have found it to be everything I need. I receive emails fast and in an organized manner! With all the projects and assignments I have to stay on top of, I need to use AOL at least 10 times a day.

Cons

I have no complaints as a 6-year user of this software.

### "Forever AOL"

October 27, 2021

5.0

I use AOL for all of my personal communications. It's important that I have an email that is not connected to my workplace, and my AOL account is perfect for that.

Pros

Email with AOL is so easy. I have always had AOL and I have no plans to change that. I like the extra features of stationery and smileys. I use those regularly.

Cons

The only thing I don't like about AOL is the attitude I hear on rare occasions that it's old-fashioned. AOL actually keeps up with the times by adding new artists, updated stationery, and more.

### "AOl mail for dummies"

November 28, 2021

2.0

My overall experience with Aol would be mediocre at best average plugins loose security protocols and customer service is barley teachable

Pros

The feature I liked most about Aol was the ability to use the build in software to add attachments and search for files online including audio and graphic

Cons

What I found most disturbing about this software was the fact that it would crash 1 to 2 times a day mostly when sendingass email folders with attachments causing me to waste 1 hour of my time refiling everuthing
