It's important that I have an email that is not connected to my workplace, and my AOL account is perfect for that. Pros Email with AOL is so easy. I have always had AOL and I have no plans to change that. I like the extra features of stationery and smileys. I use those regularly. Cons The only thing I don't like about AOL is the attitude I hear on rare occasions that it's old-fashioned. AOL actually keeps up with the times by adding new artists, updated stationery, and more. Cons Something about the design throws me off, it feels more like yahoo to me and I like that there’s an influx between colors however, it doesn’t necessarily seem appealing. I have had this email address since 1995 and I have no issues with accessing my information and have never lost saved files. I do receive an excessive amount of junk mail and span, that it is no longer my primary email address. Overall, it meets the basic needs. Pros I signed up with AOL mail back when AOL was brand new. I have been using the same email address since 1995. It has been consistent and reliable. Cons I get an abundance of junk mail and spam. More so than any other email account. I understand that selling personal information is a standard practice, but it has been done to excess that I do not use this as my primary account and switched in 2004. I have used my AOL mail address for over 15 years now. Unfortunately it has just became more of a memory of the past. Pros AOL mail is what I would call a well known classic. I have used this since I was a teenager and when I first started my adventures with using the internet. I would say that this is what set the stage for all other email platforms we use today. You can now change the voice for the iconic you've got mail phrase. You can even use the voice of a famous celebrity to let you know you've got mail. There is an option to purchase extra security if your needing it. Cons I can't think of anything really bad about AOL mail. It has just became somewhat outdated. You have to download a separate app to use it on your phone with ease. I don't really like that I have to pay a fee for added security. Review Source DB Dori B. My first email was with AOL and it still works wonderfully. By far one of the superior email software available and unlike many others, it doesn't track your every move. Also, with the ability to instant message your friends or work associates, it is an easy alternative to texting. AOL email keeps in mind the safety and security of its users. It also provides service updates and notifications that come directly from AOL admin, so you can keep contact details and double-check the security system and keep it updated. Lastly, nothing beats a spam-free email service. Cons Some of the features can be considered outdated.
