And their customer support is top-notch. They held our hand every step of the way during our implementation and created a BC-branded product of which we are incredibly proud. All questions are answered with unbelievable speed. And as we learn about the product and discover things we may not have known we originally needed, they work with us to find quick and creative solutions. Pros BC primarily uses Ovrture for reporting. We have been very impressed with the quality and flexibility that Ovrture offers. We can produce beautiful impact reports in mass, but we also have the ability to create highly customized reports for specific donors. The data loaders allow us to easily and quickly import content and photos. We can edit and format as needed. And the analytics are great for tracking how and when our donors are interacting with the platform. The system is very user-friendly and we have received great feedback from donors. Cons Honestly, there are only a few negatives for us. We would like to see some improvements to the print bridge features. And because of the way BC reports on its funds, it would be helpful for us to have the ability to have multiple builder defaults set up at once so that different team members can build reports at the same time. Assistant Director, Stewardship Reporting Fund-Raising Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Game changer " October 13, 2022 5.0 Cut down on paper and the time required to send paper reports, significantly reducing staff time and other resources. It allowed us to create more dynamic reports because we had more ways to present information, both in how it is organized and presented, and the type of media included. This was especially great for those that were typically long written bound reports - we encouraged the contributors to rethink what information they included and how it was presented, which ultimately led to less staff time. Pros Ovrture is a very flexible platform that is designed to meet your exact needs, and paired with their responsiveness and excellent customer service, we've been able to design fabulous stewardship reports for our donors. Not only has it significantly cut the amount of time required to compile and mail paper reports, but we have received an overwhelmingly positive response from donors, gift officers, and university leadership. Donors love that they have expanded information, like graphs for their financial statements, and that they can now receive thank you videos from scholarships (as well as letters or bios). We’ve also produced creative custom reports for top donors, who have been thrilled with the variety of information that can be included, and the interactive way it’s presented. Corporations and foundations have been equally pleased – they appreciate how easy it is to share across the organization and have commented that we’ve made future funding decisions very easy for them. Our staff members, gift officers, and university leadership value the ability to track who is opening their reports and how they are engaging with them. As we move into our second year using Ovrture, we are using this information to take everything to the next level. Cons We struggle with spacing issues when many different fields are used on impact templates, and the character counts can be difficult to work around. One of our schools was recently named, and it is so long that we can't fit it in certain fields on important templates. We also really struggle with the print version and certain limitations around that. However, our client engagement executives are so amazing and the Ovrture team is so responsive that we are working on fixes for much of what's noted above. I would have had way more to write if they weren't always there to help find solutions. Donor Relations Manager Higher Education Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Annual Stewardship reports, beautiful and efficiently produced" October 3, 2022 5.0 Our team is VERY HAPPY with Ovrture and our donors' experience as a result--we get many compliments from donors each time we report. Each reporting cycle gets easier, giving our team more capacity to take on additional projects with the time we used to spend collating several thousands of merged pages. In addition, we know so much more about who is opening their reports and how/whether they interact with its components. We hope to expand into using the sites in the future as an additional value, now that we are well established with our reports. Pros Our very favorite aspects of using Ovrture for our annual stewardship reports are: (1) beautiful, branded design; (2) friendly, knowledgeable, and responsive client support team; (3) built-in efficiencies for doing bulk actions on many reports at once; and (4) the straightforward and therefore adaptable backend data structure. Cons As with any new software, especially one solving for an emerging need (in this case, digital stewardship reports), there is a lot to learn. Certain limitations of the platform can be challenging to overcome, though we understand that niche functions and broad usability must be balanced. That said, several of our questions/challenges led to new features or have been added to the team's backlog for the future. We selected Ovrture because of its attractive presentation, ease-of-use for donors, well designed data structure that can easily adapt as needed, and its ability to produce both print and digital versions reports in one process so we can serve ALL our donors. This started on a much needed path of digital reporting. Ovrture has been a great partner - listening to our needs, responding to our wish lists, and working with us to overcome barriers. We now work each year to improve our processes to keep up with donor demand, IT changes, and overall changes in reporting requirements - and Ovrture is a great partner with us. Pros Ovrture is easy to use, loads our information almost seamlessly, and gives the donors a beautiful, secured site for them to review their personal pages and information. No matter what device a donor is reviewing their page on, they see their own customized reports and content. Cons We would like to take a deeper dive into reviewing the printing functions of the reports, so that our donors who wish to have a printed version of the reports receive fuller presentation piece of their report (content panels and reports). The customer service has been phenomenal - we have an account manager who is always available to answer questions and do mini-trainings on new features or things we have forgotten how to do. The 1:1 attention and interest in accomplishing OUR unique goals is incredibly appreciated. Pros Before adopting Ovrture, my team created and mailed hard-copy reports to our endowment and named fund donors. In addition to the environmental impact and printing and delivery costs, we were spending an immense amount of staff time designing, compiling data, assembling reports, etc. The obvious perk about Ovrture is that it is a modern, attractive, user-friendly way to engage with donors. But what I personally like most about the software is that it allows my small team to build and deliver these engagement opportunities far more efficiently and timely than in the past, causing less headaches internally and stronger donor satisfaction externally. Cons Ovrture is able to be an efficient, polished product because of templated design options. There are occasionally times when someone reviewing a site or report we create in Ovrture suggests an edit that is hard to incorporate using the existing templates (character limitations, etc.). This is VERY rare and we can almost always suggest a work-around using the existing options. I also know that Ovrture staff would help us develop something, it just usually isn't worth the time when we are trying to keep something moving forward. Reason for choosing Ovrture At the time we were looking this was the only product that was even worth considering. Since then, I know ODDER has gotten some traction in the field, but with some brief research the security and flexibility/features are not as strong as Ovrture. We can limit the number of hardcopy reports we send and have access to immediate feedback from donors about the impact of their philanthropy. Several of our affiliated foundations have adopted Ovrture for their reporting. Pros Ovrture allows our institution to deliver high-quality stewardship touchpoints to key donors. It's an intuitive platform. Our reports look terrific and garner great feedback from their intended audience. Cons There are some constraints around character counts. Reason for choosing Ovrture UVA was an early adopter of Ovrture. It was introduced at a time when there weren't really other alternatives on the market. The system is very easy to use and navigate. Just upload all of your data, create your templates, and click "Build Reports". It has been a game changer in getting endowment reports out to donors in a timely manner. Pros Ovrture is very easy to use, and the customer service is top notch. The design is also incredible - much better looking than other platforms on the market. Cons Before creating your content panels or impact content, you have to upload all of your assets and photos to Ovrture first. It would be nice to just be able to just upload directly from my computer rather than Ovrture. Uploading records is also complicated. There are 2 processes - one for new records and another to update records already in the system. It would be nice to just upload one list and click "replace". It's also difficult to delete records. They get the best of both worlds with financial analytics, as well as background information on where their finances are being utilized. The presentation is beautiful, and it's great to be able to provide our donors with a digital fund report that is not only user-friendly, but visually appealing with the use of photos, videos, and PDF download capabilities. One of the best parts of using this software is the team behind it. They are quick to answer any questions we may have, and their response time is unmatched. Cons I would love to see an easier way to transfer digital to print in a more impactful way. I wish there were more options of templates for content panel layout. It was extremely fortuitous for us that we implemented the Ovrture platform before the COVID-19 pandemic. We used it heavily during those many pandemic months of not being able to travel to visit prospective donors of large gifts. It was key to keeping relationships warm thanks to the platform's ability to engender pro-giving emotions through multimedia communication. Cons File management inside the platform becomes a pain point if you upload a very large amount of materials over months and years of heavy use. But, the company's dedication to platform improvements will almost certainly ameliorate this soon. Don't upload resources until they are required. This is new territory for us and them and has been a smooth process so far. The Ovrture staff, especially \[sensitive content hidden\], have been extremely supportive. Pros Our donors appreciate interacting with a product that allows them to interact with various media at their own pace. It is easy to set up and Ovrture staff guide you through the process step-by-step. They are also very responsive to any questions or issues that come up. Cons PDFs created from online content are plain and lack the formatting of the web design. It would be awesome to have the ability to choose whether you wanted a plain PDF or a formatted PDF.
