Information changed by one user doesn’t get updated for other users. And the features are hard to find and to use. If I get hopelessly stuck, customer service is just a phone call away and they are very helpful and knowledgable. Pros PowerChurch makes accounting easy. I am not an accountant, but I have no problem paying our bills, processing payroll, and setting up new accounts. I have used this software for over 8 years and I have refused to switch programs many times. Cons Moving money from different funds can be tricky and confusing. It was helpful in terms of communication, and even recording attendance, which in turn allowed us to check up on people who had been absent for some time. Pros Personally, I appreciated how PowerChurch allowed me to send emails to all the parents of our Jr High and High School youth ministry students. This is something I would do at least once a week - and PowerChurch facilitated this communication easily. Cons As a youth pastor, there were times when I needed to communicate directly to the students in the high school ministry, and not just their parents - unfortunately, PowerChurch did not seem to have an option that would allow me to email just the students; rather, all communication had to go to the parents. It keeps a record of membership and allows me to pull records with variable criteria to find the group I am searching for. It also provides records of all financial bookkeeping with just simple entries. Pros This software offers everything that your church could possibly need from financial bookkeeping and check printing to membership files. Cons It took a little time to set up everything and you need a little accounting background to make sure you get all of your financial accounts set up correctly. It does everything I need it to do, and there is the capability to do so much more that we don’t take advantage of. Pros I like this software because it is an all-inclusive church membership program. It keeps up with membership, visitors, and any other category of people we need to follow. It is an excellent financial program and the contribution program integrates between the financial and membership. I have used more expensive programs but this is just as good as the most expensive. Why pay more when this can do everything I need it to do. Cons The only drawback I have seen is the tax part of the payroll module. The 941 reports don’t seem to be as accurate because of the unique distributions of a minister’s salary. Otherwise everything else does well.
