We are able to provide detailed reports to support requests for time, staff, or other resources. From Website reviews, to photoshop file reviews and even Word and Excel documents it has allowed the feedback loop and version control of documents and creative files to save our team A LOT of time. We regularly use the "guest" feature to have single project collaborators view comments or edits and the interface continues to get easier and easier. Truly a great project and a great team behind it! Pros We love the ease of adding guest reviewers and version control. I also regularly download comments from projects into a .csv to sort and assign individual changes - it has been such a time saver and takes the guessing work out of creative reviews. Cons We use the tool regularly and sometimes the 30 minute auto-timeout for inactive use causes me to login again, if a user could extend that window, that would be very helpful! I love how when I first walk into work that I know what I need to do and which I need to do first and so forth. Pros What I love most about this software is that it is accessible on a Chromebook. All you have to do is log in on the website and all of your project management tools are right there. It works in an agile format which is what our company is used to using, so that is a nice feature. Cons With some of the updates in the software our team has been a little lost. I also like that in agile teams you can work through a cross project backlog and it updates the tasks in the project. Cons We couldn't get a straight answer on how to use the resource manager. Specifically how to negotiate between the resource allocation and staffing interfaces so from a program and project level. There are constant issues that we have been told are related to the network. We have been told the product doesn't work with any proxys or vlans and the issues have been closed. We as a group no longer even submit the issues because there is no resolution. Publishing Planner Used the software for: ### "Good, but could be better" October 14, 2015 4.0 We have been implementing Workfront within our European Marketing function for around 12-18 months now. After evaluating a number of options we decided on Workfront as a replacement for a number of different software packages we used for specific functions, such as MS Access for budget management, MS Project for planning, and a bespoke system for raising requests. The key benefits of Workfront for us are that it is one solution in one place for everyone, and we can all follow a common practice. Projects can be planned, allocated and managed in one place, with visibility for all stakeholders. From a personal point of view the downsides for me are that some of the functionality doesn't work as expected. I have had repeated issues with importing existing MS Project plans in, even using the dedicated import tool. I would also like to see added functionality such as an "Undo" button, and also the option to track the impact of changes to a production plan before committing them. In the next 12 months we are aiming to roll this out globally, which hopefully should improve the way we work even further. I would definitely recommend Workfront as a solution, but would advise making sure everything you need is covered and works correctly. By tracking progress within the Workfront application, we have time to focus on the direction, success and quality of our projects. Pros Most users have been quick adopters, and have positive feedback on the ease of sharing documents, delegating tasks,. etc. Cons There are some customized tabs we would like to add to each project that are not external sites or a dashboard. I have issues with the way some of the teams have set up their individual group request pages, but that is just more of a reflection on setup rather than functionality. Pros It allows multiple departments to have their own project requests and tracking. You can have customized groups set up to allow cross-functional team efforts. Cons Sometimes trying to access a certain project or request can be a little confusing because depending on where you click it might take you to someone's profile or group page instead of to the project or request details. April 11, 2017 5.0 We've been using Workfront for about one year in our Marketing department. It has helped organize the team and made us far more efficient than when we simply were working from emails. The information we need is collected up front and we also have a history we can review. We've also started using the Workfront number as a unique ID that we're tying to our collateral so we can track it's history. Pros Easy to use. Can ramp up quickly. Makes a difference. Cons More out of the box user training would be helpful.
