July 10, 2018 5.0 Pros We were able to customize Workfront to fit into the immediate needs of the different departments in my organization.Making it easy for everyone to collaborate with anyone in the organization ; across teams and different departments. Thus making the workflow process of every department easily trackable and transparent. The process of allocating resources for project and managing these resources is much easier because with Workload everyone is almost like a Project manager , only they don't bear the title officially. Cons Team members have complained about sometime encountering errors when trying to comment on tasks.Also currently ,there is no means via which we are able to visualize our workflow on Workfront. It categorizes time as days and activities. You may quickly create reports based on the breakdown for your and your managers' use. Cons I honestly don't know what to do. Upgrades may occur at inconvenient times, but I do not consider this a negative; it is simply part of the process. In my perspective, the most challenging component is having a client or salesman meet a problem with the application a few times every year. There are numerous options depending on what your requirement is. It is easy to use and works wonderfully with multiple users. Pros I particularly like how easy it was to learn and use on a daily basis. Also, the notifications it sends out are the most helpful to know when some attention is required. I really like using this app and feel that it was the right choice for the purpose it is being used for. Cons Nothing really. I haven't come across anything that I wouldn't like about it. It was nice to have all my projects in a list and have all the information needed in each project. It was always so satisfying to hit the "done" button and see it disappear off the list! Workfront is a nice way to keep track of projects. Cons It was a little confusing to learn at first. I imagine it might be easier for actual project managers to use as they set up and assign the projects, but as someone without access to everything, sometimes it would get confusing trying to find things or take the correct action. Once you get the hang of it though, it is really great to keep track of projects and see things progressing! But, the issue with the search can be very frustrating and take a lot more time to look up a project when trying to refer back to something. Pros I use Workfront every day in my marketing job, and it keeps our different projects very organized with the ability to customize each project and its "tasks" to every different type of marketing campaign we are executing. Cons Sometimes, Workfronts search features can be a real pain. We have a specific # for each job/campaign that we create. Lately I've been having issue with Workfront not strategically looking up the job #. I will type in the job number (take example - 123ABC). Instead of looking for the number in that order (123ABC), it will pull up ANY job that has ANY of those digits/letters. It makes the search process in the job very difficult. Reporting tool capability - provides the ability to report and display on any piece of information captured in the work management process (with a few limitations on display - see cons) 3. Customer support model - help is always available through the Help function, Workfront Community, and Customer support group Cons 1\. Reporting - there are a few limitations to the reporting capability (e.x. you cannot add a project gantt chart to a report or dashboard that displays in the parent/child relationship) 2. Lack of inherent integrations with other popular systems 3. With this tool, we have been able to launch campaigns and assignments efficiently and it has helped us stay on track with getting tasks completed in a timely manner. Pros Workfront has helped our team organize projects in a functional way. It allows you to group similar tasks and assign subtasks to members of your team with due dates, hours for completion, etc. Workfront also includes a built in calendar that integrates with your tasks, so if you're off on PTO or a holiday, task due dates automatically update to work around your schedule. Cons Workfront can be counter intuitive sometimes when it comes to time management. There are a few functionality issues that I think could be updated to better serve its users. One example of this is having to click a button to say you're working on the project, rather than just clicking once to say you've completed the project. The interface design could also be updated to be a little more user-friendly and visually appealing. Pros The thing we liked most about Adobe Workfront was its ability to streamline our operations and manage our resources. The user interface is easy to understand and use, and the system is highly customizable. The integration with Adobe Creative Cloud and other third-party products made it easy to tailor the software to our needs. Workfront also allowed us to manage projects, collaborate on tasks, and keep track of resources with ease. Cons The only thing we didn't like about Adobe Workfront was the cost. It can be quite expensive for a small business to invest in this software. However, the overall value and features make it worth the price. But it does not lend itself to everything our department needs to solve for. Pros It is actually quite a comprehensive tool for project management. It has enough features to support the very varied needs of a 100-strong department and those with whom we directly interact on projects. Cons It doesn't take much to break an elaborate project workflow. If a project contains many interdependent tasks, it can fall down due to (lack of) human intervention. May 2, 2018 5.0 It allowed our IT department to go from 5 products to track our work (ITSM, Assana, TFS, MS Project, and Spiratest) to one product where we use it for our Helpdesk, Projects, Agile Teams, Test Cases, and results, and many many dashboards and reports to gauge how we're doing. Now we're able to track our work and if the work belongs to another team we can pass it along without having to recreate it in another tool. The communication function is also been a success for us. Pros The work tracking, communication and reporting capabilities. Reporting is a misnomer because it's more of a screen view that allows you to dive deeper into the report and the objects in the report. The Communication methods of being able to comment on objects and allow people to respond via email and still append the reply as a log in the object has been a big win for us. Even naysayers now love the product in our organization. The reporting is so powerful I instruct users to develop their dream scenario and I can usually deliver what they want. Cons From time to time it can get glitchy. They've made great improvements on this over the years and I've had the same issue with other products too (i.e. MS Project used to crash on me once a day). But for the complexity of the product and all the functionality it delivers, it's a very small percentage of time that this occurs. Review Source Megan C. From solution specialists to user forums and beyond, you are supported throughout. Pros Workfront offers the best suite of services, automations and support for the creative marketing organization. I recommend it for high volume production management, both planned and unplanned. The client management tools are excellent and keep WIPs from escaping too soon. The performance data is easy to capture and customize. Cons This is not an easy solution, but it is the best. That means the creative organziation is going to have to invest time and money into implementation and training. Marketing managers will need training on the client side, too. I'm not in project management but my company does use it to keep up with controlling the progress of each project. I like that the admin can add and edit customized dropdowns for us and you can pick what team can see your projects or tickets. I'm not a fan of how visible certain projects are to certain people depending on the type of user (see Cons comments). Also some users have mentioned that if you know the ticket number, sometimes it doesn't come up in the search unless if you have a link to the page or if you know key words in the project name. Workfront looks nice and has some good functions, but I think we're heavy users and easily found the flaw quickly. The mobile app is nice for when you're off-site but we rarely use it. Pros You can tag others who need to see the project, you can look up projects by search or name, and it's a handy reporting tool on progress. Workfront looks nice, can be accessed through a browser and has a mobile app. Cons You get too many or not enough notifications. Notifications can get out of control so you try to set it to where you see certain ones. If you tag whole teams you may not receive those notifications at all. From what our administrators tell us, it depends on the license they give us (unclear if this is a money issue). Review Source Jill B. Now I am managing the projects for the end users, and it is more robust than I ever knew! I am able to make reports that make my design team's lives easier, their clients lives easier, and with their mobile apps, my sales team's lives easier. Pros The basic project management capabilities, the continuous innovation and adaptations we are able to implement, and how it can become whatever tool you need it to be when you set it up the right way. Cons I miss my old project management software's "start/stop" timer for tracking time, but apparently they are considering adding this to workfront.
