Storage for a ton of files and make your life easy wherever you are if you have internet, you don’t need to sit in front of your desktop. Pros Share Drives are full! This problem always happens when you all work and have to put several files on the drive and share information between departments. How many times you clear and update the share drives, there are still not enough spaces to save your files but since the company uses the Google Cloud, life is easier because there are spaces which depend on the package. It works well with Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and various applications from Google. Cons I don’t have any technical issues with this function because for me I like every platform from Google. It worked well, and we utilized it as our SQL server for our data from our stores. Very high speeds from Google, so there was little to no delay on data traffic. Pros We utilized the Google Cloud Platform primarily for a VM running Win Server 2012. What we liked best with GCP, was that it worked. We tried several other platforms, but were unable to get them to work with our onsite hardware. GCP was the first platform which allowed us to establish a 3-way VPN tunnel to multiple physical locations, with the firewalls we had installed. Combine this with easy data backup tools and various other features, it made for a easy solution for our needs. Cons The GUI/website control panel area is relatively limited, and to really maximize your use of GCP you need to understand the Console commands and how to use the console to setup your servers and manage your settings. This requires some more advanced knowledge and training beyond a consumer user. Access to any type of support is locked behind significant paywall. Pros My organisation mostly uses Google Compute Engine to host all our websites and applications on Google infrastructure. It is a fairly reasonably priced service and very stable, bosting excellent and reliable uptime. You can run a number of officially supported Linux distributions, so you can most likely install what you know. It is all quite easy to setup and manage your servers, though the UI is Google style - so it's not the prettiest - quite minimalist. Cons It can start to get expensive once you need to scale, so make sure you look at what that would cost before buy in at the entry level. Also, I'm not a huge fan of the interface, it's a very simple and ugly - but it all works perfectly so it's not a big deal. I need to download the document and then manually do it. Another downside is sharing documents with a person. Most times it asks permission for the other person to edit it. Pros I used AWS, Azure and Google Cloud in the last two years. I can say that the usage of Google Cloud is easier than the others. From the search, I can find what I need very easily. When I need to create an instance etc, the user or access stuff can be created quickly. The screens are not complicated and almost everything is well-documented. Also some services, like PubSub, it has their own local simulator. In your local, you can try it. Cons Its dashboards like PubSub does not have an auto-refresh feature. So to follow their progress, you need to refresh manually. As I mentioned above, almost everything is well-documented but some discontinued features or parameters are not mentioned in the official documents. So it causes some misunderstanding. I'm sure it'd be even better and more popular if the team could invest more in improving the onboarding process for new GCP users. Pros I really like that GCP offers an affordable, reliable option for setting up the infrastructure for a new product. It has all the features necessary to support a new software, at a great price point, and the securities allow me to sleep at night without having to worry about random failing. Cons I really dislike how poorly supported the onboarding process is. Many documentations online for GCP are outdated, so I actually had to fix a bug by trial-and-error, and the bugs often turn out to be a result of an incorrect setting due to the missing / false documentation.
